Conflicted by the fight between his bestfriend and new in-law Romeo tries to reason, “Gentlemen, for shame! Forebear this outrage! Tybalt, Mercutio, the prince expressly hath forbid this bandying in Verona streets. Hold, Tybalt! Good Mercutio “ ( Shakespeare 3.1,90-93).
It then gets out of hand and Mercutio is left dead by a jab from Tybalt who refuses to stop, so in return Romeo kills him. To state, Romeo being married to Juliet feels that he should love his new family including Tybalt so wants to resolve the dispute. However, maybe Mercutio having platonic love for his friend Romeo Stands up for him. This shows that love can lead violence because of Romeo trying to help his valued friend and family get along it causes both of their deaths.
Mercutio is Romeo’s big cousin. Mercutio isn’t the best friend to have because most of the time he’s getting into trouble with other people. The time when he was walking through the square with his friends the montagues, Tybalt and his crew the Capulets had showed up. Tybalt started to ask where Romeo was because he wanted to deliver a message from Juliet. Mercutio started to joke around with Tybalt by calling him names and making fun of him, but Tybalt didn’t like that so he had challenged Mercutio to a sword battle. Romeo finally showed up and was telling them to stop fighting before one of them killed one another. Mercutio is such a heavy headed person he doesn’t listen to his cousin so he goes ahead and starts to fight Tybalt. Tybalt
Mercutio wanted to help Romeo and Mercutio strongly believed that if Romeo went to the party then he will be fine, “I mean, sir, in delay we waste our lights in vain, like lights by day! Take our good meaning, for our judgment, sits five times in that ere once in our five wits” (I. iv. 44-47). Mercutio is the primary reason that Romeo went to the Caplets party, Mercutio suggests that Romeo needed a distraction in order to get Rosaline off his mind. When Mercutio’s group went the party it started a chain reaction of bad decisions made by Mercutio and Romeo, the decisions made had a damaging effect. Mercutio is one of the participants of the bad decision making. He made a devastating decision when he invited to fight him, “And thou make mysteries of us, look look to hear nothing but discords. Here’s to my fiddlestick, here’s that shall make you dance. Sounds, consort!” (III.i.43-45). When Mercutio’s ego is threatened he does what he needs to protect it and himself and he fights Tybalt to prove that he is strong. Mercutio chooses to fight and he is aware that Tybalt is a trained brawler, but he ignores that and meets his end. In the play, Mercutio makes a dramatic decision that changes the story drastically and his acts hurt others around
The fiery Tybalt, enraged with the presence of Romeo at his family’s party, demands for Romeo to fight him. Calmly, Romeo responds, “Tybalt... I have to love thee/Therefore, farewell” (3.1.33, 36). Romeo “[has] to love” Tybalt because he has just married the lovely Juliet, who is a Capulet. This holy marriage makes Romeo cousins with Tybalt, since Romeo is now a Capulet. The quote demonstrates that the “love” compels Romeo to not fight, since Romeo denies the challenge by exclaiming “farewell” to his new cousin. However, Romeo’s attempt at peace backfires when Mercutio, defending Romeo’s honor, is stabbed by Tybalt. The dying Mercutio stutters to Romeo, “I was hurt under your arm,” (3.1.71). Mercutio exclaims that since Romeo tried to break up the brawl between Tybalt and himself, Romeo’s sword created a vulnerable spot on Mercutio to be exposed. Thus Tybalt killed Mercutio “under [Romeo’s] arm”. Romeo’s love for Juliet, and his new family, clouds his better judgement, leading him to refuse Tybalt’s challenge. Since Romeo doesn't want harm to come to his new cousin, Mercutio spontaneously defends his honor, unfortunately leading to his early death. Thus, Romeo’s passive decision to stay peaceful, out of love, drives an end to Mercutio’s life. Shocked and disgusted by his best friend’s untimely death, Romeo confronts Tybalt once

Romeo and Juliet is always thought to be a play about innocence, love and the ideal version of lovers sacrificing themselves for one another. People do not realise what characterises love. These themes add additional layers of meaning and also create a contemporary version of the original story itself.

This famous tragedy play written by William Shakespeare is set mainly in Verona, Italy (as voiced in dialogue by the Chorus). A fight breaks out between some of the Montague and Capulet servants (including Sampson and Gregory) before Benvolio and Tybalt enter the streets of Verona. Benvolio tries to break up the fight but Tybalt, who hates peace, would rather stir more chaos and violence. Montague and Capulet see the disturbance and begin to fight as well. Their wives then urge them to stop, but before the fight fully escalates, the Prince Escalus warns them to keep the peace on pain of death. The Montagues notice Romeo’s sad and isolated behavior, so they see if his cousin could try getting answers. Benvolio finds out that Romeo is feeling lovesick after his unrequited love (Rosalind), so he tries to comfort his friend and encourages him to seek another.
The chorus starts us off in Verona where an old argument between two families, the Capulets and the Montagues, caused new violence in the city, and two children of these families were affected by the argument. Only the death of Romeo and Juliet, the “star-crossed lovers”, can end the feud. Romeo tells Benvolio about the girl he loves, but she does not love him back. Lord Capulet denies Paris’s proposal for his daughter Juliet, but he invites him to a party to look at other women to see if he really loves Juliet. Benvolio talk Romeo into going to the party to find other women besides Rosaline. At the party Romeo notices how beautiful Juliet is and wants to know who she is. Romeo worships Juliet at the party and they fall instantly in love. As
