If a death is preventable and one fails to prevent its occurrence, is he at fault? During and after the Holocaust, citizens of the United States pondered this question in the context of Jewish refugees murdered in Nazi Germany; ultimately, citizens remember this tragic genocide and promise it will not happen again under any circumstances, not only in America, but in other nations as well. Since the Holocaust, leaders and lawmakers in the United States have analyzed the causes that led to this event and designed laws and documents to prevent such an infraction of human rights from happening again. The long-lasting effects of the Holocaust, which expose the dangers of America’s isolation and conservative immigration policies, contribute to the liberalization of American immigration and increased worldwide instances of United States humanitarian intervention.

As a result of the Holocaust, a clear link can be made between Nazi racial ideologies and Hitler’s foreign policy. Firstly, Nazi ideologies were a fundamental facet to the Holocaust, as it included the philosophies of who constituted as a Jew, and the consequent treatment of those diagnosed as Jews. Secondly, Hitler’s foreign policies were another significant aspect of the holocaust, as it was a fundamental part in the construction of Hitler’s ultimate goal. Thirdly, the foreign policy and racial ideologies are revealed to be inextricably linked through the invasion of Poland in 1939. Fourthly it is evident that these foreign policies and racial ideologies contributed to Germany’s involvement in World War Two.

The Holocaust was perhaps one of the most gruesome and horrific time period that the world has ever seen. The Holocaust was the time period when the Jews were being horrible treated and were being executed by German forces in World War Two. In several books about the dark and horrible time period, the authors used many different techniques to convey the central idea and the theme. However, the authors uses different techniques in different genres to get shoe the reader the central idea and theme. For instance, there are different techniques in historical fiction and nonfiction, but they both develop the same theme and central idea.

Jewish people were tortured, abused, and subjected through horrific unfathomable situations by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. Despite all of the unpragmatic hardships Jews all over Europe faced, many stayed true to their faith and religion. There are numerous stories in which Jewish people tried to keep the roots of their religion well knowing the risk of torture and death. The never ending fear of Jewish people living in the Ghettos and trying to survive concentration camps was difficult, but not impossible for the Jews to keep religion.

In the last few years, some publications have appeared that treats one group or another, yet the state of our knowledge about the perpetrators remains incomplete. We know little about many of the institutions of killing, little about many aspects of the perpetration of the genocide, and still less about the perpetrators themselves. As a consequence, popular and scholarly myths and misconceptions about the perpetrators abound, including the following. It is commonly believed that the Germans slaughtered Jews by and large in the gas chambers, and that without gas chambers, modern means of transportation, and efficient bureaucracies, the Germans would have been unable to kill millions of Jews. The belief persists that somehow only technology made horror on this scale possible. It is generally believed that gas chambers, because of their efficiency, were a necessary instrument for the genocidal slaughter, and that the Germans chose to construct the gas chambers in the first place because they needed more efficient means of killing the Jews. It has been generally believed that the perpetrators were primarily, overwhelmingly SS men, the most devoted and brutal Nazis. It has been held that had a German refused to kill Jews, then he himself would have been killed, sent to a concentration camp, or severely punished. Horror struck on January 30, 1933, when Germany assigned Adolf Hitler as their chancellor. Once Hitler had finally reached power he set out to complete one goal, create a Greater Germany free from the Jews (“The reasons for the Holocaust,” 2009). This tragedy is known today as, “The Holocaust,” that explains the terrors of our histories past. The face of the Holocaust, master of death, and leader of Germany; Adolf Hitler the most deceitful, powerful, well spoken, and intelligent person that acted as the key to this mass murder. According to a research study at the University of South Florida, nearly eleven million people were targeted and killed. This disaster is a genocide that was meant to ethnically cleanse Germany of the Jews. Although Jewish people were the main target they were not the only ones targeted; gypsies, African Americans, homosexuals, socialists, political enemies, communists, and the mentally disabled were killed (Simpson, 2012, p. 113). The word to describe this hatred for Jewish people is known as antisemitism. It was brought about when German philosophers denounced that “Jewish spirit is alien to Germandom” (“Antisemitism”) which states that a Jew is non-German. Many people notice the horrible things the Germans did, but most don’t truly understand why the Holocaust occurred. To truly understand the Holocaust, you must first know the Nazis motivations. People are never evil just for the sake of being evil. They always justify to themselves in some way that all of their actions are for the greater good and that the actions they have committed are not atrocities. This has to be done since normal individuals cannot justify to themselves that they are immoral. Both western imperialism and the Holocaust had their atrocities justified by the illusion of progress. Even though numerous millions of people were slaughtered in these campaigns, many of the people doing the killing, believed that it was for the greater good. The Holocaust was a system established by the Nazis in World War II as a means to exterminate all of the people which they considered undesirable or subhuman. This included gypsies,minorities,cripples, the mentally ill, homosexuals,communists,and anyone who opposed the Nazi regime. The main target of the Holocaust was however the Jewish people. They were the main target because the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, believed that they were the reason for Germany losing World War 1 and thus was the reason that the German economy was in a bad state. Vladek Spiegelman and Elie Weisel were to people who were both survived their experiences in the Holocaust and both told their story in books. These books are Night by Elie Wiesel and Maus by Vladek Spiegelman.The Holocaust shaped these two different men's lives in the same way. Through their losses and experiences in this horrific point in time they learned what it meant to truly struggle and this ultimately turned them into better people.

