History is like a huge puzzle. People can keep find missing pieces to the story as they learn more about it. The Holocaust was one of those moments in history that has lead our minds to curiosity about why such a thing would occur at some point in time. For example, concentration camps. Concentration camps are one of those moments in history that make people’s jaws drop because of how flabbergasted they are to even hear of such a thing. Once you hear about one fact about the Holocaust and concentration camps you want to know every little detail about it to try and analyze what was happening and how it happened. Concentration camps in the Holocaust were a turning point in history because it lead to the deaths of millions of people.

Why were people put in concentration camps? Well that's due to what they were guilty of like a crime sort of and what race/religion they were. However concentration camps were not just used for work some were for killing and some were used for torture. Some kids got thrown in the camps where they kill you only because they couldn't use you for work or anything because you were too young. When you got thrown into a centration camp it was usually for your race/religion. When people usually think of concentration camps they think of torture and work and things like that but that's not the only thing that they will throw you in there for they will also throw you in there to kill you.

​A Concentration Camp was a place where they held Jews and other prisoners which they treated very harshly. There were twenty three major concentration camps all over the world. Such as Poland, Germany, Netherlands, and France. Also there were Extermination Camps which is where mass murders occurred during this time. Some of these camps were called Belzec, Chelmno, and Majdanek. Even though they were treated poorly, some of the prisoners survived.

One of the problems Asian American communities faced during World War 2 is concentrations camps. Since the United States went to war all Japanese, Germans, and Italians were seen as enemies so, they were put in camps because the U.S did not did not trust them. Also it was a way to have control over them having them in camps. Over five thousand Japanese were detained and were intern in camps in Mexico, Montana, South Dakota, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. There were ten more relocations camps located in California, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Arkansas.

The Holocaust nearly made the Jewish population and religion disappear from the face of the Earth. From January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945; Adolf Hitler, German politician and leader of the Nazi party, ran the Holocaust all over Germany and Eastern Europe. Prisoners and victims of the Holocaust include: the majority of the Jewish population, German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, and people accused of socially deviant or socially unacceptable behavior. They were sent to many different areas that had different purposes. The most used places they were sent to are called concentration camps. Once they entered the concentration camps, there was no escaping; those people officially became prisoners. There were 23 main concentration camps and around 900 sub camps. Concentration camps tricked the Jewish people into coming into them by offering them a better life on the welcoming signs outside. Some of the main camps had many different inhumane uses. All of the camps are notorious for their cruel and evil ways of everything that they did to prisoners, such as the genocide the Holocaust caused (Concentration Camps, Killing Methods, Jewish Population).

Thousands of people were dying every day because of the hatred for the jewish population that people displayed. People hated the Jews so much that they thought they needed to be punished. On January 30, 1933, World War II was already having thousands upon thousands of deaths per day, but it was about to get a lot worse when the Holocaust began. The Holocaust made the number of total deaths rise by about two million. The jewish people were put into concentration camps because Hitler believed they were not as good as everyone else, so he treated them terribly and their living conditions in concentration camps were awful.

Concentration Camps were an imfamous event in WWII. But, not in a good way. Concentration Camps were not only the place where millions of innocent people were brutally murdered. They were so much more. During WWII, there were over 1,200 camps that were run by Nazi Germany. They were placed all over Europe and held many people of different beliefs, races, abilty, age, and religion. Hitler, the “ruler” over the Nazis, sent millions of people to their death to these camps. There were a few different types of camps that held different ways of handling the prisioners.

Now around 1934 there were at least over fifty-five concentration camps, but every camp had a different purpose, one purpose could be could be how they transport them to others camps to do forced labor and other would trap them into a little cave where they made sure there everything was in its right order. You had camps that were alongside the railroad, then you had some that were in the middle of nowhere. The condition were so traumatizing that the Nazis kept telling the Jews to have hope. The Nazis enjoy making them suffers. One of the largest concentration camp was the Auschwitz, it came about on April 27, 1940. It was a death camp. Naming just a couple camps, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Belzec, Buchenwald were some of the major known camps. Concentration Camps were a big part of the holocaust .These Camps changed the life of many and for the future to come. The Holocaust was a traumatic event that caused the deaths of over 6 million Jews. In today’s world, people don’t know what really happened inside the hell holes they called Concentration Camps. Jews, Gypsies, Gays, and elderly people were worked to death inside the detainment centers. To prevent a massive genocidal act like this from happening again, learning from past mistakes could prevent them from happening again.

Between 1938 and 1939 the Nazis expanded the concentration camps. The amount of people that were said to be political enemies of the Nazis increased, in return they had to create more camps. During the holocaust more than 40,000 of these camps were established. Among the numerous camps some of the most infamous are Auschwitz-Birkenau, Poland, this was because of its size and the large amount of lives lost within its walls.

Concentration camps, were camps used to detain Jewish people all around, and were usually under harsh conditions. The camps were set up to keep Jews in one place and to have possession of them. They were put to work in all conditions and forced to wear a uniform of some sort and shave their head. Some mass murders took place in gas chambers, where Natzis would gather a huge number of innocent Jewish people and forcibly made them enter a gas chamber and simply light them on fire while inside. The creation of these Concentration camps was one quite vicious yet fallacious.
