Thank you for speaking with me this morning about the project management position available with Sutter Health, Sacramento. Your insights and position description information were very helpful in understanding what role the organization is seeking to fill with their next Project Coordinator. I am confident in my skills, knowledge, education and ability in Project Management and Public Policy and Administration would make me a good fit to fulfill the roles, responsibilities and duties outlined in the position description; to organize their project processes and report and present information on project outcomes to interested stakeholders, team members, staff and clients etc.

I am interested in finding a position that will last permanently. I am available to start in a new position as early as possible. I am currently taking the course, Medical Assistant in Central New Mexico. My classes already tackled the basic and proficient necessity in assisting customers such as via email, phone, face to face, scheduling patients, billing information. I have a good communication skills to interact with patients, my superior and peers.

For all of this to happen it will require for the corporate stakeholders and financial department to agree to the budget, and remodeling project. In addition to the facility staff and patients to handle the remodeling around the increase care that will be needed to maintain the patients’ safety

The Design & Development discipline will assist its clients with major renovations to existing health care buildings or the design and construction of new facilities. In this capacity it will serve as the Owner’s representative in either the management of design and/or construction of the project and lead the team to ensure the owner’s needs are met via the construction of the new facilitiy. In this role it will leverage leading practices in the areas of Building Information Modeling and Sustainable Design to create a compelling lasting space that instill a level of comfort in its customers’ patients and family members. Promoting excellent healthcare is very important in every society. With the decrease in public health and the increase cost of medical technology, many healthcare facilities are facing the challenges of patient billing and the inadequate resources to cover the hospital accounts. This is a key problem and issue one predominate hospital face in California. California Sutter Health managed to achieve this desired goal in the accounting system of patient’s hospital billing. California Sutter Health is a not-for-profit health system in Northern California, that includes doctors, hospitals and other health care services.

For the first week, you are required to research health care facilities in your area that are either new or are being renovated, and that will help you select your project focus. Your selections will be limited to an ambulatory care clinic, a clinic within a hospital, such as an emergency room, surgical center, or an OB unit, a family clinic, an outpatient clinic, or a long-term care facility.

From the start of my work term, I was assigned the Joseph Brant Hospital project and team. There are seven stages in the projects development, which are; consult/planning schematic design, design development, construction document, bidding / negotiations, construction and post construction. I joined the firm during the construction document phase, so most of my tasks were centered on developing the interior plan of the hospital and have sheets ready for submission. The tasks I performed were focused mainly on enhancing team effectiveness. Been the nurse Informatics and Project Manage, I leading all the new project with new technology at the WPB VA. As project Manager always know that is important to have a clearly identify the critical path that will assist us to manage the project. Recently I just started a new project for the nurses improve the way of communication between staff and patients. Right now we are at the beginning of it; getting all the key staff for the project, setting up the timeline and establish the critical path that will help. Having the right team and monitor the project closely it can be a successful project. “It is vital to the success of any project that one unifying foundation be established for the project controls system.” (Hobb and Sheafer, 2003)

The patient is the most important stakeholder making healthcare design crucial. Also, to reduce the number of errors in healthcare, it is imperative to build a plan that will further decrease the number of errors to ensure the safety of the patients. Also, to eliminate the inefficiencies in the delivery of care and to increase the response time for patients. Another critical need of the patients design should include patient-centeredness that can give the patient access to health information, signs that are noticeable to locate various areas of a hospital, and adequate space for relatives (Reiling, Hughes, & Murphy, 2008). The facility should have the appropriate equipment, technology, and health providers to give the correct medical care

The most time-consuming project was the research into prehospital cardiac arrest survival I initiated after the negative experience described in my AMCAS personal statement. After researching successful models around the country I developed a PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycle for implementing change. The PDSA cycle was approved by my supervisors, medical control physician, and general manager. As the project manager, I utilized an interdisciplinary approach, involving various individuals each with their own specialties. Collaborating with the clinical coordinator, data and statistics were analyzed while monitoring performance measurements. I was also responsible for creating and presenting a training program from employees.

The varied workforce often has difficulty with interdisciplinary collaboration regarding projects. Project management is successful in other industries; therefore, it is a reasonable assumption that it will work in healthcare; however, due to the healthcare professional’s difficulty with project management concepts, introducing project management into a healthcare organization provides some challenges. I already discussed that the complexities of healthcare are a primary reason for HIT failures, and since most healthcare professionals are not well-versed in project management, they most likely will not be the project manager. Therefore, someone without healthcare experience may be given the role of a project manager which creates
