We had four age groups in the surveys made by my group; 12-19, 20-29, 30-40, and 40 and above. The main thing I wanted to pull from our surveys was how different the age groups perceived massage, but also how gender had an effect. Much to my surprise it really differed, most people had completely different feelings and understandings about massage within the ages of 12-29 and the ages of 30 and up. The ages had differences in opinion on certain things such as card payments, online versus calling to book and music options, but less on things like services offered, diligence, regular appointments and previous massages. This just shows that you have to be able to appeal to all ages, it is important to stay on top of technology to keep up with the millennials who will only use modern devices. My favorite question of all was; would you be comfortable with your spouse getting a massage from a therapist of the opposite sex? From the ages of 12 to 29 almost every person said no, from 30 and up every person surveyed said yes. Not only do I think this has a lot to do with massage, I think it has a lot to do with society in general. As a massage therapist I think it means a lot for your business to be a woman, as sad as that is. Women are comfortable with women and most of the customer base is women, but also men are more comfortable with women too. In almost every age group the people who had never had a massage were men. Now, I am not one to be sexist but with work that a lot
One important role massage therapist has, is to make the client feel comfortable. The more experience you have within this field, the more confident the therapist would be during a massage session. The idea of the client feeling safe, emotional and/or psychologically, is the a way to receive an effective session (Porcino,2014). The more the client feels complacent, the more the client will be willing to return. Also if the client feels safe, the number of lawsuits would decrease. The American Massage Therapy Association’s Rules of Ethics(2) states that practitioners shall be truthful in advertising and marketing, and refrain from misrepresenting his or her services, charges for services, credentials, training, experience, ability or results
Stretched tendons, torn muscles, and sprained joints are all things that can be healed by vets or even better equine massage therapists. Equine injuries are inevitable; recovering from an injury can be very complicated and costly; however there is an alternative. Moreover, Massage Envy will be the best franchise option, since Massage Envy has the highest market share and net worth. Massage Envy will also be the best franchise because I will be able to help others achieve a healthier lifestyle by getting rid of an individual "every day stresses, reduce muscle pain, help alleviate the discomfort of certain ailments or just help restore balance to [an individual's] body and mind" ("New to Massage", 2016, Para. 2). Particularly, I seek to do the following in the upcoming year:
The PROMOTION we will run to promote our massage therapy treatment is to offer the first two treatments for free in conjunction with their normal home health services. We will actually have patient testimonies from patients posted on our brochure for those patients that have already experienced out massage therapy treatment. Next to the testimonies we will have an elderly disabled patient rise from the massage table with a
In my work setting, they come with a few years experience already. The millennials have tremendous enthusiasm and thirst to learn. This generation is quick with any change and is easy to adapt; this helps within the emergency room. The Millenials readily ask for more help or demand longer orientation. I have not seen the other generations take care of themselves as well as the Mellenials, not sure if this is a bad thing but it occasionally stops me in my tracks; I could never have done that or talked that way to my manager as a new nurse. They appear more empowered to seek justice and aren't happy with just doing something because that is the way it always has been done. The younger generation challenges me to grow and look at situations or procedures with fresh eyes. Technology comes as second nature to this group. Technology can be a hindrance as well, the phones appear to be an issue, but often they are using this technology at their fingertips for work, looking up drugs, calculating doses, and looking up a condition. The seasoned nurses assume they are slacking off or finished all their work and are sitting there and that is frustrating and builds contention. I find they do not look to apologize for being viewed this way; they know their work is up to par and won’t apologize for having some time. As a manager, I have been reflecting upon this quite a bit lately, the families become annoyed, yet when asked

What does back pain, neck tension, headaches and anxiety all have in common? They are all treatable issues that can be relieved or treated through massage therapy. Stress-related symptoms are one potential treatment option for massage therapy. Massage may also be used to treat muscular pain following strenuous exercise. Tiffany Field, head of Psychology at the University of Miami School of Medicine's Touch Research Institute, explains that massage can limit our bodies fight or flight response associated with stressful or fearful situations. In university, many students will experience stressful moments with assignments, exams, and projects. What many students are unaware of, is how stress negatively impacts mental and physical health. Through the use of massage therapy, students can relieve stress and even sleep better at night. Massage can be used to cope with mood disorders and relieve muscle pain or tension. Field explains massage can increase blood flow and circulation of oxygen or nutrients throughout the muscles, as a method of removing metabolic wastes such as lactic acid that are produced through exercise (58). Massage is an excellent treatment for stress, pain, and sleep deprivation. With a massage therapy clinic on campus, charging at reduced rates, students would benefit by having the opportunity to improve their quality of sleep, limit emotional issues they may be feeling, improve their athletic performance and improve their academic performance.
I felt like I was reborn and saved from the pit of darkness that I was trapped in. My wife was ecstatic about the positive change and enjoyed me practicing massage on her. When it came time for me to sign up for my next set of massage courses, she decided to jump on board and signed up for many of the same classes. I had been so lost and emotionally cut off; it was a great feeling to finally let her in. We instantly became more intimate, not just physically but emotionally. Often people are confused or uneducated about massage. Massage is not about happy endings or sex. Assuming that often insults/irritates the therapist and the overall profession. Massage is about healing on a physical and emotional level. Massage is very intimate because of the fact that it is extremely vital to have human connection and touch to live. For example, the majority of our clients are either dealing with some type of trauma, injury and stress. Then you have individuals who are single, living alone and just need to feel a man or a woman touch them. The power of touch is crucial and
Swelling/Poor Circulation - massage chairs that have calf and foot massagers can provide a successive compression of the legs to enhance circulation of blood and lymph. This may not only reduce swelling (edema), but also help the body remove unwanted toxins that are in your system. Those toxins may also be contributing to your muscle pain.

It’s continued growth will lead into increase of employment for this job. These services may become a part of treating plans. Offers specific benefits that will lead to overall growth. Demand for massage therapists should grow among older age groups because they increasingly are enjoying longer, more active lives. Massage clinic franchises have increased in recent years. The job outlook for this is going really good so far. The salary for average massage therapists are $35,970 a year (may 2012). The benefits of this job are, you can easily make new friends with people and chat with them while you’re giving them the massage. Also, when you have worked for a long time, say a month, you can get breaks/mini vacations so your body can get a rest. Also, it can be considered as “easy money”. But there are also negatives to this job. A licensed therapeutic masseuse have different training credentials from a non-therapeutic masseuse, not everyone feels comfortable touching another person and can make it seem “awkward”, accidental injuries, unintentional aftereffects, stability/tiredness, physical
Many people pass this concrete stucco looking office on the strip mall. Most people who pass by may go to the bar next door to Dr. Mason’s chiropractic office. No one pays much attention to a place where all the windows are low tinted dark with a door that has the word doctor on it. People only look for doctors when they are injured or sick. I’m sure the lighted Budlight sign flashing and smell of food attract more people.
If you regularly feel extremely stressed out, you need to find ways to manage and reduce your stress. Being excessively stressed out is not good for your health in the short or long term. Here are three ways that therapeutic massage therapy can help you manage your stress.
Central Idea: Massage therapy is practiced all over the world and has both emotional and physical benefits when received on a regular basis.
When Dove first launched their “Real Women Campaign”, their target age group was women between 30 and 39 that had never used skin firming products. This age group was ideal for Dove to target because their current brand image was considered emotionally dated and
