It has been roughly six months since the soldiers have taken me to be in the army. I have enlisted a young boy to deliver these letter as often as I can write them. Getting caught could have be placed as cannon fodder for the other soldiers or flat out killed. In these six months I have received a rushed training. The more experienced soldiers say I have everything I need to know in order to kill the Youns. I do not believe them. I believe I will be killed. If I am not dead by the time your read this I am hating myself. Because I have been forced to kill for these wretched people. Forced to commit atrocities that I can not explain in words. Thinking of what I will be made to do... it makes me gag. Despite the horrors I know I will see and
Loyalty, bearing true faith and allegiance in a matter of believing in and devoting yourself to something or someone. In the Army, the acronym L.D.R.S.H.I.P stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Out of all these core values loyalty is first. Loyalty is the value instilled in troops early in their careers when they first take the oath of enlistment. “I, ________ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So, help me God.” In the Army, we recognize that loyalty is the thread that binds our actions together and
The military has so many benefits. It is a great place to go when you do not know what to
The freezing air is blowing as I lay in bed listening to the soldiers moan struggling to survive in this harsh war. There are many bitter conditions here at Valley Forge. There is a big risk staying here as we struggle to stay alive. My hut is filled with smoke and is surrounded by the cold snow. We have huts that are a few feet long and have a small fireplace on one side and a door on the other. The food here is horrible and barely keeps us alive. We get a small piece of meat each day and a little bit of cornmeal. I have decided to re-enlist for 3 reasons which are that I need to fight for a cause, to help the sick and dying army, and to get my family and aging mother into a free country.
Someone once said that the willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude. It is nice to know that serving in the military comes with many benefits that service members can use in their everyday lives However, there is what many people consider drawbacks, as many people feel that the restrictions and limitations to these benefits make them almost impossible to enjoy. Despite its drawbacks, serving in the military comes with great benefits, including medical, educational benefits and more.
Being in the military I have sat through several different speeches by people all over the world. I can recall being in the audience and when the speaker hit the stage and start talking I caught on to every word. I can remember sitting back thinking to myself “Wow! This is a really good speaker”. I have also been in an audience other times finding myself cringing in my seat waiting for the speaker to leave the stage. Not that they were bad speakers but the delivery wasn’t very good. I think what make good speakers really good is preparation, knowledgeable about the information that they are presenting, and being comfortable in front of the audience they are speaking to. I feel it’s vice versa for not so good speakers. Many times people
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, and beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. (Tecumseh, 1813).
When General John C. Frémont of Missouri and General David Hunter of South Carolina issued decrees that freed slaves in their military districts and allowed them to join the military, their higher-ups repealed their orders. Although, by the middle of 1862, the growing amount of former slaves and the shrinking number of volunteering whites, along with the progressively demanding faculty needs of the Union army convinced the government to start reassessing the ban on black
Everyone has different goals in life. They want to make lots of money, drive nice cars, break world records, own two or three vacation homes, the list goes on and on. Personally, I wanted to apart of something bigger than myself, which is why I enlisted in the United States Military. All my life I took everything for granted, my parents and friends, coasting my way through school, and when senior year came around I wasn’t sure what I was going to do after high school. After talking it out with a few buddies that said they were joining the military and I weighed the pros and cons of it. Months later on the date of May 20th, 2015. I swore in to join the United States Army.
Thanks for your response. Being in the military I have had the opportunity to be stationed in some pretty remote areas one of which was Okinawa, Japan. Fun fact Okinawans are not Japanese but belong to the group of people known as Ryukyuan or Lewchewan people are the indigenous peoples of the Ryukyu Islands between the islands of Kyushu and Taiwan which includes Okinawa. Well getting back on subject Marines are stationed on Okinawa as well as the Air-force, Army and Navy. Marines making one of the bigger military services on the island they conduct a lot of training especially when it deals with firing weapons. There are strict guidelines they have to follow when conducting those types of training. So what might be good in the United

Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1-0 states, “living by and upholding the moral principles of the Army Ethic” is the foundation to our profession. An organization cannot survive if there are no foundation for morals. The organization will internally implode. This is a critical fact for the Army. Individuals that do not have a foundation that aligns with the Army’s foundation is detrimental to the organization. The purpose for this short paper is to explore the fundamentals of our profession; examine the need for structure; how to return to basics of the profession; who needs to enforce standards; finally, implementing a culture change within the Army. Army leaders have categorized the four problems that
As of 2007, there were approximately 1.76 million children and youth who were the dependent of a military personnel. During the time the US military was present in Iraq and Afghanistan, over two million children had parent(s) deployed in one of these two countries. If the stress of a deployed parent(s) wasn’t enough, these kids also dealt with moving repeatedly, new schools, new friends, and sometimes even new countries. Not having a hometown is normal for a military child who moves every two to three years. The question is; does these experiences take an emotional and mental toll on this children, and is it possible that these stresses affect their adult life. Growing up as a military child, through the experiences they have, heightens the likelihood of developing mental disorders such as depression and also heightens the likely hood in participating risky behaviors such as binge drinking, illegal drug use and unprotected sexual activity.
Dear whoever may discover this in the near future; on the unforgiving battle front I fear that the mindset of the unimaginable rejection of death will eventually break me hence this writing; a check of reality. One may spends countless hours dedicating praying and wishing of the forgiveness of a greater entity, regardless of your contributions to the humanity which now can be deemed nugatory , confronting a living hell had almost became routinary. The muffled scream of “medic!” competes with the continuous battle cry of artilleries and rifle rounds, perfuse my bloodstream with adrenaline. Fabricating a false sense of urgency, deep down in my heart I’ve came to acceptance that my responsibility was not to offers medical assistances but rather

These people help us to acknowledge what heeds to be done for this united country for the rest of us to appreciate the liberty that we have. Congress has decided to make a decision in which every high school graduate must attend one year in service to their country before college. Through this experience people would learn beneficial life lessons, I believe that this would impact the society for the better and help with future families and jobs. Some of which could be learning, hard work, respect and also discipline. Throught this action, poeple will accept and feel a true respect for the love of the freedom of this country. I, Juliana Warren believe that one year in the military idea is an effective and great idea becuase it allows men and woman to learn discipline and respect, help get a better funding for college, and give us the respect for the right of freedom we have.
