Based on our visits to the Cardinal Stage Company and Bloomington Playwrights Project, we have more understanding at those two theatre organizations. Even though they have differences but we can still see the similarities they have which are they all have good management skills and have leaders who have great visions. Therefore, it is not hard to figure out that leadership plays a vital role and is extremely necessary for nonprofit theatre organizations to have good leader. According to this article, there are three important elements that a great leader usually has which are: vision – “strategic planning and decision making”, vision communication – “communication, team building, and consensus building” and personal presentation – “drive toward goals, maturity and experience, professional demeanor, credibility, and self assurance” (Rhine, 39). During our visit to Bloomington Playwrights Project, the part I was surprised the most was when I knew that Mr. Chad Rabinovitz’s (producing artistic director of BPP) decision of spending more money on improving their facilities and venue in order to make it more professional when the theatre had a huge amount of debt. Usually, this would not be the leader’s decision because there were lots of risks that you were facing by doing it. However, due to his vision, he made this decision and the effect of it was great since they attracted more audience to come. This example represents that how important it is to have a leader with vision and perspective. Also, since it was at the beginning of Mr. Chad Rabinovitz’s career at BPP, he definitely needed to convince the staffs and board members to agree with his plan of rebuilding the inside part of the theatre.
In today’s society, there are some people who possesses the qualities of outstanding leadership. Also, in today’s society, there are some people who keep qualities of a poor leader. A good leader is someone who reads and understands their own emotions and recognize the impact on themselves and others. Another thing great leaders do is think and act with optimism, by looking at the positives and not so much on the negatives. Another great strength a good leader has is that he or she knows the strengths and limits of the certain people on their team (Hewertson). What I have learned is that true leaders care about who they're leading. They must not just see others as a group, but also as unique individuals who have feelings, thoughts, needs, and wants. We must be compassionate, sympathetic, and generous to gain their respect. Through leading the band as drum major I have now realized this. While at times it may have been tough I always remember the Bible story of The Good Shepherd.

Metropolitan State University 's Theatre Production performed, "God 's Country." This play was written by Steven Dietz in 1988. It revolved around a white supremacist group called The Order. This group was led by Robert Jay Matthews and during the presence of The Order, Matthews organized the members to perform various illegal acts to earn money for the groups cause. The illegal acts led to a court trial that occurs during the play because The Order, was being prosecuted for the assassination of radio host, Alan Berg. During MSU Denver 's production of "God 's Country," the elements of the play that stood out the most were: the success of one particular character, growing to dislike a character, and the small amount of props that were used.

Ever leader needs to be honest and have the trust of those who are following them. This is essential for any plan or idea to be carried out steadily. Also, open communication cannot happen if one does not trust their leader. Next, a leader must be motivated and have energy. If a leader is not motivated, those who are following them are also not going to be motivated either. Someone has to be able to push others to keep up the hard work to get to where they need to be. Lastly, a leader needs to be knowledgeable. At work, often when faced with something that I do not know the answer to, I go to my charge nurse who is very knowledgeable on almost all situations that may arise. If lacking any vital knowledge, staff under that leader will not have anyone to go to in times of need. This leads to the follower being lost and not knowing what the next step is in their situation. All of these traits are what I like to see in a leader in my work
Recently I went to the CU Boulder’s Department of Theatre and Dance and saw their play production of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents. This paper is about my critical and analytical response to this play. This historical tragi-comedy was written by Andy Bayiates, Sean Benjamin, Genevra Gallo-Bayiates, Chloë Johnston, and Karen Weinberg. The production was directed by Emily K. Harrison, and was performed in the University Theatre. Harrison 's use of comedy juxtaposed with serious moments caused me to understand the importance of the presidential office, and the important role we play in the election.

The purpose of this paper is to reflect and make an analysis of the general strengths and weaknesses of a leader, provide recommendations, thoughts of overall performance to improve on this person’s leadership style in which practices and theories were utilized most effectively. Upon such, draw conclusions and provide an integration of this leadership practice into my own leadership practice. The accomplishment of this will be achieved by identifying several key practices from published documents surrounding and encompassing the leader, and comparing them to known relative concepts for a holistic view of the approach.
From research we see that there are many qualities that people value in leaders. Some of these qualities include: having high standards, supportive, inquisitive, involved, honest and having integrity. When I think about leadership I think of a person who is self-aware and always striving for improvement. To be a good leader you need to know how your personal biases may impact decision making in various situations. Bias or values can effect how you interact with those you come in contact with on a daily basis. A good leader can set the tone for students, staff, and parents by being consistent and clear in thoughts and in actions. The leader is the foundation of the building.
For decade’s individuals, companies, and organizations have spent an unprecedented amount of money on researching, molding, modeling and working to define what a leader is and what characteristics make successful leaders. Despite all the research, there is not a quick answer or even full agreement as to what makes an individual an effective leader. The definition of a leader is “someone who can influence others and who has managerial authority.” (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2015. P.370)
Determination, courage, and confidence are all characteristics needed to be a good leader. The principal player in a music group is considered to be a leader. Even bands need leaders, if we didn’t have leaders where would we be today? John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” A good leader is liked by the people, has power, and produces followers. When there is an unwillingness to make things happen, to take the initiative and accept responsibility; this is when a leader emerges. Leaders develop through drive, creativity, and devotion.
