Deciding what career do we want to pursue, and knowing that maybe that career is going to be part of our lives forever is a huge decision to make. When I started to look for something I liked, but that would also provide me with an income I can live with, many options came to mind. I had to consider the time I would have to spend studying and the money needed to accomplish the career. At the end, I decided that being a high school teacher would be a rewarding experience. My field of study is going to be mathematics, but for the purpose of this career exploration paper, I am going to discuss information about high school teachers in general. When considering choosing high school teacher as the career I want to pursue, I looked at the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics to find more information about it. Some of the information I found was that “the 2016 median pay is 58,030 dollars per year, and the typical entry-level of education is Bachelor’s degree.” (United States). One of the advantages I found is that the job outlook is at 8% which means that it is as fast as average. To become a high school teacher, I need to earn a Bachelor’s degree preferably in the field I want to teach, and a state-issued certificate which may require an academic background in the subject I will be teaching. Like any other job, high school teachers have duties they need to perform almost every day in order to be successful. Some of those duties are planning lessons in the subject they teach;
