Introduction Everything happens for a reason. This saying is one of the most popular things that people say in today's world, especially after huge life changing events. These “life changing” events could be anything from a new child being born to a bombing in the Koreas. To really find out about my family history and further investigate this saying I interviewed my mother; Rebecca, and grandfather; Tom. In these interviews we talked about two huge events that have impacted history. These events are the Kennedy Assassination and the bombing of the World Trade Centers on September 11th, 2001. My family has been impacted by both events in numerous ways and I learned that these types of events not only cause mass hysteria, but also bring us closer together, and really force us to be grateful for what we have.
Conclusion
The Kennedy assassination and World Trade Center bombing are two very huge things that happened to America. One affected the lives of my grandparents and their parents, while the other affected the lives of my parents, grandparents, and even

As stated above, any American could tell you exactly what happened throughout that whole day like it was yesterday and not skip a beat. That is because this event was huge and really, truly changed the way in which we live our lives. My mother was at work when it happened and remembers every little bit of fear that she felt that day. Alot has happened in her life since than but she still lives off of what she learned from that day; “Never take any time with someone for granted and always be thankful for what you have in life.”(R.Hoover, Personal Communications) Luckily, Rebecca didn’t lose anyone in the bombings but she had no way of contacting her son because he was too young to know what was going on and because he was with his father that day while the two of them weren’t in the best of
Some events occurred may have affects in several ways. September 11, 2001 was a historic day in the United States. Four airplanes were hijacked by terrorists. The first one crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The second plane was stopped by passengers. The two of them crashed the biggest towers in the U.S which are the World Trade Center in New York. On that day 3,000 people died. These occasions changed American’s economy, American culture and the relationship with other countries.
Prior to September 11, 2001, I had no idea about what I wanted to do with my life. After the tragic events of September 11 and talking with several people at each branch's recruiters' stations- I decided that I would join the United States Navy. On November 14, upon arriving at Naval Station Great Lakes, I did not know what to expect. Over the next 8 weeks I was taught not only things to help me survive the Navy but life lessons to help me get through life in general. When I arrived at boot camp, I was given a complete health and dental physicals to ensure I was healthy enough to endure the stringent activities that I was going to go through. Along with my physicals, I was given shots to ensure that I would stay healthy. After shots, I was given
One of the the most terrible events that happened in the US was 9/11. 9/11 caused so many lives and injuries to many people. Many families have had to deal with the tragic losses that happened that day. There was many other things that led up to 9/11 that a lot of people may not know about. Many may not know but 9/11 was an inside job that has been planned for months and maybe years.
The terrorist attacks of September 11, altered American 's perceptions of the role in the world by strongly supporting the increased spending on national security and counterterrorism. Also, Americans have become more aware of how and where to engage in the world. As a result of the attacks, the US now has a defense that totals to nearly half the global total and has military dominance over scene, air, and space. The US also has the capability to dispatch massive military power anywhere in the world making them the system shaper. You may ask yourself just have a bad or do you check on September 11, 2001 was that led to this chaos and security becoming abnormally tight you may ask yourself just have a bad do you check on September 11, 2001
America has experienced some events that has made an impact on all of our lives. Take the attack on 9/11 for example; terrorists attacked the United States using planes. They hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. The terrorists flew two of the planes into two skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City. The impact caused the buildings to catch fire and collapse. Another plane destroyed part of the Pentagon (the U.S. military headquarters) in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Officials believe that the terrorists on that plane intended to destroy either the White House or the U.S. Capitol. Passengers was the plane fought the terrorists and prevented them from reaching their goal. In all, nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks. This attack reminded many people of the attack of Pearl Harbor. Both were very catastrophic events that changed U.S. History and America in a way that makes us realize that we need to be strong.
The attacks of 9/11 affected the United States by increasing discrimination, endangering the health of many Americans, hurting the economy and changing foreign and security policies.
