An American is someone who shows bravery, courage, and takes all opportunities that come their way. America accepts immigrants from all of the world, but a true American is someone who shows bravery, courage, can use any obstacle as motivation, and uses every opportunity to rise as high as they are willing to work.

The idea of America is one that is complex while remaining undeniably simple. Freedom is at the core of this country’s existence. Without freedom the United States of America would be just another continent, no different from any other sovereignty that lies on this planet. Believing that people were

Intro: Freedom and military. Who fought for us to have peace and prosperity? What did we as Americans have to keep these things? We fought, rebelled, and did everything we could to obtain these rights we so much deserved. The America I believe in has a foundation in it freedoms and military.

Without the diversified Americans that contribute to the constant modification of America and it’s various cultures, and without the continued belief that there is always improvement, America would not be half the country it is praised as. America consists of several different types of individuals that each play their own part within society and are able to express their views without fear of repercussions.

America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.” Every person should have the opportunity to achieve their own dreams and goals. Every individual is entitled to the right to stand up and fight for themselves. I am very appreciative of the fact that America provides me with the beautiful gift of freedom. I believe in our nation because of our people’s generosity, diversity, and acceptance.

Have we ever sat and wondered why veterans are so commendable? These remarkable people battle for our country in a way that no one could ever repay, but most people don’t give them the admiration they deserve. These veterans are the reason why America is the way it is. Veterans risk their lives to give us freedoms and privileges we were born with like freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. Each of these hold a strong value in America. America was founded on these three principles.

When my family moved here 3 generations ago, they had one goal in mind. To get to the greatest country on earth and start anew. Then they sailed by the unbelievable Ellis Island into the new world. As Harry S. Truman once said, “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to complete the job at hand.”

“Stop saying I can't. You can. You just choose not to. Believe in yourself and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish”- Unknown. There are several reasonings of why I choice an America where individually believe in ourselves, the main reason why I did was from personal experience. From my perspective, I notice that bullies usually pick on people because the victim might not have enough faith or believe in themselves enough to stand up. Or maybe I have faith in all Americans and my own resourcefulness to change this country for an even better one that I can support.

To me, America is like twins. With my twin her success is my success, and her mistakes are my mistakes. The same thing is true with America. We share in the glory of our Olympic athletes and share in the mourning of a fallen soldier. Americans all share a special bond. The bond of being an American and having the rights and freedoms that our founders secured for us. Like twins, the America that I believe in is a shared one. One where we all share equal rights and opportunities. America is about having dreams and working toward achieving them.

Look around you, tell me what you see. Buildings, cars, cubicles, desks, people? What you’re seeing, that is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave. The place that I believe in, the place that you believe in. America may have its flaws, but that is what we love. These flaws make America different, they make America, America.

The America I believe in is one where we don’t have to be scared to walk to our cars in the morning to go to work or school. We don’t have to be scared of anything because the American soldiers. They put their lives on the line every day. While they are out there fighting we are sitting in a chair drinking a glass of tea and watching, Keeping up with the Kardashians. While we are in our nice cozy homes. They are fighting every day. We in America have it so nice that we don’t even realize how good we actually do have it. We have a lot of freedom in America, and that is all because of these heroes that may not get recognized as heroes but they are heroes.

I like to think of America as a tree. The people themselves are its leaves, the government is its branches, our freedom is its roots. Together the tree will stand tall, but if you take one of these things away the power will be become unbalanced causing all to come crashing down. America has bestowed upon us many gifts throughout the generations. America’s gift to my generation is a sense of unity, a rich heritage with our government, each rooted in freedom.

Abraham Lincoln’s speech has brought out some good points on what this country is built on. As stated by Abraham Lincoln this is a country that was founded by our forefathers and it is conceived in liberty. In the speech he mentions the reason to why we as the people should honor what the dead has given us. It is the reason for the people living in this nation would do anything for it. As stated by Lincoln “Our father’s brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedication to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Sometimes my generation takes every day for granted. We need to bring back the importance of the patriotic spirit. My great grandfather is my role model and was in the Air Force. He once said to me, "you are the future". I didn't quite know what this meant at the time, but as I sit and write this paper, the meaning is becoming more and more clear. It is up to my
