Are you a bookworm or a movie enthusiast? Everyone loves to venture through the lands of fantasy once in a while, whether it be through paper or screen. In my opinion, The 5th wave book is a much more powerful storytelling device, as it has a lot more depth. I think it has a lot more detail about the characters and the plot has more tiny details that makes it have again, more depth. Throughout this essay, I will show you how the book has much more depth from detail, from Crisco to the blizzard. To begin with, Crisco does not exist in the movie. In the book, our favorite loser creep digs out dead peoples valuables to sell. When Cassie goes away with the soldier to get Crisco, the soldier shoots him in cold blood, following that, Cassie shoots the soldier and runs away. In the movie, when the bus ditches her, Cassie simply runs away when she hears the gunfire. I feel that the book was more impactful than the film because when Cassie sees the soldier murder Crisco, she gets the first taste that maybe the soldiers are not as good as they claim. In the book, there is a massive blizzard after she is shot and goes inside the car. Whereas, in the movie, there is no blizzard, only the crowded highway. That in my opinion, added another small bit of detail that altogether makes the book better and deeper. Another reason this impacts the story is because when she passes out, she is in much more danger, as she could bleed out, freeze to death, or starve/die from dehydration. Lastly, this is important because although they both reach the same conclusion, Evan rescuing her and taking her to his house to patch her up, the book has the blizzard which just builds suspense and makes the book more intense. That reason shows that the book, my favorite version of The 5th Wave, the the best storytelling
