The career I want to major in is nursing; I want to be a registered nurse for pediatrics. The reason why I chose this career is because I love kids and the fact that I will get to take care of them and help them get better is what I will love to do. Their health is what matters to me the most. The responsibilities of a registered nurse would be to record the patient’s medical histories and symptoms, prescribe medicine and treatments, observe the patient and record observations also they have to help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results. Caring for children and infants illnesses has to be a RNs number one concern. On my career assessment test on my skills I was better at helping, managing people, and problem solving. I love to help people in any way I can because seeing other people happy is the type of person I am. It says I like to motivate people and evaluate their performance and that’s also true and that goes perfect with what a RN should do. The problem solving skill is also correct when I identify a problem I like to find a solution and make it right. That’s also relates to a registered nurse because they have to talk to the children and figure out what’s wrong with them and they have to find a way to make the patient better and healthy by the information provided. So indeed I agree that this career matches with my skills. The education I want to take to take to become a registered nurse is a Bachelor of Science degree (BSN) and that takes four years to
My career research included looking over various sources such as websites and books that all said most of the same things about nursing. Being a registered nurse involves recording symptoms, providing support in rehabilitation,
A pediatric nurse would be the career for me because I work well with children and I find that helping children makes me happy. Being a pediatric nurse has many duties and personal characteristics needed; such as working with children and getting along with them easily. Being a pediatric nurse also requires many years of studying and also many costs, but in the end the wages and benefits make up for it. The work setting and employment outlook are looking good for the upcoming years. Having a career as a pediatric nurse requires a lot of responsibilities and duties but I feel that because I am hard working and easily get along with children this would be the right career for me.
I would like to go into the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner career field. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners help Pediatricians and other Physicians diagnose and take care of children from infancy to young adults. I have grown up with ten siblings and many more cousins, so I have learned how to deal with children of all ages. Also, I have been interested in the medical field since I was a little girl and I have always loved to help people. I would have liked to be a Pediatrician but I would prefere not be in school for another thirteen years, so I found that the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was the perfect career for me.
In some point in time, during a person’s life they run into the question what do I want to be? They must find a career that they will enjoy or the time that they have spent in class and studying will be in vain. While doing research on the Georgia Career Information Center and from the constant idea throughout my life I have decided that I want to become a registered nurse. The type of work environment, the salary that the job provides and flexibility with work hours are all things that have drawn me to this occupation. I want to specialize in Neonatal. I have always enjoyed caring for people and making a difference to someone. When you become a nurse these are just some of the things that you are able to accomplish. Becoming a registered
The tasks of a nurse fascinates me; I have had several opportunities to observe nurses in hospitals and I find their work intriguing. I have always been interested in the health field and performing the jobs of a medical professional. Ever since the age of twelve, I have known I wanted to attend a university and pursue a career in the health field. I have always had an interest in my science courses, specifically biology and chemistry and have excelled in these areas. I want to be able to receive the best education possible and make my parents and community proud. I wish to do more for my community than just being a typical nurse and I will be able to do more by becoming a nurse practitioner.
Since I have been a young girl, I have dreamed of dedicating my life to aid others in health and wellness. Nursing, however has not always been my leading career choice. Career options such as a pediatrician, oncologist, anesthesiologist, etc. have been considered in my pursuit of finding the proper career path, but through all the consideration I have never lost my true passion of helping others. Through careful examination of these various careers, I discovered that I wanted to pursue a career that was more personal and hands-on. I have chosen to pursue a career as a pediatric oncology nurse. Although this career with be both physically and emotionally demanding, I feel that I have made the best choice to become a nurse and devote my life in the pursuit of restoring health and wellness in children battling detrimental diseases.
