Describe two key differences between a guidance technician and guidance professional.
Technician view the concept of teaching as an effective implementation of the present curriculum and discipline system. They are determined by traditions, expectation and are inflexible by the school rules. Professionals make informed hypotheses by continuing education and experience and are easier to adjust teaching practices because of that mind set.
In your own words, describe the two negative effects of labeling and the result of each of them.
The negative effects of labeling a child are that children are mindful and see themselves as the label. This result them as incorporated that label in their self concept and future behaviors. The second negative effect is the teacher belief that the problem is in the child and does not have anything to do with their relationship. This result is that the teacher expects the behavior and is concisely on the lookout for that child to do the behavior and failure to look for

The labeling theory is based off of interactions between individuals and society. It suggests that the negative labels given to individuals by society can cause the individual to become that label.
Labelling refers to meanings or definitions we attach to someone or something to make sense of them and these could be negative or positive labels. For example, in schools teachers are likely to label middle-class pupils as bright and more able to achieve in education whereas, they would see working class pupils as less able. Teacher labels can affect a pupil’s educational achievement as it will influence how they perform educationally. However, there are other school factors which cause underachievement and these are, the self-fulfilling prophecy, streaming and pupil subculture.

To understand labeling we must first look at its definition. Labeling Theory is a theoretical approach to deviant behavior, basically stating that applying formal definitions to an
The labeling theory describes how we behave and shows reactions on the justice system and focuses on the reaction of delinquency and others such as parents, and peers. I also noticed how theorists viewed the people bad or good before even getting to know what kind of people they were. Some of the reactions toward juveniles were labeled as evil and bad. Juveniles are also labeled as bad and dangerous when police treat them in a terrible way. I have never understood why people always judge others. If a juvenile goes to prison for stealing, he or she is considered a thief and they will always be labeled a thief. People never want to give others a chance to change in life and have that labeled lifted off their backs. I am not saying everyone changes,
The Labeling Theory-also referred to as Social Reaction Theory- asserts that crime is a label attached to wrongdoing, and often the label becomes a stigma that increases criminality. The Labeling Theory became most dominant between the early 1960s and the late 1970s. The labeling theory says that deviant individuals are deviant mainly because they are seen deviant by society; individuals who are labeled as deviant may be likely to reject themselves and act deviantly because of the label. Labeled individuals could include prostitutes, former criminals, nerds, alcoholics, etc. The labeling process can be simplified into six steps: initial criminal act, detection by the justice system, decision to label, creation of a new identity, acceptance of labels, and deviance amplification. Individuals who are used to being labeled negatively have low self-esteem and are more likely to separate themselves from others; they may also act deviant as a result of the label. When someone is labeled by society it makes it difficult to return to label that they once had. Their identity is tampered and changed. Labeling can have a terrible effect on the lives of people and it is a social problem within society. (Hagan 2013)
As the matter of fact labeling theorists creates or present more problems that are against some people. Labeling theorist is influenced by society. For example the ability of different people are assigned that group of people are ableism while others are labeled disable. Society are expected to accommodate and help disable people. Instead, they are supposed and labeled them disable. Their identity are spoiled and identified as a deviant. It is absolutely wrong to stigmatize them instead society help them. According to Best “But the disability rights movement insisted that this was the wrong way to think about the disabled, instead of worrying about these individuals’ failure to match some societal ideal, the movement sought to criticize the
Labels have been around ever since humans have, and have made changed history in many ways. There are both good and bad labels. It all depends on the context. Labels affect society in many ways, including how people feel about themselves, make more people form preset opinions, and they also form secluded groups.
Some examples of the everyday imposition of positive (rather than negative) labels are helping your kids think positive instead of negative even when they are doing wrong. One positive label is describing a kid as spirited instead of bad it gives strength to that child instead of awarding bad behaviors. As parents we should use positive labels because negative labels puts us in a vicious cycle that make our kids feel negative about themselves. People should write down the negative label they use for their child, and then transform the negative behavior until positive behaviors. When people expect good things, their behavior change, and studies have shown this. Labeling theory is when individuals view crime as part of limited chances of allowable
