Part One Paragraph
From what I know about The Sound of Music and Surviving The Applewhites, I know a few similarities and differences. One of the shallower differences is that the Von Trapp family only sings, dances, and plays guitar, while the Applewhite family has a variety of skills. A similarity that they share is that they both work for what they commit to. These comparisons and contrast show one of the themes, which is determination. The other theme is change, which is shown through Austria in The Sound of Music and through Jake and E.D. in Surviving the Applewhites. There is one final difference. However, this does not tie into any of the themes. It is that the Applewhites most likely were not in as much danger as the Von Trapp family.
According to the article "This Apple Could Have Been Saved" by Kristin Lewis and the Informational text there are many ways to reduce food and explain how food is wasted. In the U.S so much unneeded food waste that can easily be avoided. One way food waste could be reduced is composting. One way to food gets wasted is by throwing away left overs. This is one of the most common ways that unneeded food waste is collected. Instead of people saving or even composting there left over food they often choose to be lazy and throw it away. People should instead save these left overs for later. According to the informational text leftovers like veggies can be made to make soup, casseroles and other tasty recipes. Also, in the article it says "Cow skins
Four years ago, the first iPhone was released and it still remains as a popular aspect of our technological culture today. Though it is in its fourth iteration with more to come, the iPhone continues to be one of the best selling smartphones. In a fast paced world with new technology constantly being released, the iPhone is still remarkable although some might argue that it is outdated and overhyped. This device is more than just a phone to consumers, but another way to connect with the world. There’s just something about this device that has Americans camping outside Apple stores and enduring long lines to get their hands on one. Although the iPhone may seem like just another smartphone, it is a cultural phenomenon because of the way it

Jobs also asked his former colleague from Atari, Ronald Wayne to join them in their startup. Wayne designed the first Apple logo. In early 1976 Jobs approached a local company store, The Byte Shop, said they would be interested in the machine, but only if it came completely assembled (Foljanty, 2010). The Applewhite and Von Trapp families are very different in their lifestyles and interests yet have very similar families. For example, the families are similar because they are quite large and work together to solve their problems. At the beginning of both the book and the movie, the family members did not get along with each other and a member of each family, Liesel and E.D., wished to not be part of their family.
In Surviving the Applewhites the main idea is, that with determination anything is possible. This is shown in how the Applewhites, dedicated themselves to the production of The Sound of Music, even when it was being canceled they didn’t give up and put on the play in their own residence. The Von Trapps relate to the theme because of how determined Captain Trapp was to stay true to himself and not give into the Nazi’s request. Despite the Von Trapps knowing that as soon as they finished their performance in the Kaltzberg music festival their father or husband would be taken away, they still sang beautifully determined to touch the hearts of the audience. The Applewhites were persistent in doing the production their own way in Randolph's vision, and make the show amazing despite others doubts.

How many times have you thrown away a half eaten apple or a bag of chips that you just could not finish? Now multiply that by 318.9 million give or take a few million. In the story “This Apple Could Have Been Saved” Kristin Lewis states that many Americans waste much more food than we should. Two ideas for reducing food waste are one what to do before and in the process of eating, and two what to do after eating.Three ways to reduce food waste before and in the process of eating. One way is to use smaller plates. If you use a big plate then you will be misled into believing that you would be able to eat it all. So next meal you are going to eat just grab a smaller plate and eventually it will just become a reflex. So why is this important, it is important because it will have people pile less on their plates which means less food be wasted plus you can always just get seconds. The second way is to eat ugly produce. Grocery stores throw away one-third of all the food it produces 133 billion pounds of food each year. Most of that is produce that looks different or has one little bruise. So next time you go
There are various threats in the external environment that influences Apple. Rapid technological development and change is a problem, the company might be set aside by a competitor who invents a newer technology. Tax increases have also influenced Apple. Apple’s profits went down due to new taxes. Patent breaches pose a huge threat, competitors might imitate their technology and make profit on these features. Appreciation of the dollar, Apple’s profits in foreign countries are reduced due to strengthening the dollar. Increasing labor costs in Asia, the protests of workers in Asia, especially Foxconn
I am writing you in regards to This American Life’s retraction of its episode “Mr.Daisey and the Apple Factory”.Although the excerpt you gave was partially fabricated from what I understand from the retraction episode all the things you mentioned are actually happening in China. Just because you didn't see them yourself doesn't mean you shouldn't have mentioned them. To me it seems like you thought just that. You saw your visit as a piece of the pie and you wanted the whole pie but you didn't have it.
