CHRISTUS ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL SYSTEM Christus health, a Catholic health ministry, will be a leader, a partner and an advocate in the creation of innovative health and wellness solutions that improve the lives of individuals and communities so that all may experience God's healing presence and love. This is the mission of Christus St. Joseph Hospital. The Christus health is unique. We unite fundamentals of Christianity, hospitality and health care with a foundation of the management and staffing "nuts and bolts" essential to support our facilities and residences. It is a fact that our environment is progressively more competitive. It is also a fact that funding sources and financing are intricate and unpredictable. Financing for organizations is limited, so new programs and structural modifications to augment operations and stay competitive are restricted. Additionally, we serve a population, in quest of different stages of health care, and the very consumers that we seek out to serve are finding it more and harder to pay for the level of care that they need. So, how can an organization meet cutthroat pressures, progress access for our residents and their families, and keep the staff working efficiently with smaller number of resources? The answer to this dilemma is Strategic Planning. Since a person has to deal with different people in any work, it is imperative that they have a vast knowledge on personality in order to read the behavior of another person. Personality
The Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) six aims of quality provide an advantageous framework to progress the quality of care in the U.S.A. health care system. IOM developed six aims for improving to provide safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable patient care (Institute of Medicine, 2001). Organizations need to strategically plan to evolve in meeting IOM’s six aims and to remain a financially sound entity. Strategic planning involves defining the future and stipulating the measurement of achievement (Sare & Ogilvie, 2010). The purpose of this paper is to start the initial steps for creating a strategic plan in a healthcare organization, through describing and evaluating an unmet need, considering the mission, vision, and values, providing the background context, vision, strategic goal, and consider the broader issues.
Strategic Planning is an essential first step in the development of a result-base accountability system,” (Schilder, 2013, p. 1). In strategic planning an organization must know their goals, missions, and how to reach them. Health care facilities are in huge demand for the elderly and for people who lives in low-income communities. A person who receives good quality health care services can prevent the spread of contagious diseases. This paper will describe the need of the community, population it is serving, and a brief description of the facility.
Personality is looked at everyday purposely and accidently. Whether you are judging how your new professor for the semester will be, or if you are studying your best friend for a project, personality is studied abundantly. While there are many ways to define personality, there is not a worldwide definition around. Personality is the unique combination of patterns that influence behavior, thought, motivation, and emotion in a human being (boundless.com). That is one of many ways of defining personality. When examining personality, there are four main approachable theories including: The Psychodynamic Approach, The Trait Approach, The Social-Cognitive Approach, and The Humanistic Approach.
Personality can be defined as patterns of a person's thoughts, feelings and behaviors in various situations. In its most basic form personality is attitude, values and interests. Personality traits can also be known as behavioral differences. Understanding and appreciating the diverse personalities of others can help people to interact and know why one person might act or respond in a certain way. This appreciation of personality diversity gives respect to the quirks and differences of individuals therefore respecting these differences as strengths.
Without strategic planning, several things can go wrong including missing out on great opportunities. Strategic planning is an organization’s outline to help achieve its purpose. Although strategic planning begins at the top of the pyramid, it is more effective when it is carry out as a whole among other in the organization. Having a good internal control system in place protects an organization from high risk, fraud, and more. Jackson Memorial Hospital has several weaknesses which are similar to its competitors and other health care organizations. For instance, Mount Sinai Medical Center one of Jackson Memorial’s competitors, encountered lack of strategic planning that led to many issues such as with readmissions, surgical complications,
Throughout the years, health care leaders have tackled many challenges in the health care organization. Some of the challenges include knowing the difference between needs and wants, affordability, and sustainability, consequently these challenges can be confronted by evolving and transforming over to modern business models. For health organizations to be successful they must use planning, decision making, and training. Regardless of the changes, health care organizations must conserve excellent services. The purpose of this report is to recapitulate information shared throughout an interview between Dr. Kyle Grazier and Ronald G. Spaeth. The interview gave readers insight on Spaeth’s work, educational background, awards highlighted, and his philosophies or strategies for health care. This report will also enclose the biggest obstacles that Spaeth believes today’s health care administrator is facing in addition to the school of management theory he mostly used and why. In conclusion, I will state my opinions on Spaeth’s approaches and the lessons that individual’s can learn from the interview.
Dynamic strategic planning is to expect change. In the healthcare industry, plans must be a bit flexible or altered to meet the need of all stakeholders. Also, management should understand policies, and procedures based on the law before implementation to avoid malpractice and fines. Lastly, management should utilize tools such as means-ends analysis as identified in chapter 4.4 figure 4.1 of the text, The essentials of managing in the healthcare industry (Baack & Fischr, 2013). Figure 4.1 shows a breakdown of the organization’s mission, the means in which to complete this mission or the plan, and then the end or achieved

The system is known for multiple types of care including Ambulatory services, Cancer treatment, and various types of specialized surgeries. The health care system only has one local competitor, a state run hospital system that includes two campuses. There is no limit to the types of consumers that the health care system treats.
Hospitals in today’s society are functioning in a way that is changing with the advancement of technology and the way organizations are training and educating their staff. Greater opportunities that are emerging in the healthcare profession are causing hospitals to expand, for instance CHI St. Vincent Health System and their nurses. CHI St. Vincent is an organization whose one and only purpose is to nurture the healing ministry of the Church. By that I mean to create a healthier community they are supported by education and research human dignity.

As being the director of continuing care service at St. Timothy’s Health Care System. Which is a multilevel system consisting of an array of acute and long-term services. My goal is to develop an information system that will track client’s overtime and place. This system will also help track clinical, financial and management purposes.
St Mary's Health System is offering a part-time position for a pharmacy tech. According to its web page, St. Mary’s Health has been providing health care since 1872. Upon more research, I have discovered that this organization based its foundation on the principle of faith, and honoring the poor with special attention. The health services this facility provides are endless. Some services include direct patient contact while other services offer indirect or no patient contact, but all services are equally important. St. Mary’s also has a continuous education reimbursement program, which provides 100% coverage to colleagues that wish to continue their fields of study (as long as it is within the medical system), and scholarships such
Allport defines personality as ‘the dynamic organisation within the individual of those psychological systems that determine his unique adjustment to his environment’ (Allport, 1937). An individual’s unique personality traits and attributes are a powerful indicator of how he/she will interact with the work environment. The difference between average and outstanding employees can often be solely personality related. As the employee is the most valuable asset to the company, ‘selecting the right employee during the process is critical’ (Carbery and Cross, 2013, pp. 41-53)
The accurate definition of personality has been a point of discussion amongst many different philosophers within many different disciplines since the beginning of civilization. Personality can be defined as "the relatively stable set of psychological characteristics that influences the way an individual interacts with his or her environment" (Johns , 1996: 75). Personality has a rocky history within the workplace and organization behavior because of measurement problems. There is now a renewed interest because of the emphasis on service jobs with customer contact, concerns about ethics and integrity and contemporary interest in teamwork and cooperation. All of these point to the potential contribution of personality.
It is favorably significant for organizations these days to recruit accomplished workers. Personality shows a very dynamic character in our day-to-day life especially in the work place. Our characteristic traits can best be referred to by our activities. So, the finest way to know people is by their personality. It is very much significant to recognize the personality because one may feel that a certain person is “dumb” but he/she may be liberal. That is why we need to
