“In this life, we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not. Many of our choices are between good and evil. The choices we make, however, determine to a large extent our happiness or our unhappiness, because we have to live with the consequences of our choices” (James E. Faust)
The aftermath of war is very disastrous and affects all spheres of life most especially the social and psychological aspects. Amid war, a high number of casualties are reported and most survivors suffer setbacks, which could go as far as being long lasting in nature. Decisions people make in life have different consequences and they can end either up good or bad. Through the history of humanity, it is clear that the courageous and gallant acts of duty can be destructive and cause regrets. While the aftermath of World War II is often referred to as one of the primary creators of deep rooted turmoil in the Middle East region, the effects of the Cold War and the United States often over-zealous battle against communism is just as much a contributor if not more. The Arab world and the Middle East region were clearly going through quite an extraordinary period throughout World War II and its conclusion, primarily with the creation of most of the states we recognize today and struggling with the continuation of colonialism. These factors set the stage for the emergence of strong nationalist sentiments and Pan-Arab movements across the Middle East. Unfortunately, and much to the detriment of the region, the leaders of these young

Although several aspects of life are predetermined, there are moments people have control over their fate. For example, no one has control over death, and even though many refuse their undeniable fate, it cannot be avoided. However, there are choices we make that mold our future, thus, changing our fate. On various occasions, there will be a fork in one’s path, and that person will have to choose which journey to take. In life, there are small, ineffective decisions you have to resolve, but there are also larger, life altering choices. Of course, others may feel the same way about fate, or entirely different. In fact, since the beginning of time, authors of literature have discussed their ideas on such matters, a few examples being Dr. Seuss, Charles Dickens, and Edgar Allen Poe. These authors, famous for their thought provoking literary work, provide differing opinions on the fate and destiny of a human being through the use of allegory.
The book named Three Day Road by Canadian author Joseph Boyden depicts real Canadian historical events during the first World War. The other parts of the book are told by Niska, Xavier’s aunt who had raised both Xavier and Elijah in the wilderness. Niska throughout the book talks about her past life as a windigo killer, and the hardships she experienced that in return, shaped her into the strong woman she has become.

WWII and the Holocaust are two of the most horrific events in history. WWII was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945 and was the deadliest war in history. Adolf Hitler came into power in 1933 and remained in power throughout the rest of WWII. Hitler was disobeying the restrictions put on him by Treaty of Versaille and was gaining power. Other countries saw how powerful Germany was getting and didn 't want to get in Hitler 's way. They were scared that if they confronted him he would want to attack them. This was bad because WWI had ended about 15-20 years before this time and most of the countries armies were still weak. These countries were also trying to repair their financial problems due to the fact that they were in a world wide depression. He took advantage of this power and made an army of soldiers that exceeded the amount of soldiers Germany was able to have according to The Treaty of Versaille. Hitler wanted to take over the world and have the Aryan race rule above everyone else. He believed that, to do so, he would have to get rid of the non-aryans. This included gypsies, homosexuals, and the disabled. The mass killing of Jews was called the Holocaust. It got this name because many Jews died by being burned in furnaces and fire pits. The meaning of the word literally means destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war. They were also put into concentration camps and death camps in order to
Has there ever been a time where a nation is unaffected after a war they were a part of? It is very unlikely every nation that takes part in a war is effected but may not show it. America is not immune to these effects but no one really wants to address them or resolve them. And because of that wars around the world have affected service members, their families and the society in America in many ways; ignorance of these effects often results in the affected from getting the help they need.
When asked how he felt about the deaths of 9 /11, Pablo Sequera , a 22 year old US army soldier in Iraq said "I wanted to bomb the fuck out of every single one of them towel heads". Now fighting in Iraq he says he has grown more sympathy and understanding toward Middle Eastern people. "Actually being up close, watching how they live every day in violence, has given me even more ambition to help them gain freedom" said Sequera. War will always change a person whether it's physically or mentally, a soldier never leaves the way he came in. The smells of gunfire, the loud ping of bullets bouncing off of metal, the vibrations of grenades exploding nearby, and the taste of their own fear climbing up into their throat will always remain close to
War is strongly ingrained into our world today whether we like it or not and while it may seem more prevalent and worse lately considering the advances in technology and the increase in hysteria over security, war is not a recent adjunct to society. That poses the question, where does war come from? As human beings, are we hard-wired biologically to fight each other or is it a behaviour influenced by peers and morals?
