"Never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place - that is, the unique you. Have an aim in life, continuously acquire knowledge, work hard, and have the perseverance to realize the great life. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam." Now the word perseverance means the act or power of continuing to do something in spite of the difficulties that confront someone. Perseverance is important because it shows what someone has been through and how they overcame it. An example of this is a girl who has a math test at school and by studying for the test she is able to pass it. This is showing perseverance with her studying for her test. In this essay, there will be three stories and how these people persevered through their life trials. The first story is about a woman named Temple Grandin, who was born autistic and faces the world with her different thinking process. She persevered throughout all of her life and becomes a college professor. The second story is from Desert Exile. This story is about a little girl who shows her experience of being moved to a camp in the United States. The reason the united states did this is so they could prevent any further attack by the Japanese on pearl harbor. The last story is a book titled Twice Pardoned. It is about Harold Morris, who was falsely accused of murder and given two life sentences; but in the end, finds redemption in Christianity and is released from prison. Authors use nonfiction literature to influence their reader through hard
Every person on this earth experiences pain. There are no exceptions, no anomalies. The fact that we endure pain, does not mean that all we ever experience will be pain. Lance Armstrong once said, “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.” From this, we can take that if we persevere, pain will eventually end, but if we surrender to that pain, we will suffer the effects for much longer than we would have had we pushed through the struggle. There are three main places where we can see success through perseverance: in our careers, emotions, and education. In all of these subjects, true success is achieved with plenty of perseverance. All of these are opportunities to connect with Lance Armstrong’s motivational statement regarding perseverance. If we take this and learn from it, we are likely to experience success in our own lives.
Why do we push past the obstacles to be happy? Happiness is golden to America. Perseverance is the Great Depression. Making it through this frivolous time was an achievement. Farms were going bankrupt, and my grandfather was about to lose more than anyone.
Elijah Turner thought this as he walked into this familiar place, a second home, the place where his dreams came true. The basketball court.
Many people suffer problems in the world today. This includes terrorism and tyranny. It includes kidnapping and hate crime. It can also be cancer and starvation. Many have lived through problems like these and told the tale because they persevered. Through Hillenbrand’s Unbroken, Wiesel’s Night, and Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, perseverance is emphasized the readers by writing about characters, whether they are survivors of the Holocaust, a prisoner of war, or family, that have to suffer obstacles that can potentially kill them if they don’t overcome it. Even though each author has a different way to show perseverance, they all agree on what perseverance can do. Persevering through unfortunate situations
In the early hours of morning on June 28th, 1969, New York City, hundreds gathered; All of them connected and protesting for their rights. In Greenwich Village, a poor Manhattan neighborhood, stood a bar where people of all ages, different identities and walks of life came to. The Stonewall Inn had become a sanctuary for many people gave them a chance to be themselves without worry of being accepted, treated unfairly or cruelly because of their sexual identity. During this time in history, there were not many places to go where people could openly be themselves, whether they may be gay, lesbian or transgendered. Some got thrown out of school or the service for being gay and
This past week I chose to apply the concept of perseverance with my youngest son, Paul. Paul is eleven years old and preparing to enter the sixth grade. This is a significant transition as he will be entering middle school. I selected this concept for several reasons not the least of which is the fact that performance character has not been an emphasis in my parenting style. Having served as his Sunday school teacher for all of his eleven years of life, he has a firm foundation in the area of moral character. Additionally, Paul struggles with math concepts. During the previous summer, I experimented with giving him a preview of the upcoming school year’s math curriculum. This yielded outstanding results in both his grades and his performance in standardized tests.

Perseverance is the key character quality of the great leaders of the Bible. They did not give up when things God hard. They continued to do what God had told them to do until the work was done.
There is a common misconception that has plagued the world. A common misconception that has left our nation divided, one that has left our hearts anxious and disappointed. It has destroyed families, corrupted the youth, and left individuals feel the immeasurable pain of incompetence. This idea, the tarnished, monetary idea of what success is defined as, will continue to infect our realm if we do not look begin to view this age-old topic differently. Nick Vujucic, a thirty-two year old man who was born without arms and legs, challenging him routinely in even the simplest daily activities, boldly stood in front of twenty-four countries and over three million people in his unintentional demonstration of his own success. When one looks at Nick Vujucic, they should see three things: perseverance, optimism, and his search for something beyond himself which, ultimately, have lead him to his enduring success.
Pain has been the name of the game in my life, through hospital visits to almost dying this is my story of perseverance. I have been faced with unfavorable odds. I have been fighting my whole life to get where I am today.
Perseverance has changed many people's lives and people have even made livings from persevering. Perseverance is doing something despite difficulty, or delay in achieving success. Anne Frank , Steve Jobs and Derek Redmond are all examples of people who persevered to succeed in what their goals were. Anne Frank is probably one of the most known person for perservening. She spent almost 2 years in an attic with 7 other people, to hide from the Nazis who were taking over many countries.
What is perseverance? Perseverance is the ability to go on when things seem hopeless. It is also a measure of success, or at least how much sacrifice one is willing to make in the name of success. As students, it is impossible to achieve personal success without having a goal, or direction. The goal and direction that often propels us to achieve is perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to forge ahead despite setbacks that threaten to undermine all efforts to succeed.

Through playing at West Creek with games, practice and expectations I have built the character trait perseverance.
