Muslims are one of the most marginalized people in the U.S for their beliefs and their religion but after 9/11 discrimination and hate crimes against them had become even worse.Throughout the U.S people have been “Anti-Islam” and believed that the Muslim’s religion is absurd, want muslims to change their beliefs or, leave the country.According to “Anti-Islman Discourse in the United States in the Decade After 9/11:The Role of Social Conservatives and Cultural Politics”by David D.Belt on page 211-212, talks about how a post on Charisma News with an article title “Why I am Absolutely Islamophobic” was urging at the fact that Muslim-Americans needed to be deported as soon as possible ,or go under sterilization.Also Belt talks about one of Bush’s family friend being,Franklin Graham saying that he thinks the muslim’s religion is “very evil “and “wicked”.One last example a man named Gabriel had said Islam is the real enemy of America and that we supposedly “we will be doomed in war if we don’t realize it”. People are so brainwashed it honestly insane and very ignorant at the things people think about Muslims, its barbaric.They believe what Muslims believe in and their religion is wrong and they should switch to “Christianity” because it is the “American way “ or have them deported because the do not belong there and are “terrorist”.

After listening to the panel of professors speak at the SCAD Keynote Event, "Explaining the Trump Phenomenon: Interdisciplinary Perspectives", I learned a variety of perspectives on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. These perspectives were on different topics, including how he gained his supporters, his economic policies and other policies, what could happen if he becomes president, and much more. First, Trump’s popularity was definitely a surprise to a lot of people. Many of the panelists believe that he gained his supporters by shining light on some of our nation and government’s hidden problems. So he ultimately used fear to gain voters. In response to the widely unexpected and controversial election of Donald Trump the University of Maryland’s Government and Politics department hosted a panel to help staff and students understand how this happened. Additionally the panel hosts each spoke of what will happen to our government in terms of foreign and domestic policy. Each panel host had a different perspective on the matter and it made to be a very interesting discussion filled with a diverse set of opinions on how Donald Trump got elected and what it all means going forward. The speakers for the event were Irwin Morris, David Karol, Antoine Banks, Liliana Mason, Stella Rouse, Vadimir Tismaneanu, and Karol Soltan. Though there were many speakers at the event each person had a brief time to speak on the matter at hand and present their own analysis on the election.

Donald Trump is running for president. He is laying down a lot of proposals. One of the biggest proposal is trying to ban Muslims from entering the United States, when he becomes president. Donald Trump addressed these issues saying that he is trying to protect the US and the people away from danger. This is important issue because it is unconstitutional.

The latest hot topic when it comes to the Republican candidates for the presidential election is Muslims. From Donald Trump saying we have a “Muslim problem”, to Ben Carson saying Muslims are unfit for office, the attack on Muslims has been a big subject. In this New York Times editorial “The Republican Attack on Muslims”, the author talks about how recently the Republicans were not the nicest when it comes to the Muslim community. Recently, Donald Trump has hinted towards his dislike for Muslims. In a recent interview, the interviewer stated that “we have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims”, and that our President (who is an American-born Christian) is also a Muslim. When the interviewer asked Mr. Trump when we would get rid of them, he said “We’re going to be looking into that.” Donald Trump has also stated that he thinks Muslims were behind the World Trade Center attacks, which is not true.

The recent election of Trump in particular has increased the violence and conflict agianst Muslims and Muslim Americans. Even before the Election of Trump, Muslims were looke at in suspicion because of the attacks on American soil on September 11, 2001. The easy identifications of followers of Islam is their head dresses and clothing, this makes them a easy target for violence. One example of the increasing tensions is attacks of Muslims and anything affiliated with Islam. On March 27, 2002 in Florida, a man drove his truck into Mosque attempting to kill anyone in his way. This is just one example of how Muslim American are de-humanized and targeted for their religous beliefs. This is a very apparent way that they are targetted but another way is politically. Some political catidatees are trying to seclude and edge Muslims out of inherent rights. Because of one event, the attacks on Setember11, 2001 a whole culture and people group have recieved immence seclution and agression. Though some Muslims are involved in terrosist groups not all are and it is actually a statistic that there is only a small amount of Muslim Terrorist compared to the whole people

In today’s world, the most controversial politician in this era is the president of the U.S. How did Trump possibly get to the point where he was able to lead the republican party, even with overflowing controversy? Can anybody with immense wealth/fortune and/or credible political connections become the frontrunner of the presidential election? Regardless of one’s answer, after this presidential election the outlook on the set up and landscape of politics will change drastically. The accusations of assault, moral dishonesty, and racism towards Trump has brought more turmoil in the political world, feuds among the people, and rambunctious protests within communities than any other presidential election this century. Even though degrading controversy is associated with Trump, he was still able to use highly effective sarcastic and hyperbolic rhetoric, which translated to entertainment, to capture votes and overcome accusations of assault.

Trump and his team may not be aware that by combining Muslims and terrorists; they spreading the suspicion, fear and consequently rising Islamophobia and racism. The ban disrupting the personal and professional lives of millions of immigrants who have been settled their life in America with the hope of freedom and fortune. Trump announced, at a rally in Mount Pleasant, S.C. during his run for the Republican nomination, that he would call for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims" in the United States and compared his plan, favorably, with the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. He also claimed he would send Syrian refugees already accepted into the U.S. back to Syria if made President, saying “I 'm putting the people on notice that are coming here from Syria as part of this mass migration, that if I win, if I win, they 're going back" (Obeidallah, 2015). Trump has also made statements that he would consider requiring Muslim-Americans to register with a government database and order them to carry special identification that denotes their faith (Obeidallah, 2015).

This scares me immensely, Trump is not fit to be president. A president is the face of a country, and is responsible for all citizens. The fact of the matter is that a lot of people in America are muslim. The fact is that he's alienating a huge portion of not only the United States but the world. The fact is that this kind of speech makes the US a primary target for those trying to get rid of those against muslims in the eyes of ISIS. The fact is that ISIS recruits people because they are isolated and are not tolerated, and this definitely is not the right step to take to accept muslims and stop the cycle of ISIS using those that are vulnerable because of hate speeches.

The 45th president of the United States recently banned people from seven different countries from entering the US, because they have a majority Muslim population. As Trump has previously stated the people he has banned are bad people with bad intentions. What he has yet to realize is that by banning Muslims from this country we are encouraging extremist recruitment.