The year I was born was march 19, 2001 this my name was Cameron price. This was a very significant year for the United States because of the terrorist attacks this brought people closer. In that happened in Florida where I was born was hurricane Gabrielle. This was a very tragic hurricane that happened in Florida and newfoundland. Hurricane Gabrielle was a North Atlantic hurricane that caused flooding in both Florida and Newfoundland in September 2001. They had 80 mile per hour winds lowest pressure was 975. The thing that was happening nationally In 2001. The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda on the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
That day dramatically changed our view on foreign policy, and caused us to get involved in many ongoing wars with Middle Eastern countries. Additionally, the government changed its view on immigration. Due to the fear of another attack by foreign people, the “war on immigration” came about and caused a surge of American people to believe that immigrants should be deported. Lastly, security at airports, malls, and almost every public venue was entirely redesigned for our protection, but what the government believes is good for the people, isn’t always so great after all. Most people believe that America grew back stronger because of the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, but it has only brought us away from the importance of simplicity in our daily
9/11, one of the most devastating events to take place in the history of the United States. This attack was lead by a former terrorist group named Al Qaeda, or was it. For this research paper, I have decided to go in depth of the event that took place on September 11th. I will be taking the side that states Al Qaeda had nothing to do with the attacks, and that it was in fact an inside job lead by Bush and his administration. I am covering this topic because ever since learning about this event in middle school, I have always been skeptical about why and how that happened. Personally, I would like to know more and see what can be discovered by researching this event. I am also doing this topic because I have heard from many people Bush was
Fourteen years ago, my father ran towards chaos as everyone ran away in fear. He believed he was just doing his duty to his country. He loaded up his gear got into the truck and began the long drive into lower Manhattan. Even at 5 years old I can still remember my mother sobbing, begging my dad not to go, not to get on the truck, to let the younger guys go. I remember sitting in front of the television watching the horrible terror that my dad was willingly walking into. My father was one of the hundreds of volunteer firemen that responded on that fateful September day. What didn’t cross our minds was that this heroic act could have negatively impact the rest our lives.
The horror of the assassination of JFK was recreated on the quiet Tuesday morning of September 11, 2001. When Islamic terrorists flew commercial airplanes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This changed everything, bringing the often underestimated threat of global terrorism into the minds of Americans everywhere. With president Bush declaring war on terrorism, the world is still fighting against these extremists to this day. It changed the lives of everyone, and is a global event, not just an American
The 9/11 attacks opened the avenue for a scrutiny of the performance and ability of the intelligence community to detect any threats to the safety of the United States. The media, politicians, reformists and other interested parties would not comprehend how such an attack would happen without the knowledge of the intelligence community. However, it is important to consider the fact that the attack was one of its kind and could not be approached with the resources and expertise used in other initiative such as the cold war. Therefore, the need to restructure the intelligence community arose from the view that it was still operating in the mindset and spirit of the cold war even in the modern era that had seen a revolutionary change of warfare
What I think is the most significant historical event that has happened during my lifetime is 9/11. Even though I was two years old at the time, it still took a giant toll on America as a whole with its sense of security and the affect it had on the economy. 9/11 was a series of 4 adroit terrorist attacks by Al Qaeda, an Islamic terrorist group, on the United States on September 11, 2001. The attack targeted symbolic United States landmarks such as the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In total, 2,996 people had died and caused at least $10 billion in property and infrastructure damage. It was the most deadly incident for firefighters and law enforcers in the history of the United States. The U.S. was suspicious
I had never been passionate about anything until 9/11. Thinking back, that was probably the strongest memory I have as a child that really motivated me to want to change the world for the better . Growing up in New York there have always been A lot of liberal people around me and I think that really influenced me into wanting to put a piece of myself out into the world. My love for art and film blossomed through those influences and made me who I am today. I think showing a message through my art is really my main purpose on earth. Expressing myself through sculptures and pictures is my way of changing the world for the better.
There are 11 in my family 7 girls and 4 boys, we always get together for Thanksgiving and have Coca Cola to drink. My baby brother would always drink all the Coca Cola and my oldest sister would have to buy more. Three years ago, my oldest sister opens up some bottle of Coke and put some laxatives and milk of magnesia in them. If only you could have seen my baby brother face . Now he will not touch the Coca Cola until dinner
