Recently, I was doing e-run for Physical Graffiti, which is a great dance show performing at UCI. Basically, my primary work is changing gels during the performance, and I have the chance to touch the lights and learn lightening. I think those lights have magic, that can make dances meaningful and colorful, not to mention the dance are super awesome itself.
So, when I wart back home, I searched some dances on Youtube. Sharing one dance, I think it's super

E. After reading “The Devil and Tom Walker” I actually enjoyed it. I really like Washington Irving’s writing style and I like how he used satire throughout the story. I thought it was easy to read and understand and I liked how Irving put in how Tom didn’t really care that his wife was killed.
Graffiti has been around for more than half a decade and practiced worldwide. However there is debate between whether it is a form of art or vandalism. Graffiti artists’ debate that many do not understand the reason most graffiti artist take the risk of incarceration, fines, injuries, and in some cases death to paint a wall. A graffiti artist can have the simple desire to become recognized, or to create a piece that speaks to their audience as a form of self expression. Because graffiti is associated with gangs and acts of destruction to some many cannot see the history and importance graffiti can have on a worldwide scale. Due to the fact that graffiti is usually produced illegally, meaning it is
It’s really cool to just try the moves we learn in class with different people. I would get really nervous when I dance with someone that’s better than me because I would be scared to mess up, but eventually I got the hang of it. I regret not dancing with the more skilled girls because I would probably have learned a lot from them. It did feel a little discouraging towards the end because no one else was dancing except the more advanced people. So all I could do was observe them and admire how graceful all of them looked.
People often think that dancing is just about having to do a routine, but it isn’t. I just don’t dance, I perform, I breath, I count, I see the world slowly fade away. I create my own little place to be safe in. I release my feelings, and thoughts. I tear down the walls that stop me from being happy, and that allows me not to be angry anymore. I lose the pain, and I let go of that girl that is full of hurt, and I smile. It is not just about doing a dance it is much more than that. What I do is something wonderful that I can not find the words to express how amazing it makes me
If you were to go open a dictionary and look up the definition of art, you would see that it has art as “The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination…” (“Art” 2017) and “Works produced by human creative skill and imagination.” (“Art” 2017). From these definitions, graffiti is art, yet in most cases, it’s considered vandalism because it is done without permission of the property. When graffiti is done in a designated place or with the permission of the property owner, then it can truly be considered art. But even if these circumstances are not met, if the graffiti goes beyond a simple tag, it is art.
In one my classes; Dance Appreciation, I had an assignment to view a dance piece on YouTube. The dance that I viewed was called “She without arm, he without leg, Hand in Hand”. The dance was not only informative, but it was enlightening to watch.
For us to really understand this we must start at the beginning. Moses was born in 1393 BCE he was the third child to Jocheved and Amram, he had a brother and sister Aaron and Miriam during this time the Israelites were enslaved. Due to the many decree handed down by the rulers of the time his mother had no choice to when he was 3 months old to place him in a basket and send him down the Nile river, because of a decree had been passed that all male Hebrew infants were to be drown in an attempt to control the slave population which the Pharaoh’s were getting concerned was growing much too quickly. While Moses was floating down the Nile
Fourteen years later, that flame that burned inside me as a little girl is still shining bright. To this day, I am amazed that jumping around my house sparked a passion so strong that dance has been a major part of me that I can not imagine my
In modern day times, we have reality tv shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and World of Dance, along with dance movies such as Step Up 5: All In, that help capitalize on the new generation of the “entertainment” lifestyle of dance that includes tricks, stunts, or other forms of the “wow” factor (Capristo 5-8). Furthermore, technology can be used in dance as a creative tool through sensors to control music, video sequences, and to bring dance from different geographic regions together for performances. For example, Pauline Brooks, a professor at Liverpool John Moores University in Liverpool, England, began working on a project with Professor Luke Kahlich at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in order to choreograph a piece together, they use webcam projections in each studio to help both sides learn the material at the same time (Brooks 2). In all, dance through film has created an outlet for stylized movement of entertainment purposes and has provided a connection for dance to communicate across all
Outside of medicine, I spend my leisure time dancing and choreographing. My love for dance and music stems from my early childhood. I recall listening to Disney songs and “choreographing” dance moves – moves that appeared as uncoordinated, but exquisite loose wiggles. As a result of my parents’ high expectations and strict upbringing, dance was an important activity because it served as a safe haven away from the stress and pressure I felt as a child. Dancing was, and is still, my source of joy and amusement.
The Graffiti workshop is a unique team building activity and where better to do it than in Berlin – the graffiti capital of Europe! Ideally is 2 hours for this activity.
Packing my backpack with my camera and my charger, Kayla and I rush out of the house with excitement. We were driving to Philadelphia to see Graffiti Pier, a place where graffiti artists go to do their artwork. After hearing many good things about it from my cousin who lives nearby, we just had to go!
Lighting creates moods and emotions in these performances, and reinforces particular moment and movements. Also, lighting helps the dancers convey particular emotions to the audience. For example, in the performance, An Act of Now by Chunky Move Dance Company, the audience could feel the unbalance and despair when the dim light initially renders the dancers’ aloof silhouettes at the time that the introspective individuals rested with their feet up walls or slumped against the wide window frames.
Reaction: This was one of my favorite things I have done to help others. I raised over $300 for the Children’s Miracle Network and I danced for 24 hours without sitting for these children. It made me feel wonderful to participate in such a good cause. When I saw, the children running around and enjoying all the games it made standing for 24 hours well worth it.
