Taxes and the Deficit: We MUST Return to the Fundamentals of our Constitution

The United States of America is not leading into the direction our country was meant to lead. Our Forefathers that came before us and settled in the United Sates, fled here to be free from tyranny. They were escaping from Great Britain’s strict control and harsh taxation. After settling in America the Constitution was drafted to “form a perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity (Preamble to the United States Constitution).” After reading the preamble, I reread, and wondered how can the US be in the situation were in, if that is what our country ‘was’ built on? Our economy is being stimulated with money that isn’t even worth its ‘actual’ value. There are two options for us right now, we can confront our government by tearing down the ‘fraud’ or we can allow our government to continue to create control and tyranny. Anymore, the law is useless against the government, because they don’t abide, but we have to. Our freedom and truth as we know it will no longer exist, but tyranny will become.

As Americans I don’t believe that we actually OWE taxes, but rather it’s the right thing to do for the good of our country. The biggest fear dealing with taxes is, if we don’t pay taxes what will happen to us? The government will lose a significant source of revenue. Individual income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, corporate taxes, property taxes, and miscellaneous taxes dominate Americans tax burden. Although, tax credits are helping households to pay off their taxes, but again that money can be used how you so please. “Despite all these tax reductions, Americans will pay more taxes in 2010 than they will spend on food, clothing and shelter combined (Tax Foundation).” The big question is can we get out of this hole we’ve dug ourselves into? And what can I do to better my future, and the future of my family? Over time with reform of American people’s spending habits, and within our government, I hope we can
