“When the whole world is silent even one voice becomes powerful”
We all have encountered perseverance in our lives and it can have a huge impact on people, but as quoted on the wall “It takes only one person to change your life… you. No matter how much a person tries to persuade you are the one that makes it reality.
Perseverance is key in nonfiction books and since it's a real person’s experience it makes it more powerful for the reader and it's easier to relate so it makes you want to do the same action if you were in a similar situation. The reader’s response is important because that’s the point of writing these texts, to persuade and inspire other people to do the same because that could in the end make the world a better place, which

The Taliban's tried to prevent girls from going to school , therefore they bombed and destroyed schools that had education for girls.
“If people were silent, nothing would change”
If everyone were silent, nothing would change because then everyone would think that what they are doing is right and continue doing it, but if someone told them that it's wrong they would think about what the person said and then consider if they still think that it is the right thing to do, for example, if you play soccer and you use your hands to score and no one tells you that you can't do that you would keep on scoring with your hands, but if someone, more likely a referee tells you that you can't use your hands in soccer you would stop using your hands. “I wanted to turn and run away, but I thought about what Danny had said “Warriors survive. Warriors don’t cry”
Melba got treated very badly in high school and the day when there were no guards that could protect her she had to handle the situation on her own. So when she got punched, kicked, etc. She just wanted to run away, but she also wanted to go to school and if she would run away the other students would think that punching and kicking the black students would make them quit school and they would continue beating them. So she stayed strong throughout the school year.
“Minnijean, Ernie and I decided to retreat, but just then vice-principal Huckaby made her presence known at the bottom of the stairs. Tiny erect and determined she
There comes a time in life when perseverance shows one’s true potential. The story“Unbroken” written by Laura Hillenbrand shows legendary runner Louie Zamperini and showed how he truly represented that. Throughout this story it displays what the true meaning of perseverance; whether, it’s something as little as staying committed to track or fighting in World War Two and trying to fight for life even if there seems like there’s nothing to fight for. If someone is commited no matter the time or the difficulty that doesn’t just show perseverance, but it shows one’s true ability to fight for and try for something they want to accomplish.
Initially, the beneficial effects of perseverance are elucidated by way of figurative language. For being in one of the most desolate places on earth, the Walls’ family thrived in the dessert. The Walls children were taught everything from how to drink and
Enduring and persevering through the snares of life is not always easy. Perseverance is not giving up despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. In the novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, the characters face troubles and difficult situations. Louie in particular does not give up although all hope seems lost. Louie exemplifies perseverance through his experience in Olympic running, in the army, and in the ocean.
Perseverance is crucial if you want to make to make something out of life. We all have difficulties that we need to overcome in our life and perseverance is the key to success with no regrets. My neighbour had a dream to start her own restaurant but she had no money, support or job. But instead of moping around she decided to put everything she had into opening a restaurant and eventually after all her hard work and persisting paid off and she made her dream into a reality. My neighbour didn’t just wait for someone to help her out but she made the tough call to take matters into her own hands and persist to achieve her dream. And as Sun Yat-sen, “The key to success is action, and the essential in action is
Another example, that shows perseverance can help you survive through the hard times, is when Mattie’s mother was sick and Mattie was taking care of her. If Mattie would have given up her mother might not have stayed alive. As you can see, perseverance can help you stay alive.
They are not allowed to go anywhere without a male relative. Breaking these rules brings severe punishment, which may include public whipping or even execution.” (6) This is a challenge because the taliban are against girls so they don’t have the right to get a career or walk by themselves. Career is important because you need to be able to take care of your family and afford food. Finally one of the hardest challenges was that Malala and the other Jewish girls couldn’t get an education. The text states, “In January 2009, the Taliban ordered all girl schools to close. That included Malala’s school, which her father had owned for more than a decade. It was devastating news. School was one of the most important parts of Malala’s life-and a luxury she never took for granted.” (7) This is a challenge because the taliban are against girls so they don’t have the right to get an education or live normal. Education is important because if you are no learning you won’t know how to read or have a conversation.
"If you're going through hell keep going."-Winston Churchill. Perseverance is key to achieving your goals, if you want to achieve something you can't just give up, you have to persevere and work to achieve it. Whether a person's goals be deemed morally right by society, such as overcoming oppression like Lutie Johnson, or morally wrong by society, such as stealing like the narrator of Angela's Ashes, perseverance is needed to reach them. After reading a section from Angela's Ashes and The Street I have come to the conclusion that they both have a strong theme that perseverance is the key to reaching your goals. They both achieve this theme through their use of characters, settings, and events.
In the story Warriors Don’t Cry, Melba is described as a very strong willed young lady. She decides to go to Central High even though people advise against it. She said, “I can be who ever I wanted. I could be white. I could be free (Beals page 6).” She is saying that she should be free to do what she wants and not be fouled because of the color of her skin. She also said, ”We have a right to go to that school and I’m certain our governor, who was elected to govern all the people will decide to do what is just that (Beals page 57).” She honestly believes that everyone should be given the same rights which is very strong willed.
“You don’t change the world with the ideas in your mind, but with the conviction in your heart.”
Melba shows inner strength, and perseverance throughout the novel. Examples like when she was almost raped, getting chased by Andy and his Friends, and when she married a white man. Melba shows a lot of strength and perseverance throughout the novel Warriors Don’t Cry. One example of inner strength Melba shows throughout the novel is when she started kicking a white guy that tried raping her.
One of the reasons that the main theme of this novel is perseverance is because it teaches you determination.
Perseverance is an immense trait that rules all if one contains it. Never giving up, pushing through, that is what it means, and that’s what it takes. Perseverance can be mastered by anyone, you have to fight and never back down to succeed. Raise the bar, and push past others. Both Buck and Leighton persevered by succeeding in the face of adversity and giving it everything they had.
No matter what you’re fighting against, in order to win, you must persevere. In Call of the Wild, Buck must fight against the harsh and snowy climate, and even dogs from his own team. On the other hand, my grandma didn’t let anything get in her way when the doctors discovered she had cancer. Even though my grandma and Buck have lived very different lives, both of them had to persevere through their problems. Everybody will deal with something rough in their life, which is why we must use perseverance to move forward.
More teachers and students leave school every day because they are afraid of being killed while attending school. Violence is one of the main reason why people stop doing anything in Pakistan. Although the Taliban weren’t the ones to build the schools without walls, water or bathrooms, they are a reason why kids aren’t attending school. They may thing they are doing the right thing, but they are letting their kids down without even noticing. Yousafzai states, “A bomb and a grenade were tossed into the school playground just as a prize-giving ceremony was about to start” (Yousafsai 312). The Taliban don’t realize how big of an important thing is to be illiterate, but they will never understand because of the missed education and ignorance. That’s also why they will realize that girl’s education is as important as boy’s
The novel Sense and Sensibility was truly a masterpiece. Written by Jane Austen this ironic love story has captured the heart of readers for years. The popularity of Austen as a novelist can now be experienced through film. This book has been adapted into various screenplays, including one by Emma Thompson. Another version of the film was done by the BBC. Perhaps it is the manner in which it was filmed, the character choices or other aspects of the films that make them so different. Though they are based upon the same novel it is to be sure that the Emma Thompson version will preserve Austen’s talent in the world of film.
