The first three habits are directed towards their own success, and three on public or achievements victory for the environment, and the last habit on ability and need to continually improve. When we discuss habits, it is necessary to mention the terms knowledge, skill and desire. These conjugates involve the achievement of the first. Therefore to be highly effective means to do different things, changing paradigms, theories, characters, attitudes and above all develop principles that achieve effectiveness and efficiency in daily work. The first relates to the habits proactivity, which is nothing more than the ability to take initiative to carry out projects and tasks, as well as being responsible for our actions and decisions, be they good or bad. Or put another way, recognizing our responsibility to do and not do, and put the best efforts to get things done. Importantly, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People understand not change the lives of people and organizations in days or weeks, but rather to change from the inside out, in the long term but with the difference that is to lifetime. Its primary focuses are how to take control of your life, set and achieve goals, build friendships, maintain quality relationships, withstand peer pressure, and improve self-image. It consists of seven habits- Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the saw. These habits are each designed to help you lead your best life. From this book, I have learned to take care of and love myself, maintain healthy relationships with others, work towards my goals, and resist anything that could potentially harm me or prevent me from doing these things.
Over the summer, I read a book titled, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Convey. The seven habits described in this book were being proactive, Beginning with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand, then to be understood; synergize, and sharpen the saw. The first habit Being proactive means not to make choices on impulse. it means to evaluate the situation before making a desicion. for example, two years ago when i had friends that talked behind my back i just moved on and found better friends rather than be mean to them or excluding them out of my way. The second habit Beginning with the end in mind means to think ahead at what your goals are and start working towards them. My goal for the eight grade year was to recieve a 95% or higher score in all of my classes. in order to realize this goal i worked hard through the year on assignments and and sometimes did more than what was expected of me during projects. in the end, though,
After completing the seven habits profile, my lowest categories were emotional bank account, life balance, be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, seek first to understand, and sharpen the saw.

I am in pursuit of the best version of myself and that version is at the Liberty Honors Program. This habit inculcates the ability to create our desired results mentally first in accordance to our guiding principles, and then maintain this vision throughout our daily activities. Part of the process of developing this habit is to develop a personal mission statement, philosophy, or creed. This mission statement focus on what you want to be and do. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a modified version of his father’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Unlike Stephen Covey, who wrote his book with the audience of adults in mind, his son’s book is targeted towards teens. “ Covey avoids the academic writing style that one will find in Stephen’s and delivers the seven habits model in an easy to read, humorous style that does not lose any of the impact of the seven habits” (Change Management Coach). Being both entertaining and visually appealing, Covey goes deep into the seven habits while adding life experiences of both him and family. Included are also the stories of teens around the country. Each habit builds upon the next; therefore you cannot have habit two and three without habit one. Although together, the habits makeup an effective teen, separately, they each help in different ways, mentally and socially.

‘Strategies for Lifelong Learning’ has been unexpectedly and therapeutically revealing. Throughout our correspondence we’ve shared personal, and professional challenges, and wins. In doing so, I’ve come to realize strengths and areas for improvement, which is why I chose to discuss the second habit from the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, titled; ‘Begin With the End in Mind’.
I know for certainty that this is a habit I desperately need to acquire because mostly everything that I do is based on urgency. I always feel like I 'm working with unreasonable deadlines. I know that I 'll be more effective and productive once I 've been able to prioritize my tasks based on importance rather than urgency.
