Lcpl. Torres Sgt. Clem 1st Platoon Bravo Company Second Law Enforcement Battalion 20161218 Dangers of Speeding "I try to get where I am going as fast as I can." Speeding-related deaths nationwide account for nearly a third of all traffic fatalities each year, taking close to 10,000 lives. Many drivers feel as if the are too rushed to make it to their destination and spend less time on the road. Many drivers feel as if everybody should follow the speed limits posted on roads and highways. There are many contributing factors to why people speed. Many drivers feel as if the are too rushed to make it to their destination and spend less time on the road. Many drivers either speed during rush hour or when the road is empty. "Motorists who drive
While many action movies make a car chase look like a fun and exciting experience, two recent local incidents show the reality of trying to escape the police. In the first incident, which happened near Stoneville, police attempted to pull a man over for several miles before he finally stopped. A fight then ensued in which the man was shot and killed. In the second incident, police attempted to pull a motorcyclist over for speeding in Winston-Salem. In the process of trying to flee the police, the motorcyclist lost control, crashing into an unmarked police car. While it might be scary to see those flashing lights behind you, trying to flee the police could result in serious injuries to yourself or others. Instead of trying to escape the police,
The leading cause of death on Utah Roads was because people speed too fast. The last
Running late has always been a problem for people, whether it is for work or a doctor’s appointment, but will the benefit of arriving to a destination two or three minutes faster be worth the number of lives that could be killed or seriously injured? Of course not. The proposed increase of the speed limit in the state of Michigan going from 70 to 80 MPH or in some cases going from 55 to 80 MPH has brought up discussions which experts say increasing the speed limit will only cause more accidents. Reporter Roop Raj uses a policy statement to argue that the speed limit should not be increased to 80 MPH.

Speeding takes a huge role in many teen crashes that result in fatalities. Going faster than the posted speed limit on a road, means that you are increasing your chances of crashing exponentially. In 2012, 21 % of serious teen crashes were a direct result of going too fast for the road. By going over the speed limit you are not only going too fast for the given roads conditions but you are also increasing the amount of time you will need to stop your vehicle in the event of an obstacle in the road.
No matter the situation there is no reason for someone to be speeding. Only in emergencies and you should have on your emergency lights to avoid trouble. Many people forget what they are doing, however that should never happen. When you are driving you should always be aware of your surroundings and you should be alert at all times and ready for anything to happen. In order to do this you need to be going at an appropriate speed and be prepared to stop for anything that may occur to you or any others while driving. I have learned in this experience that speeding is not something that you should take lightly and worry about it when you actually get caught or when something awful happens. It is not worth losing your license, money, or even someone’s life. There is no excuse for speeding and it is no one’s fault except your own. I am very disappointed in myself because I have been raised to follow the rules and always do the right thing no matter the consequences, and I was taught to always drive safe and do not drive faster than I need to. I never need to drive fast because nothing is more important than the lives of
The highest speed related fatality was recorded in the year 2012. This is because the 354 was the highest ever recorded in a single year. There was a slight increase from 2006 to 2007 but then speed related fatalities slightly decreased in 2008. From 2008 to 2010, speeding fatalities were on the rise until it dropped in 2011. From Fig B., 2015 recorded the lowest rate of speeding related fatalities. It should also be noted that speeding related fatalities have been slightly steady in 2013 and 2014 resulting in a very sharp decline.
There are so many reasons that speed limits are important. The safety of those who are driving, and those who are not is first and foremost. Having a speed limit to me, is close to the same as having laws against drunk driving. I for one, do not see an argument against having a speed limit. Its nonsense to think that one would want to be on a road, where there is no limit to how fast one can drive.
A behavior that I would like to do less frequently would definitely be speeding. Almost every day that I drive my car, I constantly drive recklessly, which includes going over the speed limit or going in and out of traffic. California drivers are just too reckless for me and I would rather put the driving into my own hands versus another driver. I even went the route of buying another slower; luxury car and even that didn’t help me.
Like if there going to meet someone but there almost late, they just have to throw on there seatbelt. Then they think there safe, so they will drive faster. But just because they think there safe they can hurt alot of other people because there driving really fast
Speeding decreases the drivers ability to realize and react to a hazard or dangerous situation
Everyone hates having to sit in traffic behind the person who has to go 10 miles under the speed limit. And then, as soon as he gets out of the way we all want to step on the gas and go as fast as we can, because we are in such a big hurry. But what we never stop to think about is all of the harm that speeding can cause. A lot of people in our day in age do not pay attention to the speed limit posted on the signs next to the road; they just drive by and do not even glance at them. However, even though there are a lot of people that ignore speed limits, they really do serve a purpose. Speeding is wrong because it is dangerous, both to you and other people, it waste gas, it can cause road rage, you really save little time, and when you get caught, it can cause a lot of damage.
At the same time, they are the least able to cope with hazardous situations that arise unexpectedly" (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 2014). Again, it is apparent the blatant disregard of traffic laws directly correlates to teen deaths in vehicle crashes. Teens underestimate how speeding actually impedes their reaction time when placed in precarious driving situations. Contributing factors such as wet roads or uneven pavement necessitates that drivers slow down. Unfortunately, speeding causes them to overcompensate resulting in many one-vehicle accidents resulting in death. Learning to understand the reasons why one should obey traffic laws begins at home through observation of adults. However, academic settings such as driver's education classes are the optimum place for these lessons because their structure provides in-depth training.
The main idea of the film was to slow down the speed of your car, because other people make mistakes and anything can happen so be prepared to stop, avoid accidents and prepare for others to make mistakes.
Many teens take part in speeding. For example, racing their friends on the highway or back roads. Such careless activity can result in tragedy. For instance, a teen lost his life participating in this activity, and other passengers were hurt.
