For the longest time, we all thought the main cause for the danger of raw cookie dough was eggs. Although it is still a factor, flour is also a leading cause. Cookie dough is such a forbidden treat because it has stains of e-coli bacteria. It’s difficult to believe but flour has been traced back to two e-coli outbreaks. This tainted flour had caused e-coli in 63 people between December 2015 and September of 2016. A man named Samuel Crowe began to lead the search to find what was causing this e-coli. Crowe began to investigate and question 10 people who had fallen ill. It was challenging for the people to remember everything they ate starting eight weeks ago. However, two people remembered eating raw cookie dough before the incident. They

A buffer overflow attack is done by deliberately entering more data than a program was written to handle. Buffer overflow attacks exploit a lack of boundary checking on the size of input being stored in a buffer. The extra data will overflow the memory set aside to accept it and overwrite another region of memory that was meant to hold some of the program’s instructions. The effect is a cascade, which can eventually halt the application or the system it is running on. The newly introduced values can be new instructions, which could give the attacker control of the target computer depending on what was input. Just about every system is vulnerable to buffer overflows. For example, if a hacker sends an email to a Microsoft Outlook user using an address that is longer than 256 characters, he will force the buffer to overflow. The recipient wouldn’t even have to open the e-mail for this type of attack to be successful; the attack is successful as soon as the message is downloaded from the server. Microsoft quickly released a patch for this issue after it was discovered in October 2000 (James C. Foster, 2005)
CDC says that 63 people were infected with the outbreak strains of E.Coli 0121 and that 026 have been reported from 24 states. The investigation of this case took a complex turn. Initially, there was a strong correlation between eating raw cookie dough and E. coli infection. However, later more appropriate DNA test by the FDA confirmed that it found a strain of E. coli O157:H7 in a sample of the recalled cookie dough, but the culture did not match the outbreak strain.

It warns consumers to stop indulging in the raw dough in any form regardless of whether it contains eggs.
After reports of foodborne illnesses were observed from December 21, 2015 to September 5, 2016, the FDA initiated investigations which led to a trace back to the source of the outbreak which were various flours manufactured by General Mills. After the trace back, in May 2016, General Mills led a voluntary recall of its flour due to the presence of pathogens E. coli O121 and E. coli O26.
I helped assist the group on deciding the vignettes that were going to be used in our question which ended up to be “My Name”, “Hips”, and “A Smart Cookie”. I also stayed after school with Emma in order to get our question approved. We ended up with a question that focused on the principles of Esperanza and how those principles reveal the gender roles in her community. Emma and I also came up with concepts and drafts for the group’s art pieces. We ended up deciding what symbols and references from the vignettes we were going to use in the three pictures. I also helped Rosario with the response for the question suggesting using different ideas and trying not use values instead of principles. I suggested using the reference to “Madame Butterfly”

Like the next person, we all treat ourselves to a good cookie every now and then, but why settle for a good cookie when you can have the “perfect” cookie? Some people will argue that homemade cookies are better than store bought, whereas others will claim that professional bakers must know better than the average person. Others will be confused and overwhelmed by the many types of cookies, brands and recipes, leaving them to settle for just an ordinary cookie. Ultimately, the perfect cookie depends on the person, but it also relies on the 3Ts; taste, texture, and temperature.
