TEACHER EDUCATION SCENARIO IN INDIA TO ENSURE QUALITY UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION
The intent of the present paper is to enhance the teacher education quality in India by focusing on the emerging issues & related concerns. Various issues of teacher education namely, institutional inertia, brand inequity, quality crisis, overgrowing establishment, rare humane and professional teachers, poor integration of skills, alienated and incompatible modes of teacher education, little contribution to higher education, domain pedagogy mismatches, identity crisis, rare innovations, stake holders ' non-alignment, inadequate technology infusion, little choice base, poor research scenario, vision and vision mismatches, non-scientific manpower planning, illusive laboratories, over activism of distance/open universities, invalid recognition and accreditation and no teacher education policy have been dwelt on in this paper. The paper concludes that teacher education system in India calls for revolutionary changes. KEYWORDS:

The feelings of isolation affect the perceptions and it may increase the nervousness among the teachers too that directly harms in the delivery of education. The teachers should be motivated towards their work and it helps them to do good communication among the students and other teachers as well which brings the positive results. Beginners can be helped a lot through this motivation process as they are not alone in their experience. They can get proper information and can make a use of other’s experience so that they can overcome the challenges and become successful teachers. Another reason mentioned in the article is the identifying perceptions of initial year teachers to collect the information which can be used by various lecturers, trainers, and many other educators who in turn trains or prepares the teachers in the field of education. I interviewed a teacher from Seckman High School named Lori Bunting. I asked Lori several questions and she gave me more insight on the teaching career. Lori graduated from Southeast Missouri State in in 2000 with her Bachelors in Secondary Education and Mathematics. She then received her masters in classroom teaching in 2008 from Missouri Baptist University. With student teaching in my near future I thought asking her about her student teacher experience would give me some advice on what my next steps are. Lori student taught at two different schools and for eight weeks each. The first place she student taught was at Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Missouri. Lori stated that the school was very small and only had one math teacher. She said this gave her an insight of what it would feel like to teach in a small school. On the other hand, she also taught at Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She said she really enjoyed this experience because the school was much bigger and she felt more involved in the school. She said that unlike today, she had no choice of where she student taught but she was grateful for the experience she had at both Oak Ridge High School and Cape Central High School.
Education is an essential part in an ever growing society. It provides students the knowledge that they will use in their everyday lives. The professor that teach the students, go through a very complex training. This training make sure the person is qualified to teach. The training was had some changes from the past to the present.
The United States is currently facing a difficult time with teacher shortages. In North Carolina alone, 14.8 percent of teachers left the profession in the school years of 2014-2015 according to the Public School Forum (Barth et al. 23). Teacher shortage is a crucial topic to keep at the forefront of discussion because it affects the quality of education that students receive and, subsequently, the future of the United States. It is crucial for the United States to enhance student performance in order for the economy and our technological industry to continue improving. One factor that causes the teacher shortage are the different qualifications needed in order to get certified to teach in a certain subject. However, even after completing these qualifications, there have still been cases in which teachers are not being hired because they are either over-qualified or under-qualified. In addition to these educational barriers, North Carolina has some of the lowest numbers for teacher salaries which has led to a decrease of people desiring to enter into this profession and, as a result, those people choose to not major in education or move to other states to teach instead. After all this, it is very clear that one has to be passionate about working in the education profession. The issue of teacher shortage today is continuing to grow. The effects of the achievement gap are reaching the teachers, not just the students: “...good administrators and teachers, who are doing their best under difficult circumstances, will be driven out of the profession…,” (Boyd-Zaharias 41). The achievement gap is part of the reason teachers feel they are underpaid, which happens to be one of the leading cause in teacher shortage considering, “Teachers were paid two percent less [than comparable workers] in 1994, but by 2015 the wage penalty rose to 17 percent,” (Long). Being a teacher requires passion in order to stay in the field, especially if the money in teaching is decreasing. Money is an important aspect for people when it comes to their careers, therefore, fewer people want to become teachers. This lack of teachers and the lack of college students studying to become a teacher leads to unqualified teachers and larger classroom sizes (Ostroff). Both of these causes are eventually affecting students’ learning environments. I chose this issue in education for my project because I have personally felt these effects, and I know others who have as well. As a future educator, I want to see better wages and better benefits, but this can only happen with qualified, passionate teachers. I plan on being one of them, and I plan on sparking a change. I am a future educator fighting to end teacher shortage.
The purpose of American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) is to ensure good educational institutes around US. It regulates and checks almost 800different institutes. The quality of the programs, classrooms, education is been checked by AACTE. Their main aim is to serve the learners so that they could be enlightened with light and they fulfill the purpose of the regulator as well. The professionalism is been checked up to the mark and equity among the learners is being insured in this institute (Aacte.org, 2016).
My capstone is about education and training. My assignment in front of you is what I want to become. I love working with young children. They always put a smile on my face and watching them grow is amazing. Freshman year I took Mrs. Lynn Davis’s Early Childhood class. Taking her class opened my eyes, when deciding what career I want. The first three years of this pathway involved learning basic educational needs of children of ages from birth to age ten. Now, as a senior at Calhoun High School, I'm still taking Mrs.Davis’s class.