Many years ago I chose my studies to begin a career in the medical field. My original goal was to become a Pediatrician. However, at the end of my bachelor’s degree and after many hours spent volunteering at Miami Children’s Hospital, I decided that I wanted a career that would give me more patient provider interaction. I spoke with several doctors, nurses, and other health care providers and decided the best career for me was a Nurse Practitioner. I still have not decided on a specialty but I feel that path will come naturally with
Pediatric nursing is an important profession to us today. They devote their knowledge and skills to caring for children from infancy through the late teen years. Pediatric nursing does not just give you the opportunity to work with children, but with their families as well. I was inspired to become a pediatric nurse when I was younger. I remember when my little sister had to go to Kids First Pediatric to get a flu shot, my sister was so terrified of the needle she began to cry and try to move away from the nurse. In order for the nurse to calm my sister down she started making my sister laugh by playing peek-a-boo with her so that my sister could get her mind off of the needle. Once my sister was no longer thinking about the needle the nurse told my sister to count with her and on the count of three the nurse gave my sister the flu shot without my sister even noticing it. I found it so unique how a nurse could be playful with kids when they’re scared. I like working with kids so I know that this particular field is perfect for me.
The career path I have chosen to take is in the medical field. My dream from a young age was always to be a nurse. A nurse is a healthcare professional who is focused on caring for people, and making sure that they manage, maintain, and recover patients to the finest state of health (What is Nursing, par.1). Nursing makes up a vast majority of the healthcare industry. There is a huge range of nursing specialties. Nurses work in General and surgical Hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing care facilities, outpatient facilities, and home health services (Why Be a Nurse, par. 2). Nursing is an extremely flexible career, with one hundred and four specialties and a lot of advanced nursing degrees, so there is something for everyone in this field (Why Be a Nurse, par. 4). Nurses do much more than just help people heal physically. Nurses are there to make sure patients are taken care of physically and emotionally. There are different levels of
I have always wanted to become a nurse, I find it interesting and I love helping people. Trying to put others before me. Though with some research, with the help of the California Career Zone Registered Nurses, it showed me the information on becoming a nurse practitioner, I could still work in pediatric care, as well as handle higher tasks. Such as studying patient history, diagnose and treat them, order and perform certain tests. Whereas a registered nurse just monitors, as well as administer medications. (California Career Zone). It is a very social working job, making sure patients understand their illness and treatments, bedside care is very important in this job. Helping others would help give me a fulfilling job in my career. I am looking forward to being in the medical
The medical field is rapidly growing with so many different careers to choose from. There are many different things that you could specialize in. There are so many opportunities in the medical field for you to grow and become something bigger. A very interesting field to go in is a pediatric nurse. This specific career path interests me because when my little brother was 5 years old he suddenly woke up one morning with his body completely swollen. We immediately rushed him to the hospital. While at the hospital they told us that he had Nephrotic Syndrome. His kidneys weren’t properly working and he was leaking excess protein in his urine. Since that day I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to help others, especially kids in their
I have had a passion for becoming a healthcare provider for children for quite a while (for a long time). Children are one of the most important individuals of society because they are the future and will one day be in charge of the world. Their health at a young age is indicative to how their health will be as adults. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. My career goals are to prevent children from having to spend time in hospitals or in pain and to help them live out their life and dreams to the fullest extent. Children play a very large role in their families, and when a child becomes sick, the whole family becomes distressed. Pediatricians not only heal children, but they help and prevent a family from suffering. I love medicine and children, and I hope to combine these two passions by becoming a pediatrician.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” (Eleanor Roosevelt). The career that I aspire to have is being a neonatal nurse. A neonatal nurse is a nurse who works with newborn infants born with a variety of problems including: prematurity, birth defects, infection and surgical problems. This career seems very interesting because there would be something new to see and learn everyday, and experiences will take place all around. Before being a neonatal nurse you will have to know some more information so I will be covering the history, requirements and a description of the job.
As I am quickly approaching my high school graduation, the question of “What are you going to major in? What are you going to be?” gets thrown my way very often. I had always known I wanted to go into the medical field and be help to others but I never knew what. I threw around the idea of becoming a pediatric surgeon, pulmonary pediatric doctor, or finally I came to the consensus of becoming a nurse. Now, another question follows, what kind of nurse? I have jumped around from specializing in Pediatrics or Neonatal. I am researching both careers very intensely to determine which career I am most interested in and would like to pursue. I knew both careers are very intense, it is not easy working with very sick and weak kids.
Becoming a Registered Nurse Specializing in Pediatrics Most people don’t get to touch lives like nurses do. Most people don’t get to save lives like nurses do. Most people don’t give up their personal lives to better someone else’s like nurses do. I am currently a Junior in High School and it is about time for me to start planning my life and finding what I am meant to do for the rest of my life.
