Supporting Church Family Analysis

The article “Understanding Families” by Linda Garris Christian expresses six characteristics that apply to Family Systems Theory and to the environment provided by early childhood educators. Boundaries are a characteristic that may set limits as well as emphasizes togetherness. The article states that for some families the behavior of the child is the reflection on the whole family. Refereed to this behavior as being enmeshed. As a provider and early childhood educator, my experience was with a family that I considered enmeshed.

A hug from a father, a thank you note from the wife, or a gift from the children; these are all expressions of love that brightens a day. Chapter 13 of The Family: A Christian Perspective on the Contemporary Home, talks about love in the family. The expression of love within the family is key, because it will also affect how we react outside the home.

From the Project Director’s experience, it is common to hear and feel a sense of gratitude and positive pride that Lenexa Baptist Church (LBC) is an excellent church from both leaders and the small group setting participants. Any faults found are minor and pale in comparison to many of the issues a church could face. LBC is a regional church with multiple campus locations strategically selected for maximum impact to reach Kansas City with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The family is struggling to find their identity in the face of this illness. Each family member reflects values in keeping with their Southern Baptist background with faith playing an integral role in their daily lives.

On March 5, 1922, with 24 members in attendance at a meeting held in the train depot on Hutchins Boulevard in the Village of San José, Texas, which was a suburb of San Antonio, Texas, San José Baptist Church began. The Church then rented a building for several months on Commercial Avenue across the street from the Terrell Wells Post Office. Later in 1923, the Church rented a two-room house from the Harlandale School District.

While reading The Family Crucible, the authors made it feel like I was watching a life-time television series. There were several high points and low points during the family therapy session that left me unsure of how the show would end. This book takes you on a journey using family counseling to help a family heal and communicate better with one another. I thought it was interesting how this systematic therapy took place in a time where therapy was looked at as taboo. Many times in that era family therapy was not an option. The main focus was on the family member with the issue and not on the parents or other family members. In the book the authors used different theories and approaches during the counseling sessions which were quite interesting. This process after time enabled the family to look at the journey they were on in order to understand how the family, as a whole, should function.

The Trinity Lutheran Church is preschool and daycare center, this organization is open whole year to help working families. The Trinity Lutheran Church located in Boone County, Missouri. The territory of church has a children’s playground, which surrounded by pea gravel. Due to the fact that kids are young and may injure themselves if they fall on hard pea gravel, the Trinity Church sent application to take part in program to replace the pea gravel on recycled tires to upgrade playgrounds. Whereupon their application got denied. As a result of which the church seek legal redress in a lower court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit where it got denied second time based on Constitution of Missouri that says that no public finding can go to religious

The Family Crucible is a story about the Brice family who is recommended by Claudia’s psychiatrist to go to family therapy due to the fact that she has not been making any progress in individual psychotherapy. The Brice family comes in to meet with Dr. Carl Whitaker and Dr. Augustus Napier, who co-facilitate family therapy throughout the entirety of the book.

In the small congregation I attend, which consists of sixty mostly older faithful believers, the Book of Common Prayers is their Bible. The congregation uses the Book of Common Prayer or the bulletin in church. There seem to be no question on which Rite is used. The Prayer Book class was offered to them as a group, no one step forth. I have never seen anyone from All Saints congregation holding or having a Bible with them. Reverend Janis has tried to get some of the congregation to take classes through the Stevenson School for Ministry. The congregation follows traditional old ways and they do not like change. Four Episcopalians have left our small congregation and moved to other churches, due to the change in the policy of the Episcopal Church

Many teens of his age turn to extracurricular activities such as musics or sports. Extracurricular activities are important for teens Victors age because it helps them develop working skills, people skills, and much more. The Metropolitan Community Church located in New York area is founded in 1971. At a first glance, with the limited sight I have, I thought the outside seemed to look like a nursery school with different colors and a flag hanging by the door. However, once someone pay more attention, the building was actually painted with Christian symbols using rainbow color paints, symbolizing gay pride. As soon as you entered the door, on your left was a narrow wooden stairway. On the first level, on the right was an entrance, where they conduct the ceremony. By the door, there were ushers waiting and greeting everyone with a smile, shacking everyone's hands and handing out the program for the month of November until the first week of December.

“Parachurch organizations are Christian faith-based organizations that usually carry out their mission independent of church oversight. The prefix para is Greek for besides, or alongside.Most parachurch organizations, at least those normally called parachurch, are Protestant and Evangelical.” ("List of parachurch organizations", 2018)A parachurch community that I have seen that meets the characteristics of a church would include Christian programs that are geared towards helping individuals grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, and psychologically and tend to the whole individual. The para church community had the leading of the Holy Spirit and “members look to God for salvation, healing, deliverance from evil, and adoption into the family of God, while seeking after God with all their hearts, minds, and souls”

Starting off this class with reading what Family Ministry is defined as opened up my view on how Family Ministry can be diverse in a variety of understanding. Diana Garland stated that “family ministry is any activity that directly or indirectly (1) forms families in the congregation community; (2) increases the Christlikeness of the family relationships of Christians; or (3) equips and supports families for the work to which they are called together.” Earlier in that reading, Family Ministry: A Comprehensive Guide, she stated that “The flurry of programs called family ministry is the fear that Christian families are falling apart and need churches to strengthen and support them.” Diana Garland’s definitions are what I strive for in ministry and luckily many churches see Family Ministry as she does at this present time. Family Ministry Field Guide stated “As many as four distinct meanings for ‘family ministry’ can be found among contemporary churches: (1) In some churches, family ministry implies Family Life Education-a program for counseling troubled families or teaching intact families how to communicate more effectively; (2) some churches set nuclear family at the center and focus all their efforts on developing healthy Christian households; (3) other congregations take family ministry to mean a program for developing family-like relationships in the church; and (4) still other congregations see family ministry as a catchall title to describe the

Throughout my entire life, it seemed as though everything was centered around my family’s collective core morals and an unwritten ethic code instilled in me as I grew up. My family’s principles remain a major part of my life, especially as I begin the transition to independence in the adult world. Considering my family has always been one of the most important things to me, I have always placed value on what I have learned from them and where we come from. My big, small-town family gave me a sense of what it means to help others, how we can accomplish this goal, and for what reasons.
