Lastly, Lindhout uses allusions so that the reader has a reference as to where they are being held and what is going on around them. “His jihad was all about driving the Ethiopian troops out of Somalia” (Lindhout 137). This quote gives a little background information about the tension in Somalia. “From here on out, the man would arrive at least once a week bringing money and supplies for our captors. Once or twice, we saw him carrying a big pot of home-cooked food and leaving it for the boys. We nicknamed him Donald Trump” (Lindhout 168). The last anecdote talks about what one of the leaders did and who Lindhout related to Donald Trump. Both of these anecdotes give information about the area and conflict in which Lindhout is being held and
In the article “The Brutal Economic Truth Behind the Rise of Trump” Anthony Mirhaydari sides with Donald Trump and discusses how he is a good candidate. He argues that although he may be loud, obnoxious, and have very radical foreign policy ideals he still is not an awful choice. He brings up the quotes, “It's the economy stupid” which was coined by James Carville during Bill Clinton's political campaign while he was running for president. He states how people will gravitate and make their main decisions on the economic policies of each candidate. He understands the self interest in human nature and how people want to secure their own personal economic situation before they deal with foreign affairs such as the immigration problem. People will almost always vote for who will help out their economic situation the best and the author feels that Trump has a solid plan and a good grasp of what the problem is.
Billionaire New York developer Donald Trump says that legalizing drugs is the only way to win the war against what he considers one of America's most serious problems. Trump blamed the country's drug problems on politicians who "don`t have any guts" and enforcement efforts that are "a joke." "We`re losing badly the war on drugs," Trump told 700 people at a luncheon Friday. "You have to legalize drugs to win that war. You have to take the profit away from these drug czars." Trump said tax revenues from a legalized drug trade could be spent to educate the public on the dangers of drug use. In an interview, Trump said he believed it was an appropriate time to broach his ideas "because South Florida has such a huge problem with

In this article, Martin explains how Donald Trump’s inclusion into the race and his increasingly racist attacks on minority groups is worrying Republicans. His recent statements regarding Hispanics and Blacks have been highly controversial, and while his favorability rating is extremely low among those demographics, 15% respectively, Donald Trump still leads by a large margin in the polls. Republican party leaders do not believe he will win the nomination, but his attacks have drawn the Republican talking points to the right. Just last week, Trump attacked Jeb Bush for speaking Spanish on the campaign trail, and August 29th he criticized recent attacks on the police in regards to the recent Baltimore riots. Other Republican nominees, hoping to grab some of the primary voters from Trump, have begun attacking the two largest minorities in the United States. Ted Cruz recently spoke about the Houston deputy who was killed, where he said Obama was to blame for the shooting, and that the President was also responsible for the recent rioting in Baltimore. Ted Cruz has not been the only nominee to follow Trump’s success. Even Jeb Bush, who is married to a Mexican-American immigrant, has been attacking immigration policies, especially birthright

Politicians spend a significant amount of time on the construction of their reputation. The typical politician aims to project themselves as kind, caring, and hardworking, however, Donald Trump has taken a slightly different approach, instead, playing up his success in business. He portrays himself as a winner and an indomitable force, someone who is finally willing to say things as they are. This is quite a stark difference between Mr. Trump and the typical politician.
John F. Kennedy’s political philosophy was to bring peace and hope back for everyone. He also focused on foreign affairs and the importance of support to each other in other to conquer freedom. On the other hand, Donald Trump’s political philosophy is to move America forward. It is time for the government to put the country first and its people. He believes that it is not the government what causes America to fail, but the people that run it. Overall, he wants to make America great again. He wants America to be respected by its allies and fear by its opponents. All the plans that Trump has in his Inaugural Address offer the most logical political position for the United States.

The year is 2020, President Trump’s presidency is coming to an end, but it cannot come sooner to the American people. Trumps years in the Oval Office would have been great if not for his sudden decision to initiate the removal of immigrants during his last months as President. Every major city in the United States is swarming with Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents. Immigrants are being taken right out of the workplace, rounded up, handcuffed and sent back to their home country. As the immigrant population disseminates, hundreds of local businesses across the nation go bankrupt. Boarded up store fronts are now the norm. With the dramatic decrease in the immigrant population almost no one is willing to invest in the infrastructure of towns with low socio-economic statuses. Farms are being left no crop pickers, in a few weeks there will be a shortage of produce across the United States. As people begin to ration, the economy continues to plummet. Every day the immigrant population decreases and everyday more businesses close, more food goes bad because of the lack of crop pickers, and more people begin to realize the importance of the immigrant population. This could soon be our reality, if immigration is not dealt with properly and in accordance with current information.
One example of a story of difference that is used to perpetuate oppression in today’s society, is the controversial remarks given by Donald Trump when speaking of immigrants coming from Mexico. According to the Associated Press, Donald Trump stated that Mexico sent the United States, its immigrants who carry numerous problems (drugs, rape, crime, etc.) for America to solve (2015). Donald Trump further stated that the United States had become a dumping ground for other people’s problems (Associated Press, 2015). These comments initially sparked widespread outrage and confusion by the public, while few hesitantly agreed with the presidential candidate. Although organizations such as NBC and Univision ended their business relations with Trump,
Trump. Rich, powerful and dicey are three words which best describe him. Donald Trump is a business icon and billionaire real estate mogul, owning many popular buildings such as Trump Towers and Trump Plaza. He also features in his TV show ‘The Apprentice USA’. Trump is viewed as being a hero to many young, aspiring adults, who have big business expectations for themselves, labelling Trump as the ultimate entrepreneur. However, this being said, Trump also seems to rub many people up the wrong way to get what he wants...

Living in a world where there is no guarantee of a safe tomorrow, where every breath we take is toxic and every morsel of food we eat is filled with pesticide, protecting and saving mother earth should top our to-do list. But sadly, this is the least of our concerns. We are at the tipping point, on the verge when we cannot go back and rectify our mistakes and if we delay any further, it’s going to be too late. There are questions we need to ask ourselves and the governments from time to time: Are our governments doing enough to protect our green? Are they pitching in enough money to save our environment? And if they are, is all the money put to its rightful use? Better coordination between governments and proper funding is required to
