The Golden Goblet, by Eloise Jarvis McGraw illustrates a story about a young Egyptian boy named Ranofer who has to make some very hard decisions about this life. The most prerequisite event in this thrilling tale is when Ranofer finds a golden goblet in the room of Gebu, Ranofer’s nefarious half brother . This is the most important event because it helps Ranofer find out about Gebu’s plans, it is the cause for Ranofer thoughts after he finds the goblet, and the goblet is prove that Gebu is stealing from the tombs of kings. In The Golden Goblet, Ranofer finds out that Gebu is stealing from tombs, but Ranofer would not have figured this out if not for the goblet. My evidence from the book is, “Gebu had robbed a tomb.” This is on page 167. …show more content…
On page 173 in the book it “ He stole a treasure from the previous habitation of that great king… I will tell someone right away.” On page 181 it articulates, “As soon as he leaves for the wine shop I’ll go up those stairs, then I’ll take the goblet and run to Zau even if it’s midnight.” These assertions are Ranofer’s thoughts. In the book Ranofer tries his best to get the confidence to fulfill his plans. In the end Ranofer does succeed in putting Gebu in jail, but consequently this would never happen if Ranofer didn’t find the goblet. The goblet was the cause for Ranofer’s plans in his head. Therefore if Ranofer didn't find the goblet he wouldn’t have made plans in his head to turn Gebu in. The Goblet is evidence that Gebu is stealing from tombs. In the book it proclaims “Still, Zau might believe if he held the goblet in his hand.” “Take the goblet from the chest and show it to a soldier?” These communiqués were both found on page 174 in the book. In The Golden Goblet, Gebu seems very persuasive, therefore having the goblet is a good idea. The affirmations that Ranofer proclaimed are evidence that Ranofer did need the goblet to assure any that Gebu was stealing from the tombs. That is to say that Ranofer finding the golden goblet gave him prove that Gebu was stealing from the
For a lot of people gold means wealthy, In The glass Castle gold are used as hope and happiness and something to look forward to in the near future. The family held onto the thought that gold could give them something to be looking forward to whether it's the wedding ring or the glass castle it was valuable to them. "That was why we had to find gold. To get mom a new wedding ring. That and so we could build the Glass Castle" (Wells28). This example proves that gold symbolizes the one thing superior to look forward to during the difficult times. In conclusion, I feel like gold has a very strong importance to the Glass castle and the family.
3.) While returning the plans to the storeroom, Ranofer begins tying together many signs, such as the fact that Gebu has been attaining man new possessions lately that lead him to believe that Gebu is stealing
On November 4, 1922 Howard Carter discovered King Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt. Howard Carter spent almost his whole life looking for King Tut’s tomb and when he found it he was over the moon. King Tut’s tomb was very important, it helped us learn more about earlier civilizations, and showed us what king tut's reign was like while he was king.
The narrative structure of a story is extremely important because it is the reason the reader feels attracted or not towards the story. J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, narrated her story in a way that makes it easy to comprehend and maintains the reader attracted to it. Rowling included several types of events throughout the novel that makes the reader follow the story without getting lost in the middle of the story. The author introduces characters without getting the reader lost, makes the reader dislike certain characters due to their characteristics, and presents conflicts between good and evil.
Protecting these jewels was the purpose of life and when something had come up missing the dragon’s wrath was unleashed. Don’t steal from someone you can’t run from. “So mankind’s enemy, the mighty beast slept in those stone walls for hundreds of years.” (The Dragon, pg. 61 658-660) The dragon sleeping in those walls for years protected the gold from all greedy men from obtaining
In the book called, ‘’The Golden Goblet’’, the author tells about a boy named Ranofer. He lives in ancient Egypt with his half brother and his friend. Another item the narrator stores in his briefcase is a coin bank. Right before he is about to leave Mary (the kind lady who gives him refuge in New York) to join the Brotherhood, the narrator notices a “cast-iron figure

this case is kind of showing why archaeologists get so angry when people mess with their sites. it is significant to history Because the object is gold and it was something that a person would wear end they were they wouldn't use gold as money they would use gold as important objects in like I look this person have gold so it means they have an important status and the fact that it was a cape that was born makes it all the more important for the society we can it guess that the person who was the leader of the group.

The hero’s journeys of Gilgamesh and J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series shape the central characters and develop their qualities so they can rise to their station and overcome their difficult tasks along the way.
This approach to the opening of the chamber demonstrates Carter’s caution that he took into the excavation of Tutankhamun’s tomb and the transportation of the contents that was inside it. Carter opened the burial chamber and when he did he was confronted by the golden walls and two large statues “So enormous was this structure (17 feet by 11 feet, and 9 feet high, we found out afterwards) that it filled within a little the entire area of the chamber” gives an accurate description of these statues and an accurate account of the amount of artefacts that were found in Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Over the past month, we read the Story of the Grail by Chretien de Troyes. This poem details the progression of the knight Perceval. In the beginning, Perceval is not called by his name, instead he is referred to as “the youth”. This is an important detail to stress, because the poem is a coming of age story. As the poem progresses, the reader is able to see definitive changes in Perceval’s character. For example, in the beginning of the poem Perceval uses the limited knowledge that was bestowed upon him by his mother in order to complete his “knightly” duties. To make it worse, Perceval feels the need to tell everyone he meets that his mother is the one that taught him everything he knows. Eventually, Perceval outgrows this behavior and becomes a suitable knight. Throughout the poem, Perceval goes through many trials and tribulations, but for the purpose of this essay I will unravel the allegorical meaning of Perceval’s fight with the Red Knight using all four levels of interpretation.
This Goblet Inscribed with the names King Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti, is made of travertine, (Egyptian alabaster) height 5 ½ in diameter 4 1/8 in. (MET). When I look at this piece I feel it may commemorate a wedding, anniversary, or King Akhenaten’s deep love and affections for his principal Queen Nefertiti. This Piece encompasses the changes King Amenhotep is making in the Egyptian culture, as the previous artworks and vessels have a much different look and style. King Akhenaten has as of yet changed his name as the cup shows the name Amenhotep IV and his principal Queen Nefertiti. This places the goblet at about 5 years into King Akhenaten’s rule over Egypt. The Goblet is not a typical show of craft for that time in Egypt.
