Twitter Facebook, and Instagram are all social networks commonly used to communicate and associate with relatives and peers, as well as professional colleagues. In addition, investigating the increased use of social media and its potential for increased conflict and development of ideas, allows for a general sense of the use of rhetoric on social media to be identified. Furthermore, relating the above topics with the political discussion, allows for the development of ideas regarding the use of rhetoric on social media and the discussion of politics. A social network, as defined by Oxford Dictionaries, is “A dedicated website or other application which enables users to communicate with each other by posting information, comments, messages, images, etc.”( Facebook is one of the largest social networks in the world, millions of users in Canada alone access Facebook daily.
