Heart racing and adrenaline pumping, John pushes the throttle on the bike, he goes ten, fifteen, twenty miles per hour and next thing you know, John is gone. The need for speed has always been in high demand. Fast cars, fast boats, and the thrill of having the wind blow in your hair is what evolved a simple bicycle into a heavenly creation. The average speed riding neutral on a course fourteen point three miles on a bicycle is between fifteen and seventeen miles per hour (“The Average Speed Page”). When riding a motorized bike, the average would be that of twenty five to thirty five miles per hour. A Motorized bike has to have an internal combustion engine of fifty cc or less, and it can also have an electric engine. With cars or bikes if engine tells you the amount of cc it has just means it’s a shorter way for saying the real name. CC stands for the cubic centimeter capacity of combustion cylinder, which denotes the power in the engine, which means the higher the cc the more horse power there is. Motorized bikes cannot have an engine bigger than fifty cc it also needs to be a four stroke or two stroke internal combustion engines. If the engine is bigger than fifty cc, it is not classified as a motorized bicycle. A motorized bike with fifty cc engine can have three to four horse powers which will make it go around thirty miles per hour maybe more depending on the weight of the rider. The other form of a motorized bike is called e-bike these bikes have batteries on them to assist with pedaling (Smeaton). An electric bicycle is a bike with an electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery and a method of control to either offer totally motorized cycling or a mix of pedal and motor power (Smeaton). Electric bikes, better known as e-bikes are becoming more popular with the environmentalists (Lenchner). Electric bikes have become more recognized by people.
