All that needs to be done for a person to see that climate change is upon the world is to look outside. The seasons that used to be defined by their drastically different weather have started to blend into a year-long battle for hot and cold, along with unusual rainfall during typically dry spells. Climate change is the change in global or regional climate patterns. Global warming is the idea that the world is being heated by a few degrees every year brought on by an increase in carbon dioxide levels from the growing use of fossil fuels. Together these two things will begin to change the habitats as we know them and could devastate the world as we know it. There have been many studies on the changing climate, and people have begun to realize how significant of an issue this is in present time. The government and the EPA have released many bulletins on changes that are currently taking place, and have projected that it will only continue to escalate to the point that humankind will have a minuscule chance of survival. There are those who do not agree that people are causing the shut-down of the climates, or adding to the breakdown of the ozone layer that protects us from radiation in the atmosphere. Some scientists refuse to accept that taking any preventative measures will have any impact on the climate changes, in lieu of the astounding evidence that points to us being the major contributors of the carbon dioxide buildup in the air. The world has many years existing in this galaxy and every day we see that is changing more and more but not in a very good way that it can end in the extinction of the planet earth. “Earth Hasn’t Heated Up This Fast Since the Dinosaurs’ End” (Lavelle). Carbon is growing so fast in the atmosphere faster than in the past 66 million years since the dinosaurs went extinct (Lavelle). All the presidents hold a position of power that could change this big problem that the planet is having, behind this problem there is other problems that are causing a much bigger problem in all the country. “By year 2100, the average temperature will rise by 5.8 degrees as a result of global warming. The Arctic ice is melting rapidly. By 2040 the region is expected to have a completely ice-free summer, or even earlier. Since 1880, the average temperature has risen by 1.4-Fahrenheit degrees” (Rinkesh). Humans are the one in power of this planet, they are often making some decisions, but they do not know if that is going to hurt the planet. Also, is because humans are selfish. These decisions often include manipulating the system of other country, how they work, what products they can make, how to get benefit from that country, and etc. Also, taking control and/ or credit over other countries work. Climate change otherwise known as global warming has been an ongoing issue for decades. Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere. Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth’s atmosphere, causing rising sea-levels, melting snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, “Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift Within Decades, Not Centuries” he focuses on a paper written by a former NASA climate scientist, James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change on Earth today. Although many believe Hansen’s theories in the paper are quite far-fetched, the author mentions, “Despite any reservations they might have about the new paper, virtually all climate scientists agree with Dr. Hansen’s group that society is not moving fast enough to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, posing grave risks” (Gillis). Gillis validates the fact that climate change has been rapidly expanding throughout Earth and society has not been able to reduce it fast enough. Many negative risks are being posed and will continue to mount if the issue of climate change is not taken seriously. Although climate change negatively affects nearly all aspects of the Earth, it poses a big threat to agriculture and food production.
Climate Change is happening all over and it has extreme consequences. Governor Inslee’s plan is heading in the right direction to solve these problems. To help reduce these consequences we need to find alternative cleaner resources to use.

Two significant patterns which have occurred due to climate change are temperature and precipitation dispersion. These two patterns strongly correlate which each other and help us to explain processes and therefore implications both socially and economically which are caused from climate change. Inland regions of continental lands masses (excluding the Arctic and Antarctic) heat up far more so than coastal regions, this is because radiation from the sun is these places are high and rock is a poor conductor of heat. Meaning the radiation is only absorbed by the surface. Coastal regions suffer far less from this effect because the ocean conducts heat much more effectively, allowing much more even heating of the ocean and therefore a smaller overall heat increase. The higher levels of heat experienced in the equator due to high sun radiation are an example of how the ocean regulates heat. Through ocean currents this heat is dispersed and is eventually ends up flowing all the way to the poles where its heat energy is released. This means the temperature of coastal regions is far less extreme than inland regions in general. With climate change being upon us, the time to act is now. Evidence of drastic climate changes include the following: record low polar ice caps during the summer of 2012, record drought in California, excessive flooding in the eastern half of Texas and record heat in India. This is all evidence of what our “normal” climate will be like in the future. If we don’t act right now, we will live in a world where cities along the coast like Miami, New York and New Orleans will be partially underwater. Record breaking heatwaves like the Chicago Heatwave of 1995 and the European Heatwave during the summer of 2003 will become a normal occurrence. Furthermore, polar bears will become extinct, since there will be little to no ice in the arctic during the next few years and decades. Therefore, we must be cautious of the actions that we take right now, since the future of our planet is heavily dependent on it. Increased burning of fossil fuels and rising greenhouse gases have both boosted the rate of climate change to unprecedented lengths that we have never seen before. For the last 10,000 years, the Earth’s temperature has been fairly steady, fluctuating by only about one degree Celsius. Since human existence the Earth’s temperature has fallen within this narrow range; however, for the first time in our history we have pushed above our historical temperature range due to emittance of anthropogenic carbon emissions. Scientists are uncertain of how much warming humanity can tolerate before experiencing the most destructive and dangerous effects of climate change, but most believe that two degrees Celsius is a good starting point to aim for. Thus, the stated goal of many international climate dialogs, such as the Paris Agreements, has been to stop the planet from warming an additional two degrees Celsius in order to mobilize the action need to get the whole world to work collaboratively to solve more extensive warming. With the impending threats of sea level rise, super storms, food shortages, and extinction, environmentalists must find a new course of action. If the worst manifestations of climate change are to be prevented, the movement must more effectively engage the public and facilitate a reduction of carbon emissions and material waste. At the root of this issue lies environmentalism’s failure to embrace a single conception of nature. As the movement lacks a consensus on “nature,” it has no uniformity of rhetoric or singular goal. Some environmentalists wish to preserve sublime wilderness, others fight to prevent ecological collapse, while still others wish simply to save nature. Whatever their motives for participation, environmentalists must unify behind one conception
Climate change could be described as any process that causes adjustment to climate system be it a volcanic eruption to a change in the solar activity. Today, however, the phrase is most often used as climate change caused by humans. Climate change is also used commonly with another phrase – "global warming" – reflecting scientific observations of strong warming trends over the past century or so.
