Mackenzie had just stormed in and slammed the door when she heard the phone ring. “What?” She gritted out. “Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine today?” Came the teasing voice followed by the all too familiar chuckle. Mackenzie took a deep breath to calm herself. She needed to suppress her rage in order to keep this facade successful. “Sorry about that. Did you need something?” “Sort of. It’s kind of hard to explain on the phone. Do you mind if we meet in person? Say, tomorrow at the coffee shop at 1?” Mackenzie, too tired to check her schedule, mumbled something incoherent, but Oliver unfortunately deciphered it as a yes. She turned on her recently acquired plasma TV and went straight to channel 48. She glared daggers at the screen. It was …show more content…
She shut the television screen off and went in her room to devise an improved and more foolproof plan. She came to a stop when she remembered her promise to Oliver and cursed under her breath. The conceited idiot was a dim witted fool and downright rejecting him was out of the question. Oliver Thompson was arrogant and narcissistic. He was also the rumored partner of Mackenzie before her escape. So in order to keep her image a little less distorted than people viewed it to be, she was forced to be in this relationship. But poor Oliver seemed to be just as blind as the public. Mackenzie had to admit, she got quite lucky in some aspects of the situation. She held this opinion because Oliver was nothing but a pretty face. He was a small town actor and met Mackenzie through a movie about 20 years ago. His connection with her then led him to have a larger recognition in Hollywood. But by the time “Mackenzie” got back, he was a full on hearthrob. Not that she found this appealing in any way. She had heard the actual Mackenzie Jones and Oliver were very much in love or something of the sort, yet he still didn’t seem to realize that the woman he claimed to be so fond of was long gone and instead replaced by an imposter. “Dean Jacobs was on set today, and I must say, it was quite an awkward encounter. I mean, I don’t
In order for our business, The Broadway Café, to become more competitive in this environment, I deem it necessary to build a collaboration tool that will stimulate contact, knowledge, information, and events among employees, customers, suppliers, and all others who are interested in the business.

After watching the documentary Exit through the Gift shop. I think it’s a kind of hoax. Although it really show us the special foreign culture-Street Art, there are also many satires, irony and tricks in this documentary. The story line of this video was happened around many-Brandalism's artists, their works, and thierry’s stories/experiences. There are not only lots of elements which should a documentary have, but also the absurd story and ‘pseudo art’ connotation give me a strong feeling that is a hoax.

She took a breath and began to try and focus on eating. She needed to stay strong if she was going to survive all this. "We need to cover our tracks, and to get to
Starbucks is a strong competitor in the service sector and a leader in the gourmet coffee industry. With a continued growth rate in store openings and maintaining successful profitability of its operations, Starbucks has demonstrated its ability to sustain a reliable and steady growth. Starbucks’ ability to contend with the vulnerability to current financial threats such as economic recession, higher interest rates, and global competition, is constantly proven by its incomparable brand image, its continual product innovations, and its exceptional customer service. This paper looks at Starbucks history and evaluates its current financial situation. Their sense of community, responsibility and social awareness has made Starbucks the company that it is today. Starbucks has adopted a unique culture that is hard to duplicate by other organizations. As stated on their website, the company’s vision is to establish Starbucks as the most recognized and respected brand in the world. The ideals, along with the leadership of Howard Schultz, Starbucks CEO, has helped position the company where it is today, which in turn has positively affected the financials of the organization. This paper examines the financials and makes recommendations for new
In a supply chain, distribution means the steps required to move and store a product from supplier stage to customer stage. It is an important driver for overall profitability of a company because it affects both the supply chain cost and the customer experience directly. (Chopra and Meindl, 2010, p68) A typical distribution network of coffee distribution system is like this (Starbucks Coffee Company, p22):
I enter the coffee shop. As I look around the room, I notice in the far left corner two men occupying a table. They seem to be engaged in an intent discussion. Both are clearly perplexed; bent forward with furrowed brows they shake their heads in disagreement at one another. Being a rather nosey person I can’t help but investigate. After ordering a cup of coffee, I pick up a dusty, crinkled paper and conveniently select the table adjacent to theirs. I chuckle to myself. To an outsider it will appear as though I am completely engrossed in reading the paper; nobody will uncover my secret and rather embarrassing intention: to eavesdrop.
In the early evening back at home Consuelo was still pacing in front of the café window. Concerned for the safety of her only son, who had departed this morning wearing his sleepwear and robe. Her jaw fell open when on the sidewalk before her appeared Stella and Sol, with much audacity. Carrying up the path garment bags from a high end department store. Behind them was Dr. Edwards who had just pulled in after his long shift at work. He walked towards Stella who was standing in front of the door. He greeted her with a big, juicy, wet, kiss, then they all just walked right in.
The café in the center of the store is actually a little Starbucks coffee shop, but due to the food that they service it is more of a café than anything else. The food is not really a wide selection, but it is enough that anyone is, “required to play host, and in which all feel at home and comfortable.” (Oldenburg, page 22) With the decent food and Starbucks, anyone that has an order does not need to remain at the tables to finish it. You can still be able to browse the shelves and read anything that you desire. Which is why many families come to the store with their children in tow.
The cafe down the road from the library was the kind of place ordinary people would visit once by accident. They’d then skip town at earliest convenience. Those of them who were unfortunate enough to live nearby had the good sense to stay away save for Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
I stopped by the book café on my way home, and as I was reading the latest gay happenings on my tablet, a new person came through the door. I stopped at the book café almost every day, and because I worked there on Tuesday afternoons I never had to pay for coffee or lunch. So, basically, I knew almost everyone who came in, and in a tiny town most people are either known by name, or visitors.
