There are a lot side affects as results of gun violence that both the victims, the pertuctutors and their families go though. It is challenge for both the victims and perpetuators to return back to their normal lives after experienced so many traumas from gun violence. For the most part victims that survived gun violence are subject to live with fear, they suffer from emotional instability, and some of them developed heath problems such as anxiety, stress. On the other hand, the person who committed the crime are left with collateral consequences such as, it is hard for them to reentry society when they comeback from jail, and with no opportunities to find a job most of them ended up back on the street. As society, we have tendency to judged
Another type of background check that needs to be added and included to every State standard background check is the No Fly List as well as violent repeat offenders and abusers. States need to be running their checks against the No Fly List and Homeland Security; those on the list should be denied the ability to get a gun. We want to stop terrorists, both domestic and foreign, from being able to walk into a store and purchase a gun with no background check. “Depending on one’s perspective, the divergence in states’ approaches to guns either means that some people… are facing dangers of gun violence that could be avoided by enactment of strong gun laws”, while others “are unnecessarily having their freedom and safety impaired by gun laws that only disarm law-abiding individuals” (Rostron, 2016, p. 356) . There are times when an innocent person’s name can appear on the list so we should be prepared with a legal path to clearing that person’s name and removing them from the list. This path should be swift and completed in a timely manner, but each individual should understand we take our safety at the highest regards so we must be thorough.
Gun violence is a very controversial topic because everyone has their own perspectives on this particular topic. There are so many crimes caused by fire arms that it’s just plain out ridiculous. Many people have lost their lives due to gun violence and other crimes due to the use of a gun. Although guns are used for protection in certain cases, but most of the time they are not. There aren’t too many cases where someone used a gun for self-defense but there are many news stories and etcetera about a crime committed with the use of a firearm. A long time ago weapon violence had its issues however in no way like what is going on it current society. While there are occasions that have happened that appear to be stunning, tragic and pointless, comparable activities have happened decades prior; with the exception of they didn 't appear to happen as regularly as they do today. Weapon savagery has developed into a worldwide emergency. A few individuals feel we ought to boycott weapons inside and out, while others feel this would be unthinkable. Disposing of firearms may cure the issue however it may not be sufficient to make the issue go away.
In the United States, over the past few decades, gun violence has increased massively, leading to over 10,000 gun-related incidents in 2015. The main cause of the massive amount of violence in the United States in recent decades is mainly because people who are in danger have no means to protect themselves. This is why guns should be more accessible for citizens, so that they can protect themselves in dangerous situations. Allowing citizens to conceal weapons would heavily decrease the amount of incidents that occur because innocent people were unable to protect themselves. Also, putting less control on guns would prevent crimes from even happening in the first place. If a criminal had intentions of committing a crime, they would be much less willing if they knew that they might possibly get shot trying to commit that crime. Thus, criminal activity and violent crimes will cease to continue at such high rates and more people will have the ability to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
Gun Violence is a major problem in the United States, it leads to a lot of deaths every day. The area of focus is the United States of America. More controls need to be put on guns to make America a safer nation. More than 30,000 people are killed each year in this country due to guns. There are some questions that haven’t been answered like, Amendments that need to be made to reduce the availability of guns. At the point when American threats with Britain began on April 19, 1775, the Continental Congress had no standing armed force, no stores of weapons and munitions, no naval force, and no navy ships. The Continental Congress revitalized volunteers to join the battle against the British. Farmers and tradesmen conveying their own black powder guns framed a volunteer army along the street from Boston to Concord, Massachusetts, discharged the first shot of the Revolution, and battled again on Bunker Hill in Charlestown on June 17. As a result, the Constitution of the United States was embraced in 1787 on the condition that a Bill of Rights would be included. The initial Ten Amendments to the Constitution, including the Second Amendment, were sanctioned by Congress on December 15, 1791. The Second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. The historical backdrop of
In the past decade or so, Americans had experienced epidemic level of gun violence taking place in every corner of country. Actually owning gun is legal in the USA, it’s actually our second amendment; the right to bare firearms. Approximately 300 million Americans held gun in their homes.
