How far will one go to protect the ones he loves? To him his intentions are good, but others see no good in what he is doing. Clover, also known as Colin has always been trying to live up to his mother’s expectations. After his mother’s death, he becomes obsessed with the idea of a perfect family. He constantly feels that his mother is judging him through his mind. He was convinced that his mother could communicated with him even though she is dead. If she wanted him to do something he did it without hesitation. “I can be good enough. I'm as strong as Mother. No, I'm stronger. I am a stronger person, and I will not fail. I. Will. Not. Summer fell in love with Lewis the first time she saw him. Lewis is best friends with her brother so they always saw each other. At first Lewis thought Summer was annoying, but he soon realized that every little thing she did was perfect in its own way. Summer and Lewis soon became inseparable. She could just look at him and know exactly what he was thinking. Just the presents of each other was enough for them. When Lewis found Summer, she couldn’t even talk to him. She was embarrassed of what Clover did to her even though she had no control of what happened. She thought he would be ashamed of how she has changed and not want her anymore. She didn’t know how to explain what happened to her and he didn’t know what to say to comfort her. Even though they said nothing to each other they fell in love all over again. The song “When you say nothing at all” by Alison Krauss describes Lewis and Summer’s relationship in many ways. Seeing each other after being separated made their hearts feel whole again. They were so effortlessly in love. They didn’t need words to be prefect in the other’s eyes everything about each other was perfect to …show more content…
Clover wanted a family so bad that he resorted to kidnapping to get what he wanted. He wanted to protect the innocent from the cruel society we live in. He renamed the girls after flowers because he thought they were pure. He fell in love with each of them. He would bring home prostitutes and kill them with his knife to show the girls the bad thinks the world consists of. When he fell in love with the girls he would rape them. The girls had to be brave, because if they disobeyed him he would kill them. Clover had OCD so they had to shower twice a day. The girls didn’t mind it because they could cry without anyone hearing them. They hated it at the same time because he wanted them to do it. Lily’s family never stopped searching for her and that is why Clover got caught and the girls got saved. Unfortunately, Clover had already taken many young girls lives
Sometimes in life, situations may knock you down to a breaking point of giving up. These situations can make you or break you; but whatever you chose the choice is yours. Challenging circumstances can make you feel as if the world is caving in on you. Moreover, you must learn to push through your trials and tribulations and get back up again. Life never said it would be easy, or challenging. You must continue to keep dreaming, and keep that hope alive within your heart, and strive to become a stronger solider for the next mountain that may come against you. In life, we will not always see good days. However, your good days should outweigh your bad days. As long as you have breath in your body, you will always win the battle that’s ahead of you. The story of Lolo Jones exemplifies this breaking point, and the discouragement she experienced to doubt her dreams.
Lily feels alone in this world. She is ostracized at school, treated with an absence of love and lives day to day knowing that she has committed irreversible acts. When she thinks about her mother all of these complications melt away in the warm allure she feels.
One of the traits Summer displays is her compassion towards others around her. While locked in the cellar, she finds herself showing a vast amount of compassion towards the other girls and helps them as much as she possibly can. Summer justifies this by her actions, “I jumped up and ran to the cupboard,
“God deals us all different hands. How we play `em is up to us.” This is a quote from Jeanette Walls’ True-Life Novel Half Broke Horses. It displays a life lesson of Adam Casey to his daughter Lily. The quote originates from the time after their house gets washed away by a flood.

n the novel, The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, Lily a 14 year old girl is abused by her father and runs away. Throughout Lily's life she was sheltered from blacks and always thought of them as a lower class in society and her in a higher class because of her skin color. As a result she has limited respect for blacks. There are many motifs in this book that change the mindset of Lily, one of which is the Virgin Mary. The symbol the Virgin Mary is a huge impact on Lily's growth and development.
In the book Miracles C.S. Lewis discusses what miracles are and challenges the reader, Christian or not, to think philosophically on how and why they happen. He uses ideas such as naturalism and supernaturalism to help readers understand the idea of miracles, but also makes sure to point out that miracles do happen, and they happen for a reason. That reason being because God intended them to happen to maintain control on Earth as well as show his sovereignty. Some people may think of things being 'out of control' in the world to be riots, an uncontrollable plague, or even a three year old kid throwing a tantrum, but in reality what if 'out of control' is anything that has resulted from the fall, anything that God had not intended? C.S. Lewis states, “By definition, miracles must of course interrupt the usual course of Nature...in the very act of so doing, assert all the more the unity and self-consistency of total reality at some deeper level”(97).
In the beginning Clover wanted to be accepted by the other girls. So some examples are, she wanted to jump in the puddles on rainy days with the girl but,in the story her mom said “No Clover you have rainy day toys so you can stay inside and be safe and warm”, and she didn’t feel comfortable because she thought that Clover would not be accepted. Clover also wanted to got on the other side of the fence and say “hi” to
Most comic books involve a hero who saves the day even the world. In March Book two, the main characters not only changed the world but they made history and something that will never be forgotten. You will see all the pain he and the freedom riders went through, but you will also see the way he changed the United States of America.
C.S. Lewis is one of the greatest authors in history. His books are still widely available and sold to many interested readers. In Lewis’ childhood, he experienced a tragedy that affected his belief in god; in his middle life, he mainly focused on college and his studies, but his father’s death played a role in Lewis later becoming a Christian. In Lewis’ later life, he married one of his own fans. Clive’s passion for writing began when he was a small child, and it continued to grow as he furthered his education to become a college professor at Oxford University. Lewis is still remembered today for his great works, such as The Screwtape Letters and The Chronicles of Narnia, which is a popular series among children.
She also begins to understand emotion better, and think about it. “‘What…. do you love, Lily?’ No one had ever asked me this before. What did I love?” (Kidd 139). Under T. Ray’s care, Lily was still developing her sense of self and beginning to feel deeper, but T. Ray didn’t really allow her to feel or be who she was. When Lily is finally freed from T. Ray’s stifling attitude, she has the freedom to explore being a teenaged girl, and to figure out who she it with Rosaleen, August, May, June and Zach. In the story, Lily is finding out who she is, and how she feels. This new awareness of emotion is imperative to that search. Lily is becoming more aware of her emotions in this

Day 20. Hell is the way of living after being in this battle ,and what i have seen after these twenty days has changed my life forever. We have managed to take the village about 10 miles out of normandy after fighting for 2 days taking out a small german armoured division consisting of panzer 4s and about 20 infantry. This battle was one of the worst, hitler's buzzsaw or the mg42 blew my cousins jacobs limbs away, I had to watch him die. I know I could not do anything or else I was going to be ripped up. Thankfully we were able to call in airsupport i remember hearing the stupid grouts yelling ¨ Es ist der Jugg laufen!!¨.
Today I can finally see my surroundings even sometimes my mother's eyes. Just 35 days ago I couldn't do anything. I ate, slept, slept some more, woke up and ate again.. I sleep day in and day out in my mom's pouch. It's very warm and cozy I have a lot of time to think and develop. I spend many hours or even a day in total darkness. Every once in awhile I’ll come out of mom’s pouch. I feel the bright sun on my fur, and smells that come from the forests. I love seeing the new surroundings every day. I hate being in the dark cramped space. Mom tells me I’m very different than her other children. I still don't know if that means or if it's even good or bad. My nose is just starting to come through. Mommy says I look a lot like my father. Which I wouldn’t know because he left right after mating with mom. I still am very tiny though, but it's a long process.
