The Captain walked over to his chair, he sat down in the seat and he put the key in the ignition and started the engine of the ship. He made sure everyone was at their stations, before he took the ship out into space. Octavia and I were in the backroom, putting on our uniforms and grabbing our weapons for the mission. Octavia grabbed a giant sword from of the stand on the wall and looked at me with a big grin and said “ You want to see something really cool !!” I though for a second or two, if I should be worried or not, then I answered with a resounding. “Yes!!” She then raised the sword and struck the solid steel bench, that we had been setting on with all her might, she had cut it completely in half. I could not believe it, with only a …show more content…
“What did I say ?” I though, she was just trying to get out of what she had said, so I pressed her about it. “So, you don't remember what you said Octavia.... about you killing everyone on this ship.” She looked at me, like I had gone completely mad. She then her expression turned very troubled and worried said “I... I... I don't know, what you are talking about” But before I could question her any further, the ship began to shake really bad, then I heard the captain yell something over the intercom, I though I would hear the fearless captain say. “We are hit...everyone abandon ship.... we are all going to die, if we don't get off this ship in …show more content…
Then after a while, I felt a horrible pain, all over my body. It was such a bad pain that it lead to me believing that death was going to come on me soon. But it never did.... I don't know why I felt all this, but I did and it was not a very pleasent experiance. A couple of times I wish death would come, because whatever was going on it was extremely painful. then their was lots of jerking back and forth which needless to say hurt emencly more than words can describe to you. Just know this, it was like the worst pain you have ever had, times ten. You would still have a hard time imagineing, how painful this was. The onlying i had assumed, was that the spaceship was crashing, and that the heat was from the spaceship meeting the atmosphere. And the atmosphere was destroying it pieces by piece, if I did not get up, then I would likely die, If I did not get up. But I could not move, despite being aware of many thing, that happen around
Glancing toward the bridge window, she noticed the captain’s chair wasn’t bolted down. Walking over, she grabbed the chair and began smashing it into the door. After a few minutes of swinging the chair and uttering a number of colorful metaphors, she collapsed, exhausted. She was going to die here. There was no way out of this.
" The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams."- Oprah Winfrey. This quote meant a lot to a 13 year old youngster named Jared, who lived in the most impoverished town within Cambodia. To be quite specific, Jared resided in an old, rusty village, during the year of 2001, that he'd been living in since birth. His greatest aspiration in life was to become a geneticist. However, he did have a few roadblocks, such as poverty, and zero education. Whenever unoccupied, he strived to pay his Grandma Seda a visit at her senior citizen home, which was funded through the Cambodian government. Speaking of her, Grandma Seda was 96 year old lady and happened to be the grandmother of Jared. She was located at a senior citizen home 20 miles away from Jared's home. Six months ago she was diagnosed with leukemia and slow organ failure. Since her diagnosing, her health has been deteriorating rapidly.

In 2014 I had just started my senior year of high school. I was eighteen with great grades and captain of the colorguard. One would think that I was responsible with everything in my life. A huge responsibility that I took on was the privilege to drive. My license was freshly laminated, and I was ready to get out and experience one of the first steps of adulthood. Soon I realized that glancing down at my phone for just a split second could have changed everything.
Sam was walking home from the Morrisville Market with a full bag of groceries. The sun was hot and no clouds were in sight. He smelled the fresh bread being baked in the shops. He felt like nothing could go wrong, and oh how wrong he was about that. The sidewalk was cracked right in front of Lana’s Diner glowed an odd red light. “What the……AHHHHHH!” When a garbage truck pulled up the garbage man found Sam lying face down on the sidewalk with a \
Sea gulls bickered on the warm, morning breeze over head. The waves lulled the vessel boat to-and-fro as it skimmed through Blackwater Bay. The water sparkled like sapphires, clear and bright under the sun. From the bow of the boat, Alayna peered out towards the Narrow Sea. Beyond the bay, adventure called her like a siren song. She longed to explore the lands beyond Westeros. However, this voyage wouldn’t ferry her towards that dream. She’d continue to dream of that journey. The schooner wouldn’t be sailing beyond the bay.
Change is inevitable. Whether it be positive or negative, change is constantly happening. More than often change can take you from the known world and spit you into the unknown, where you return a changed person. While embarking on the journeys provoked by change, you are on a hero’s journeys. The hero’s journey was popularized by Joseph Campbell. When describing what prompts hero’s journeys, Joseph Campbell said,
“I’m gonna go after Sarah!” Luke screamed over the noise and without second thought, he took off running. My eyes went wide as he was immediately lost in the crowd of walkers.
My hands were sweating against the microphone in my hand, I could feel the anxiety throughout the air on the big stage. The only thing separating me, I mean us, from the large crowd filled with haters, supporters, and who knows what else; was the velvet red curtain that she knew in no time would disappear, revealing me and my friends to our fate.
The son had loved his father dearly but does not favor his way of life. His interest in school greatly outweighed his interest or desire to work on ‘The Boat’. He still had a love for the sea and in some way felt like he should carry out his family’s tradition. After his uncle had accepted a new job he took his position on the boat and promised his father that we would continue to sail with him for as long as he lived, and when his father passed despite the desires of his mother he followed his dreams and pursued education and all of its wonders. After living his life he finds himself longing for the sea again and isn’t so satisfied with his life.
