The Controversy Of Night Hunting

The trophy hunting of at-risk grizzly bears is a controversial topic in Canada. It is part of the Canadian cultural inheritance. Hunting grizzly bears are considered to be a legitimate recreational activity in some parts of Canada. They inhabit in the forest and near the costal line. The numbers of bear reached tens of thousands before, but because they are fierce and threatening human beings, they are being hunted and killed. Also, the low mortality rate of grizzly means low population, but they play a critical role as a predator in the ecosystem. The problem is over-hunting and industrialization will cause extinction of this rare species, and lead to disharmony between the government and First Nations. I mainly support the ban of grizzly

Hunting is very valuable to me, but the value is deeper than just hunting. There are so many aspects of hunting that I love. But I cherish my bow above all of them. Having my bow with me when I’m in the stand or when I’m at my neighbor’s house practicing, gives me a since of dominance. Also brings me pride knowing I’ve worked hard and stayed committed to something I truly love. There are all kinds of animals to hunt and different ways to hunt them. My favorite type of animal to hunt, is the white tail deer. While hunting the allusive deer I like to follow a code of ethics, which a lot of people don’t follow. Even though I would have liked to be given all my hunting needs, I’m proud of myself for going out and getting those needs by myself. Buying my bow and getting into bow hunting, caused me to take responsibility and taught me to stay committed to a true value in my life.

The piece “Hunting is Not Those Heads on the Wall” by Baraka and Locke’s "An Essay Concerning Human Understanding Book I: Innate Notions” really complement each other. Baraka states art can’t have thought and Locke states we don’t have innate principles. Baraka’s writing helps prove that we don’t have innate properties. Locke’s literature correlates that art can’t have thought but, it rather provokes the thought process. Baraka and Locke explore thoughts and ideas in their pieces of literature. These authors help prove each other’s theories because, Baraka says art can’t have thought while Locke says we don’t have innate properties.

Too many positive effects come from hunting to take action based on the negative ones, which are mostly opinions, not facts.

Many people think of the bahamas, or a five star hotel when a vacation is mentioned, however that is not true for all. For those who enjoy the outdoors and nature, a nice hunting trip speak more to them. Hunting has been seen in our culture for centuries as a way of reconnecting with nature, and in todays world with the lack of predators it is used to keep nature in balance, as well as keeping in touch with our ancestral traditions.

Many people have misconceptions about hunting. One such misconception is that hunting is easy and any person can go sit in the woods and wait for an animal to cross the hunter’s path. However, people who believe this are sorely mistaken. Hunting is not just sitting in the woods with a rifle; there are many other aspects that must be considered. An individual must have all preparations complete, purchase or gather the equipment needed, and know what to listen for while in the woods.

In the story, The Most Dangerous Game, there are three characters that all love hunting and have similar but different ideas on hunting. Whitney who is kindhearted and believes in superstition. Rainsford is a strong man who believes in hunting and the strong should rule over the weak.And Zaroff is a general who has like views as Rainsford but makes it his own twisted way. Where in this story his own overconfidence leads him to defeat.

The third Saturday of November was one filled with conflicting emotions: excitement, fear, optimism, and nervousness. The screeching sound of the alarm at 4:00 a.m. initiated a sense of panic and thrill throughout me; it was the opening day of the gun deer hunting season. Within minutes, I was dressed from head to toe in bright, blaze orange that could be recognized from miles away. I reluctantly, yet willingly, climbed into the truck to head to the hunting land in Adams County, Wisconsin. My stomach felt like it was tied into knots. My mind was again flooded with conflicting emotions. I began to wonder: will I get a deer? Will I not get a deer? Will I get a buck?

Waking up before the rising sun on the morning of the hunt left me feeling groggy with my eyes slow to open and close when blinking. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to eating breakfast, I began getting dressed. Due to the fact that I was in northern Minnesota, the weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee shirt on top I began to make my breakfast. I had decided to have scrambled eggs that were cooked to perfection with the yolk golden mixed in with the pure snow white egg white and flakes of pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it soft with homemade strawberry jam spread thick on top.

In 2012 after several years of trying to get permission from the court to night hunt, the Chippewa tribe has been granted permission to. Many groups of people disagree and are upset by this decision, including hunters and members of the DNR. Members of the DNR feel it is still unsafe to hunt deer at night. For years they have not been allowed to hunt deer at night and it has not affected their ability to live and function, there has been many cases of hunter being arrested, charged, and getting there weapons confiscated for hunting at night. I believe the Chippewa tribe should not be allowed to night hunt off reservation, it is unsafe to hunt deer at night and not necessary for they can already hunt on their reservation.

I am playing the Anti Hunter Activist role in animal rights. I am going to be fighting against people who do hunting, fur trapping, pigeon shooting and Alaskan Wolf hunts. I will be dressing up in camo and have a big red line through it to show that I am against Anti- hunting activist. The props I will use to show how hunters use animal props. I will use an intimal letter made out animal antlers, Uggs that are made out of sheep skin. I will also use a handout out that better explains fur trapping and pigeon shooting.

In Canada’s forestry regulations are among the strictest in the world to protect and ensure sustainability due to its diverse wildlife. The provinces and territories manage their own natural resources of forests from federal, First Nation and national parks. The fact provincial and territorial governs a range of forest laws, regulations, and policies from requiring land-use planning. The Aboriginals are respected and considered, along with wildlife habitat protection, timber harvesting and ensure regrowth. Ultimately, the federal government mandate corporations to follow established regulations from international trade, relations and enforcing environmental rules.
