National Honor Society, a society of students, teachers, and many others who embodied the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These people embody these characteristics in every aspect of their lives. Provisional members, like myself, have been selected due to our success in meeting the academic criteria for a membership in the National Honor Society. These students, however, are just provisional members as being a member of National Honor Society is far more than just receiving high honors on a report card. One must exhibit true leadership, scholarship service, and character by going above and beyond what is required of them. Not doing the bare minimum, bet instead going the extra mile to accomplish whatever is asked of them to their fullest potential. Through this, a student can then be accepted into this society. For myself, it will only be a continuation of living like this, holding scholarship, leadership, service, character, and integrity in all my actions.
Scholarship can be simply defined, and simply accomplished. However, is it far from being easy. As maintaining an average grade point average of 90 or above for some is not a problem, but that is not the goal of National Honor Society. To be scholarly is not just getting the perfect score, or being happy with anything above a 90 because that is the minimum. Simply being invited to become a member of the National Honor Society is a privilege. It’s not necessarily surprising to me that I was invited but rather gives me an exhilarating feeling. A part of me now knows that my sedulous efforts have finally paid off. Throughout my high school career so far I’ve exhibited the four pillars, which are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. This organization administers a plethora of opportunities that has an impact on the students and the lives of others especially. To be accepted into the National Honor Society would motivate me to contribute even more to not only our school but also the community.
Since entering the National Honor Society I have learned the significance of hard work. Good grades, the ability to show cooperation and leadership, and having the desire to help others without instruction are needed in the society. The National Honor Society has revealed the importance of hard work to me, and once inaugurated, one's efforts cannot slack up. One must still be engaged in keeping good grades, participating in voluntary work, and doing everything to the absolute best of your ability.

Many only see the National Honor Society as an organization that will look excellent on college applications, and although that may be true, the National Honor Society is not an organization that can be taken so lightly. The National Honor Society is so much more than a scholarship-granting organization, the NHS is an organization that helps develop the requisite for render service and the development of leadership and character. The growth and success of the NHS relies on not only its members, but also those outside of the organization. Its members can only do so much on their own. The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. When I was fist informed of something called National Junior Honor Society in middle school, I was unsure if I wanted to be a part of it, but soon after research and explanation, I quickly knew that this was something I wanted to join.
