According to historians Islam can be found all the way back to 7th Century Saudi Arabia, making it the newest of the great world religions. The Islam religion was introduced by the prophet Muhammad. He started Islam because he claimed to experience an “angelic visitation”. This laid the foundations for a new religion.
The whole basis of Islam is its “Scripture.” They called their bible the Qur’an. In this book, the Muslim will find all he needs to know in this life to please Allah. The words that are in the Qur’an are the words that the Angel Gabriel is supposed to have spoken to Muhammad over about 12 years. In this book, the basic beliefs, or 5 pillars are explained. The five pillars are the framework or commandments of the Muslim life. They are the testimony of faith, prayer, giving of alms, fasting, and pilgrimage.
The testimony of faith confesses that there is only one god. Their god isn’t our holy God, theirs is Allah. The Muslims believe that there is no true god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet. They believe that his is one, unique, and incomparable. No other being shares his divinity, or his attributes. This testimony of faith is the most important pillar of Islam. We believe differently however. Isaiah 44:6 says, “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer of the LORD of hosts; I am the first and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” This passage clearly states that the Islamic religion is incorrect.
