What is Global Warming?
Global Warming is the result of the increasing in overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere that is generally attributed to the Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse Effect is caused by the increase of the levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and other pollutants (Wollersheim) in the earth’s atmosphere. Global Warming is a fact, not fiction but some people still think is it not affecting our earth’s planet. The fact is if we don’t take care of the problem now life on earth will not exist. This is an important topic that needs to be addressed before there is nothing left for the human race which includes animals and plants or any living things that live on this planet. This is no joke, but in this society, people think nothing is going to happen to our planet, I agree it probably will not in my lifetime but what happens in 100,200 years. Look at what scientist have discovered over the past decades with the globe is heating up on land and the oceans. Scientist have been studying this since the 1880s, (Pappas) we need to be educated on how to save our planet. Most scientists agrees that the main cause is human expansion of the greenhouse effect. There are facts the glaciers are melting, the sea is warming and causing the levels of the water to rise which is causing all wildlife to scramble to find a safe place to go. Take the polar bears, with all the glaciers melting they are dying out because of the perennial ice is melting. All of this
“Climatism is the belief that man-made greenhouse gases are destroying earth’s climate” said Steve Goreham, the executive director of the Climate Science Coalition of America and author of the book “The Mad, Mad, Mad World of Climatism: Mankind and Climate Change Mania”. Historically, earth climate has become a major problem after the Industrial Revolution during the 18th and 19th century and it significantly becomes a big concern in the present days. This essay will illustrate the possible root of climate change which is caused by mankind as well as nature.
Climate change is one of the utmost damaging problem to humanity by the reason that it affects everyone who lives on Earth. Though there are social problems, such as war or racism, that may affect certain groups of people, even those with no human contact are affected by climate change in some way.
Global warming and climate change is something that is going to do great harm to the world, unless we all step up and do something about it. So far, the overall worldwide temperature has increased at the fastest rate ever in recorded history. At this rate, that temperature is likely to increase by up to ten degrees in the next century, according to scientists. Now, you may be wondering “why is a gradual increase in temperatures such a bad thing?”. Even though it may seem like a harmless change, increased temperatures can actually lead to some harmful events, such as rising sea levels from melting glaciers (which would lead to flooding), destruction of natural habitats (which would lead to the extinction of many plants and animals), and higher levels of air pollution (which would cause more outbreaks of diseases). Luckily, there are ways to prevent these events from taking place, and to end global warming from continuing down this path of destruction.
When the Earth’s atmosphere is slowly increasing in temperature due to rising levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants, it is called global warming. The Earth’s climate has begun to change ever since the spark of the industrial revolution where coal was heavily utilized to propel factories and railroads, resulting greenhouse gas emissions to be sped up. Temperatures around the globe becomes warmer and a Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius suggested the cause was the buildup of CO2 in the atmosphere. Around 1979-1985, international conferences on climate change were created to address problems of global warming and prevent possible man-made changes in climate and people are still trying to solve this at the present day. Therefore, global warming has a cause and effect from one area to the next hence, it is an urgent complication and needs to be resolved collaboratively by all nations.
Climate change is caused by greenhouse gases changing the atmospheres surface temperature. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide are increasing the overall temperature of the atmosphere every day. But climate change causes more problems than just temperature's rising. Climate change also affects wind patterns, sea levels, precipitation patterns, and air pressure. Global warming contributes to climate change as seen in the recent hurricanes that have affected many places in the world today. Hurricanes are occurring in places of the world that they do not occur often because the earth has gotten warmer. The overall temperature of the atmosphere increases the chance of tropical storms and hurricanes. Climate change intensifies hurricanes by the increasing temperature of the earth, powerful winds, sea levels rising, and the amount of precipitation.
