Survivors of the Wild Dear readers, I am going to tell you how a few friends and I escaped from the great Rocky Mountains in 2017, but first I should tell you a little about myself. I’m now 25, I was born in the state of Maryland and still live there today, I moved back from Colorado. I obtain dirty blonde with blue eyes, I’ve always been a Daddy’s girl, I also love hunting, reading, art, and my favorite animal is a wolf or a dog. So now you know who I am, I hope you enjoy. My friends and I love the great outdoors, therefore wanted to have fun and have a great adventure together before we became older, afterward we thought of the great idea of going to the “Rockies”. By
In the articles “Desegregating Wilderness” and “At Risk” by Jourdan Imani Keith, the author connects the issues between race and nature. Keith connects the study of nature to the issues of race by labeling the urban youth “at risk” due to the lack of reliable sources, and also labels the chinook salmon population being “at risk” of extinction. Keith also connects the study of nature to the issues of race by portraying the aspects of “desegregating” in wilderness and race. Segregation is to set something or someone apart. In the most part we understand segregation as racial segregation but, there can also be segregation of nature.
By the time European adventurers came to North America, a lot of things were already not in favor of the Native American people. They had problems ranging from a bad economy to weak empires. Of the many problems, there was also natural disasters that created distress amongst the tribes. These problems are what helped the European adventurers to be able to somewhat easily defeat the European adventurers.
If people did not know already, money is said to be the root of all evil. Nothing solidifies this biblical quote quite like what transpired to the Osage Tribe. While the FBI argued that the United States government officials worked to benefit the Native American tribe, it is my research that contradicts this by saying that the Osage Tribe were the targets of multiple conspiracies to steal and kill and the FBI was a part of it, taking into consideration 1) they sent people to “oversee” the Osage tribe money unnecessarily; 2) they knew about the suspicious killings happening to the tribe upon receiving their money, but neglected to intervene in time; and 3) they planned all of the Osage tribe’s misfortunes in the attempts to eradicate the bad
Life can be pretty stressful, and at times I feel the need to escape. When life’s pressures build to a critical mass my favorite place to go is Collier Township’s Panhandle trail, with its long hiking, and bike riding path, the more secluded hiking trails set deep in the woods, and fossil cliff it’s the ideal place to escape this mad mad world. I begin my journey at the start of the trail that stretches from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. The sound of tiny stones crunch under my feet as I walk, birds fly through a vibrant blue sky, and come to rest perched high in the trees that frame the walking, and bike trail. I continue down the trail for a quarter of a mile reading the small signs placed on the edge of the path set there to inform you of
Wolves have always been a symbol of the wild, free in spirit and roamers of the land. These animals are considered majestic and protectors of the wilderness. They have always roamed the western United States, although their population has fluctuated over time. Over the past 10 years wolf reintroduction into Yellowstone National Park has been a controversial topic to those of the United States. As of 1995, wolves have been reintroduced into the park. This has come with some strong opposition and yet has prevailed. The future of the wolf in Yellowstone park is now looking bright, although not certain since there still are those who want them banished again.
I have embarked on multiple two week long hiking trips to Montana, Alaska, Canada, and New Mexico in order to witness, first hand, the

Even though I was born in London, grew up in New York and live in a large cosmopolitan city with year-round beach access, I do miss the mountains. My exposure to the works of John McPhee, Edward Abby and Wallace Stegner, compelled me to move beyond the 100th meridian, which is where I intend to remain for the indefinite future. I feel as though my better self inhabits the wide-open spaces of the American West from slick-rock canyons to glaciers. The terrain often beacons, which is one of the reasons why I’m contacting
Survival was key if you wanted to stay alive in the wild west. The days in the wild west were hard so survival was important back then. The hardest part of staying alive in the wild west is the cowboys and indians. The cowboys and indians were dangerous back then because the cowboys had guns and the indians had spears. The wild animals were also dangerous and they killed other animals.

I have hiked mountains in the Rockies so many times before, my first hike ever was in the Rockies for a matter of fact all but a few have been in the Rockies. So why would I want to spend my last hiking trip just in the Rockies? The Rockies are my home away from home where I have spent all my summers since I was 7 and my favorite place on earth. While I have hiked so much of the Rockies there is still endless destinations to tackle. Rockies being the place I fell in love with hiking will be the place I end my hiking adventure.
From the very beginning of this nation's history, wilderness has been a fundamental ingredient. The first European settlers found and battled against it upon their arrival. The western explorers and wagon trains sought to wrestle farmland from the wilderness's grip to build cities, farms and homes. It was not until the reality of its finite availability, that it was viewed as anything other than an opponent and menace. These changing attitudes began a new battle for preservation and protection of the wilderness that remained. The nation's attitude transformation was testimony to a new focus and value for wilderness. This new disposition declared that the preservation and maintenance of
After an exhaustive and tiresome show, a young Britney Spears was prepared to crumple on the lounge chair in her changing area. Advancing toward the back of the amphitheater, the shouts of the audience were reverberating in the halls, Britney rapidly snuck inside her changing area and thudded down in her seat. Britney began scanning the room. These changing areas were beginning to have striking resemblance to all the other rooms - a washroom/shower off to the side, a large couch in the focal point of the room, a table covered with a wide range of food and beverages. It was dependably the same as always and Britney was becoming weary of it. She was a pop star. She was cherished by a large number of young ladies and by significantly more a large
Would the average person be able to survive if they were in the forest. It is also about the different foods in the forest. A person needs to know what kind of plants are poisonous and which one are edible. One also needs to know where to find food. Different foods will provide nutrients and protein. Someone trying to survive in the forest also needs to know how to prepare it. That is going to be life or death in the forest. Surviving in the forest is possible if one knows what kind of food is there, how to find it, and how to prepare it properly to eat.
