On page 418 the Friar says, “so smile the heavens upon this holy act that after hours with sorrow chide us not!” Which means that you are together and the future will not punish them with sadness. The Friar also gave Juliet a way out of her second marriage with Paris by giving her a potion to make her …show more content…
As you can see on page 453 the Friar says to Juliet, “This distilled liquor drink thou off; When presently through all thy veins shall run a cold drowsy humor.” What the Friar is describing are the effects of the potion if Juliet drinks it. Another way the Friar is guilty of murder is that he didn't deliver the letter to Romeo himself, if he wouldn't have given the letter to Friar John and just delivered the letter himself then Romeo would have known about Juliet’s ‘Death’. As you can see on page 468, Romeo was expecting a letter from the Friar but doesn't receive one. “Dost thou not bring me letters from the Friar?” Even though Friar Lawrence is mostly the blame for the two teen’s deaths it is also the Capulet’s faults because Mr. And Mrs. Capulet pushed Juliet to marry Paris. Mr. Capulet even disowned his poor daughter because at first she declined her father’s proposal to marry Paris (page 444). But, the deaths of Romeo and

Secondly, he organizes a plan for Juliet to take the potion to fake her death. In the plan he also decides to send a message to Romeo explaining their plans but Friar John says “I could not send it – here it is again –/ Nor get a messenger to bring it thee,” (5.2.14-15) to Friar Lawrence so Romeo was never informed of the plan. Lastly, at the end of the play when he finds Juliet and a dead Romeo, he leaves and says “Come go, good Juliet, I dare no longer stay.” (5.3.159). Once both sides are involved, it means Romeo and Juliet must be

Romantic love stories are often ended with a tragedy, because of loss of passion or a loved one. These tragedies are often the result of one person’s actions that ended someone’s life or love. In the Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare, two citizens of Verona come together and fall deeply in love. Unfortunately their love comes to an end, along with their lives, because of a misunderstanding and a persistent feud between their families. Although there are many characters in this play that have contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death, Friar Laurence is the person most to blame.
Friar Lawrence plays a big part in causing the death of Romeo and Juliet because he secretly marries them knowing something either negative or positive will happen. Friar even tells Romeo the cautions for he says 'Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.' (Act II Scene III 97) Friar marries them because he thinks that the marriage is going to end the feud between the families of Romeo and Juliet. He knows that even though Romeo and Juliet are in love they will never be able to see each other. Not in a grave to lay one in, another out to have” (Act II scene III 85) Also, if Friar Lawrence did not give Juliet the potion that she was going to use to deceive her family into thinking she was dead to get out of her marriage to Paris and make Romeo aware of what was going to happen, their deaths would not have occurred. Romeo goes to the tomb thinking Juliet is really dead after Balthasar accidently informed him of Juliet’s apparent death not knowing of her plan. If he had stayed there longer without taking the poison he had obtained from Apothecary they both would not have killed themselves. He brought the poison to the tomb to end his own life next to Juliet after seeing for himself if she was really dead. Romeo did not want to live without Juliet.
Friar Lawrence is a valuable person in the book Romeo and Juliet. He offers advice and helps tries to help Juliet find a way out of marriage. He is a wise and sympathetic man. He is always looking out for people in need. When Romeo comes to Friar Lawrence because Romeo thinks he is in love with Juliet. Friar Lawrence takes his opinion into consideration, and tries to help him out, at the best of his abilities. Some critics argue whether or not it it was his fault for their death. It was truly his fault. Friar Lawrence is guilty for the death of Romeo and Juliet is because he gave Juliet the potion, he knew how Romeo would react the way he did, and he had left Juliet by herself when she found out Romeo was dead.
