The Cost Of Buying A Used Car
This project has been put together to show the cost of buying and using a used car for one year. To show the different costs for cars I have made a chart on a later page. First, though, It probably would be good to tell a little about used cars.
Used cars are, for some, a good investment. The used car is good for cheap transportation, and fun. Used cars also have many different uses besides just driving around. Some people buy used cars so they can restore them, while other people buy used cars for their children to drive. While still others get used cars for spare parts. The point is that used cars are good for many different people, for many

Do they think that it is in good driving condition? Do you think it is in good driving condition?
3. Look at the car's paint job. Is it what you would want? are there any rust spots, dings, or scratches?
4. Finally one must ask themself if the total car is what they wanted.
If there is any doubt then they might want to rethink whether they really want this car.
The chart below is a comparison of five cars each with a different set of options, price, and look.

As one can see from the chart above you cannot always judge a car from it's price. Now it is time to calculate the price of using the car for one year using set values for gas and insurance.
The average gas consumption for these cars should be about three tanks of gas every two weeks. At 52 weeks a year we get 78 tanks of gas a year. Then we need to multiply by the amount it costs for a tank of gas. In our case that gas is about $13.00 a tank. That comes to about $1014 dollars a year on gas.
In order to break even, the minimal quantity of cars to sell at the average retail price $102,500 (($109,000+$96,000)/2) for the first year is

In 2011, the United States consumed about 134 billion gallons1 (or 3.19 billion barrels2) of gasoline, a daily average of about 367.08 million gallons (8.74 million barrels). This was about 6% less than the record high of about 142.38 billion gallons (or 3.39 billion barrels) consumed in 2007,according to
Each time a person residing in the United States pulls up to a gas station to fill their tank it costs more money. This is particularly true of the past four years. Many focus the blame on the American Government but there are a multitude of factors causing gasoline prices to be so astronomically high. Middle eastern war, environmental precautions and government all seem to have a hand in the price we pay at the pump.

Automobiles symbolize the good and bad, people often look at the make of the car.
The supply of gasoline to various regions of the United States also plays a significant role. The country is divided into five different regions: Gulf Coast, East Coast, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, and West Coast. Some of these areas do not have enough refineries in their own region to support the consumption and therefore need it brought in. For example, the West Coast has very limited pipeline connections from the other regions. It must rely on water shipments and its small amount of refiners for its supply. If something should happen to the water shipments, i.e. a hurricane, tsunami, etc. it would greatly effect the supply of gasoline.
Our issue is that we need a new vehicle because ours was wrecked and the rental car we were given to use after the wreck by the insurance company is about to expire, leaving us no mode of transportation. We are looking into buying a used vehicle from an advertisement in the local paper. We weren’t sure if the vehicle was still available so we have called the owner and inquired. We do not know who we are buying the car from but we are interested in purchasing the Volkswagen Jetta because of the advertisement in our local newspaper. Just from reading the car ad; we deem that the car fits all our needs and we need to get in touch with the owner fast in order to make sure they don’t sell it to someone else.
We assume that the fuel consumption is uniform across months. Then the estimated fuel consumption for 2008Q1 will be 1511000000/4=377750000 gallons.

ML had developed a policy of selling manual machines and renting automatic machines. Manual machines did not cost much, did not require service, and could be modified to attach different fasteners inexpensively. Automatic machines were rented on an annual basis because they would have been more expensive to sell and it provided annual income to ML. However, about 700 of the rented machines were returned each year. During the time that machines were in inventory, ML would modify the machines to attach different fasteners. This was expensive with an average cost per modification of $2000. If all 700 machines were modified during a given year this would have cost $1.4 million per year. It was also industry practice to provide preventative maintenance and
With the purpose of obtaining usable information that, I can show the prospective buyer the extras that my Jetta has to offer. I think that this may help to justify my price point. I will also obtain a recent copy of the Car Fax report to highlight the fact that I am on the up and up and that I am not trying to hide anything, furthermore I will also provide the maintenance records as to show that the car was well cared for and prove that it is in good condition.
In today’s day and age of rapidly changing technology and ways of shopping, preparing to buy a vehicle can be a daunting task. What app should I download? Am I finding the best deals? Should I buy new or used? These are all very common questions to most people when they are preparing to buy a vehicle. The information is out there and attainable, you just have to know how to find it. Last year I had the opportunity to buy a vehicle, but my father also wanted me to learn about money in this process. I was very excited to get a new truck so he didn’t have to push very hard to get me to start looking, but he did give me some pointers along the way.