The Holocaust was a repulsive time where many Jews suffered miserably from Hitler’s concentration camps and millions died. I researched this topic because I had learned about the Holocaust a little bit over the years, but I wanted to focus primarily on the United States and if Roosevelt helped the Jews who were suffering or if he only focused on the needs of his own country. Before I started my research, I knew a basic amount of information about the Holocaust itself and what Hitler had done to the Jews, but I knew nothing about what effect FDR had on the prosecution of Jews. I chose this topic mainly because I found it interesting to learn about and I knew I would enjoy reading about the Holocaust but another reason why I chose to research this topic is because I am Jewish. My great grandma had experienced the great depression and had lived during that heartbreaking time period. I wanted to learn more about my history and what it was like to be a Jew back in the 1930-1940’s. It is hard to imagine the hatred some people had for Jews and how awful they treated them. Learning about the Holocaust made me thankful for what I have because millions of survivors were scarred for the rest of their lives and experiencing the pain and torture European Jews underwent is unimaginable. Living in America, I wanted to know if we had helped. I wanted to know if our country cared about what was happening in Germany and if they put in a lot of effort to stop Hitler from his horrible actions.

In spite of the fact that it is a commonly known historical piece of the Holocaust, it’s authenticity has been questioned. Some conspiracies deny that it even happened at all. Through the analyzation of Hitler’s own violent anti-Semitism, powerful position, and ability to convey Nazi propaganda into action, one can see how he is the sole cause of the Holocaust.

The Holocaust of 1933-1945, was the systematic killing of millions of European Jews by the National Socialist German Worker’s Party (Nazis) (Webster, 430). This project showed the treacherous treatment towards all Jews of that era. Though many fought against this horrific genocide, the officials had already determined in their minds to exterminate the Jews. Thus, the Holocaust was a malicious movement that broke up many homes, brought immense despair, and congregated great discrimination. The Holocaust was an act of Hell on earth.

Imagine a plan where the ulterior motive was to essentially to kill every Jewish person in Europe. The Final Solution was the “Nazis’ program to solve their ‘Jewish question’—what to do with the Jews?—by murdering every Jew in Europe.” (Gale: World History in Context). It was formed by the Nazis (led by Adolf Hitler) during the Wannsee Conference in 1941, unlike the Nazi’s previous plans to isolate the European Jewish population in different parts of Europe, the Final Solution was a “final product” to completely get rid of the Jews by genocide. Genocide is the systematic killing of an entire race or ethnic group of people, the most famous example being the Holocaust.

The Holocaust is known to be time in history when Adolf Hitler was given power and used his power to attempt to eliminate all Jews in Europe. This essay will discuss Hitler’s anti-Semitic racial beliefs towards Jews, the consequences of his actions and the Final Solution. The Holocaust started around Germany only, though not long after it had spread along all Europe. Hitler instructed the Nazis in Germany in 1933 to eliminate all Jews in Europe any way they could and to destroy their homes, families and communities. The killing during the Holocaust didn’t only involve Jews, homosexuals, gypsies; people with physical or mental disabilities, some slaves and criminals were also killed. All these people were killed because Hitler considered them ‘undesirable’ and he believed that they didn’t deserve to be in Germany or have any rights. These people were either killed in gas chambers at concentration camps or extermination camps or they were brutally beaten and shot in front of everyone. The following paragraph will discuss Hitler’s racial beliefs towards Jews.

Many religious conflicts are built from bigotry; however, only few will forever have an imprint on the world’s history. While some may leave a smear on the world’s past, some – like the homicide of Semitic people – may leave a scar. The Holocaust, closely tied to World War II, was a devastating and systematic persecution of millions of Jews by the Nazi regime and allies. Hitler, an anti-Semitic leader of the Nazis, believed that the Jewish race made the Aryan race impure. The Nazis did all in their power to annihilate the followers of Judaism, while the Jews attempted to rebel, rioted against the government, and united as one. Furthermore, the genocide had many social science factors that caused the opposition between the Jews and Nazis.

The holocaust was a bleak and unrecoverable part of the history of the twentieth century that will always be remembered. Millions died for no reason except for one man’s madness. Although many people know why this war happened many don’t know when and what events lead up to this: the way Hitler came into power, or when the first concentration camp was established, and what city it was in, why Jews were hated so much by Hitler, and why the rest of the country also hated them as well as, and what the chronology of the Holocaust. These are some of the things I will explain in my paper.