Global Warming is the heating of the globe due to the collection of CO2 and other pollutants that cause the greenhouse gases to collect and cause the sun’s rays to reflect on earth’s surface. Instead of the rays reflecting back to space, they collect in the atmosphere resulting in higher temperatures. Due to Global Warming, Antarctica is losing the majority of its ice resulting in starvation of many animals. Polar bear populations are seeing a decrease in their population due to global warming. They do not have enough seals to hunt because the lack of sea ice. The causes of global warming are the burning of fuels. Factories are burning fossil fuels in order to operate their plants are is an immediate cause of global warming. The societal view that everyone should have a car and you are viewed lesser if you don’t is a remote cause. Issues that blend into global warming would be the political and economic issues such as the recent political race between presidents where global warming was given more light. Immediate effects that are being seen are the ice melting in polar-regions, and the increased flooding in regions. Long term effects are the decline in animal populations and the increase of ocean water temperatures. The Earth’s population needs to look at the causes of this dangerous thing, and began taking action. There are many causes to this disaster, but I am going to focus on how burning fossil fuels have impacted the environment.
Discovering the Main Cause of Global Warming Upon researching the causes of Global warming, it was discovered that humans are the main cause of global warming which contributes to the rising average global temperatures. The theory of global warming was originated in the late 1850's by a scientist named John Tyndall. Tyndall discovered that some gases block radiation, and trap heat on the earth’s surface. He then suggested that the accumulation of these gases to a high level, causes climate change. Current research shows that global warming is caused by the high levels of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere by humans. Smoke produced by factories, vehicular exhaust, and the burning of fossil fuels such as coal in power plants are the primary sources of carbon dioxide. When carbon dioxide is released into the Earth's atmosphere, it steadily accumulates because it cannot escape into space. Humans are the main cause of Global Warming. Global warming is also known as the greenhouse effect, which means an increase in the temperature of earth’s atmosphere. “Since about the mid 1800s, the worldwide average temperature has been going up about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (1.4°F), or 0.8 degrees Celsius (0.8°C), much of it after 1970 During that upward trend , many cold and warm periods have come and gone” (Colligan
Climate and atmospheric changes on earth occur because of natural resources or human activities. Both effects are closely linked because what humans do on earth effects the environment and surrounding return in back to glacial potions, seas, mountain sides and deserts which might turn back to our climate in form of volcanic changes, temperature of our surroundings, snowfalls and heavy or less rainfalls [USGS (2014)].
Climate change is a topic scientists have debated on for many years. Climate change is occuring, shown in evidence from the changes on Earth. Science and statistics show that human activity is the main cause of drastic climate change, as human activity is greatly increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Global Warming is an important topic and it’s something everyone needs to look into. It can cause a lot of problems and damage. A decade ago, the idea of global warming probably wasn’t much of a concern. In this essay, the things that will be addressed are why global warming is important- the evidence, what causes it and the effects of it, the impact how we can prevent it, and other information on it.
The issue of global warming has become a hot topic issue in many different countries. Global warming is defined as the average increase of the earth's surface temperature. This exceptional rise in temperature is has caused numerous tragic events. Global warming is mainly caused by greenhouse effect, which is natural and human outcome. In the recent years, global warming has become a grave concern in the international level because of its increasing detrimental effect on our planet. Many scientists are researching to find solutions to curb the harmful effects of global warming. It is imperative for us to know about the causes, effects and solutions of global warming to help fight against it individually. In this essay, we are going to examine the causes, effects and then solutions of global warming.
Global warming is the rise of the Earth’s temperature. With references from many articles on what global warming is, how it is caused, and what it is doing to the environment, this paper goes in depth on the facts of climate change, why some doubt it, and how to prevent the Earth from warming so quickly.
Global warming happens to be really harmful and will affect the people if no effort is placed to prevent it. Global warming is the rise of the surface temperature due to the different types of gases given out due to human activity. There are many different ways global warming occurs. The major way global warming occurs is due to the gases that hurt the ozone layer such as carbon dioxide and air pollution. These gases are narrowing the ozone layer, which is allowing more heat than needed to enter the earth’s atmosphere. But there are also other reasons that cause global warming such as the cars, cows and even the factories. All these living or non-living creatures stated let out certain gases that are extremely hazardous to the environment
One of the biggest problems we face in the world today, is global warming. Many climate scientists believe that the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and deforestation is causing our earth’s climate to heat. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide are trapping heat from the sun in our atmosphere, which causes ice to melt, sea levels to rise, temperatures to rise and some animal species population to decline.
chart that the article displays that China and the U.S emits the most carbon dioxide into the world.