I enjoy reading your post this week. I agree that gun violence creates a tumbling effect on everyone including the community. The reason being is that the people are the ones who make up the community. Everyone involved loses. The perpetrators lose their freedom, the parents lose their love ones, and the community loses two or more members from its organization. Gun violence creates feelings of fear, anger and hatred in most people. These types of feelings can lead to even more violence and maybe even more loss of lives. Due to the trauma, stress and distress are felt by the families of both the victims and the perpetrators. This can lead to physical and mental issues for everyone. If a person knows that certain areas are prone
This database indicates the mass shootings as incidents of 3 or more shooting victims, not gang or drug related and appears to be indiscriminate. It includes the numbers of people injured or killed in mass shootings from 2000 to 2015. 80% of gun deaths occurred in young men and 10% in young women. Young men were ten times more likely to be killed by guns than young women, but older teenagers are at the most risk. If gun control was legal, it would decrease the amount of fatalities and injuries. The main purpose of this database is inform readers by looking at the numbers to really see our country’s issue with gun violence. There are no proofs stating this database is pleasant. They all state the toll of fatalities and injuries. The date of
Looking at a website about the gun violence archive you can see, that only in 2016 already 41.902 people have been involved in gun incidents in the US and 10.757 of them actually died, not to mention that the other 31.145 surely are traumatized for life. In my opinion and hopefully in everyone else opinion, that’s a waste of people who could’ve benefited the world.
2. My topic is socially significant because many people every day die from the result of gun violence. I wanted to search if there was any way we could improve our gun regulations, and thus reduce how many people die from the gun violence.
I still remember the day: 2nd October 2015. My professor, always punctual, arrived five minutes late to the class. Any other day, if a student was late to the class, she had a few strict words, so we were all curious about the reason she would provide. “I wanted to be a little late for class today because I didn’t want anybody to miss what I have to say”, she started. From the grave tone of her voice, I knew that I had better provide my full attention. “Yesterday nine people lost their lives when a gunman opened fire at a community college in Oregon, eight of them were students and one teacher” she continued in the same tone. She scanned the whole class and then told “I am always complaining about you people being late to the class, and it
The future of America is based off the choices of my generation and the generations after. I feel that a domestic policy issue that could have a strong impact on my generation’s future is gun control because we take advantage of guns and treat them like toys. Gun violence is at an all-time high and regulating gun usage could make my peers make better choices regarding guns, which could possibly decrease the amount of deaths due to gun violence.
The United States is home to approximately 5% of the world’s population and 31% of all mass shootings. Through these mass shootings and various other methods of gun violence, tens of thousands of people die every year. These gun-related deaths primarily originate from murder and children accidentally shooting themselves. Although those in favor of gun control tend to believe that guns should be terminated completely, the second amendment prevents lawmakers from being able to do so. Therefore, in order to combat these causes, alternative gun control solutions must be made for each one. Gun-related murders can be decreased through the use of universal background checks. Additionally, accidental shootings can be minimized through the
From watching, listening, and being brainwashed by the overpaid liberal media continually, it is obvious that America is hurting from having these people telling us how we should think. The media is trying to push gun control on anyone that will tune in or read it. The media will all say the same thing, and the problem is gun violence. What if one removes the word gun from gun violence, that still leaves violence. Before one can decide which side to support, the information should be completely researched for important, specific information about how America will be affected, and what the cost are for the people protecting their rights.
There is a heated debate about how U.S. states reduce their gun violence. According to findings by John and David (1997), the right- to carry concealed weapons minimum the probability of criminal issue rate. The exam made by Cavanaugh and Michael (2012) found that students are not very supportive for concealed handguns on America university campuses, and large part of them even feel lower comfortable if campus without restrictive policy about handguns. In another highly publicized claim, Richard uviller (1996) argues that although people hand with more private firearms, the death rate caused by the predators will not dramatically decrease.
“Gun violence is rampant in America. There were 355 mass shootings in just 2016 and many of those shooting was done by one of the most dangerous weapons in America, the AR-15, a military grade, fully automatic weapon. These guns are really easy to get too, through gun-show loop holes which don’t require background checks and anywhere else varying from state to state. Clearly something needs to be done. We see places like England and Australia whose gun crime went down after their gun ban and in light of the aforementioned statistics, the best course of action is undeniably to follow in their example. No one needs an Ar-15 to protect themselves.” Statements like these are narratives pushed by the left and mainstream media in reaction to any
