Aging is inevitable; as people age in the second half of life, the body often faces some challenges mentally and physically. Aging was defined by Robert Arking (1998), as a “ Time-dependent series of cumulative, progressive, intrinsic, and harmful changes that begin to manifest at reproductive maturity and eventually end in death” (p. 520). The aging process for the older adults is influenced by many aspects, including socioeconomic status, age, education, and scale of physical and cognitive functioning. As people get older, their financial status, security, health, employment, productivity, and independence are all significant parts of the process. Some older adults experience illnesses that come with aging, and the illnesses do not distinguish by culture or religion. Friendships that have grown up throughout the years are a significant aspect of aging well, although for some older people it becomes difficult to keep in touch with friends, family, society, or other loved ones. Financial status may become limited as a person ages. Successful aging is one of the most significant ideas in gerontology (Katz & Calasanti, 2015). Utilized as a model, a concept, an approach, an experience, and an outcome, it has inspired investigators to create related terms such as “healthy,” “positive,” “active,” “productive,” and “effective” aging (Katz & Calasanti, 2015).
