I think The Call of The Wild is a great meaningful book. Buck was in a great place in the beginning and then he was sent to the Yukon with harsh weather and difficult survival. Some of the meaningful things in the book are how Buck and John become friends and Buck takes up for John, are just a few. The weather is so cold it can kill you. In order to survive you have to find or dig places for sleep or find and protect your food. This book is about a dog with heart, he was the boss, he had a family, and he was able to wander free on a farm in Santa Clara Valley. The weather was sun-kissed and beautiful, and one day in the paper there was an add for all tidewater dogs, strong of muscle, and warm, long hair, needed to be trained for sled dogs. John finds out that Buck has been leaving because there is a pack of dogs he has been running with. John decides he wants to go home but he is going to Dawson and do the right thing and let Buck stay. He takes of his collar and tells Buck," GO BUCK! GO!" Buck runs off and then John was letting all the gold back into the water and the indians saw him trespassing on their land and took him and tied him against a log. Buck comes and jumps, bites, and attacks all the indians there, but he was jumping on one and when he turned around only to see his caretaker take his last breathe, in the shallow water. After, the book was over I decided that overall this book was good. The book had lots of changes, surprises, and shocking events. The book grabbed my attention and it also had something new going on at all times. It really spoke to me and I would read it again.