The Friar had good intentions when he married Romeo and Juliet, as shown in this quote, “For this alliance may so happy prove/ To turn your households’ rancour to pure love” (2.4.91-92). In this quote, Friar Lawrence explains his reasoning behind marrying Romeo and Juliet, he thought that by marrying the two, he could stop the feud. This did not work as no one told the rest of the families and the Capulets tried to marry Juliet to Paris. The Friar also failed to get the letter to Romeo that would have told him that Juliet wasn’t dead. If Romeo had received this letter, he would not have committed suicide in Juliet's grave when he returned to Verona. Also, if the Friar had gotten to Juliet’s grave any earlier, he could have saved both Romeo and Juliet. The following quote is from the final scene of the play, “Miscarried by my fault, let my old life / Be sacrificed, some hour before this time, / unto the rigour of the severest law” (5.3.271-274). In this scene, the Friar admits the part that he played in Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. He volunteers himself to be punished for this, but the rest of the families and the Prince don't want to punish him. Although he meant well, Friar Lawrence’s actions resulted in the deaths of Romeo and
Who was at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet? The facts in the book “Romeo and Juliet”, written by William Shakespeare, all point to Friar Lawrence, because of the “help” he said to be doing with his plan. He entrusted a poison to juliet, he fled from the tomb, and above all he admitted to killing them himself.
What is most responsible for the two lovely lover-Romeo and Juliet’s death? In my opinion, there is no one particular person to really blame on their death. However, it is every single person are should be blamed for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. If I was answering the question of who were the few most responsible people for their tragedy-it would be three people. Because of people’s decision and different point of view, the people most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Lady Capulet, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence.
In Romeo And Juliet, Friar Lawrence plays a very important role in not only being a friend of the lovers, but also the person who is to blame for their deaths. Many people argue about who is the one who caused their deaths; Friar always seems to be the most popular. There are different explanations on who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death, two big ones being Friar Lawrence and Nurse.
“Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set on the fair daughter of rich Capulet.” was a quote of Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This play is about two teenagers, Romeo, and Juliet, from feuding families who fall into love with each other, and it takes place in the city of Verona. Friar Lawrence secretly marries them, but then Romeo gets into a fight and gets banished forever. Juliet's father, Lord Capulet wants Juliet to marry one of the king’s men, Paris, but Juliet does not want to. The Friar helps her get out of marrying Paris. There are a lot of deaths in this book, and I believe that Friar Lawrence, and Lord Capulet are to blame for these deaths.
I believe the Friar is the one to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. One reason is that if he didn't marry Romeo and Juliet. “In respect I’ll thy assistant be; for this alliance man prove to turn your households into pure love”(act 2 scene 3). The Friar thought that by marrying the two young lovers would fix the family feud but in the end it all fell apart. The Friar also gives Juliet the poison. “And, if thou darest, I’ll give thee remedy” (Act 4 pg 453). Not to mention that Juliet didn't know the Friar so all for she knows he can be a criminal trying to kill her. “I hear thou must and nothing may prorogue it on Thursday next be married to this county” (S.S 452).
In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he gave Juliet the potion, he didn’t communicate, and he didn’t tell the parents about Romeo or Juliet. Have you ever been in love where it causes you to lose your mind? Shakespeare’s play is about a man named Romeo who has fallen in love with a girl named Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were in love and will do anything for each other. They got married without either of their parents knowing. So they kept it a secret and Juliet wanted to get away from her parents to be with Romeo. In doing so Romeo and Juliet died, but there’s someone to blame for these deaths.
Friar Lawrence had the idea that if he married Romeo and Juliet, he would bring peace between the Montagues and the Capulets. However, the marriage is kept a secret, and Lord Capulet still wants Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet believes that she has no other way to be with Romeo than to fake her death. “Take thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilled liquor thou off, when presently through all veins shall run a cold and drowsy humour for no pulse shall keep his native progress but surcease: No warmth, no breath, shall testify thou livest; The roses in thy lips and cheeks shall fade, to paly ashes, thy eyes’ windows fall, like death, when he shuts up the day of life” (4.1.96-104). In order for Juliet to fake her death and be with Romeo, she needed help from Friar Lawrence. He gives her a potion that makes her seem dead for forty-two hours. The issue here is that Romeo wasn’t ever notified of this plan and the message wasn’t delivered to him. Romeo thought that Juliet was actually dead, and as a result, he decides to kill himself. When Juliet wakes up and realizes Romeo is dead, she kills herself successfully. If Friar Lawrence hadn’t married Romeo and Juliet, and had delivered Romeo the message himself, the suicides could have been avoided. As a result, Friar Lawrence has a partial blame in the deaths of Romeo and
