Gun control has been a major controversial topic for quite a few years now. More recently however, the issue of gun control has escalated because of racial issues, terrorism, and an increase in mass shootings. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those radicals who believe there shouldn’t be any gun control laws. I believe there should be some gun control laws and restrictions. While restrictions on carrying concealed weapons have been beneficial to reducing crime rates, there shouldn’t be strict gun control laws against carrying concealed weapons because dangerous people still find ways to obtain firearms, we have the right to bear arms, and some states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murder rates. Imagine you’re walking to your car after a long day of school shopping with your children. You’re a widowed mom with two small toddlers, who are in the shopping cart you’re pushing. The mall was packed that day, so you had to park further away from the mall than you would have liked. Suddenly, you realize that someone else is walking very near to you and your children. You try to shake off the eerie feeling, and you keep walking towards your car. You can finally see it, and you start walking at a faster pace. You realize the person behind you has started walking at a faster pace as well. You frantically press the unlock button on your keys. In your mind you’re thinking about how you have to unload the shopping bags, return the shopping
There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage. Most people believe that the people should be more capable of maintain proper use of the firearms instead of having them all taken away. Taking the firearms from Americans away would cause a lot more problems than there actually are. The people will be upset with the
President obama said at a press conference on October 01, 2015 “The solution to such violence is obvious. It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun.” (Simple Minded Gun Control). Gun control is a controversial issue worldwide. The reason why this has attracted so much attention is because not everyone is in favor of gun control and each side brings up excellent points about the issue. Research related to this issue strongly supports the claim that there SHOULD be more gun control laws. Three arguments that prove this position are (1) Incidents like Sandy Hook will be less likely to occur (2) It reduces the high rates of accidental deaths (3) As the years pass by and technology updates the laws should be up to date as well. Members from the National Rifles Association state that No law-abiding American should be forced to face evil with empty hands. I say I agree with President Obama there SHOULD be more gun control laws because it should not be as easy as it is for someone who wants to inflict harm on others to get their hands on a weapon.
News is all around us and is readily available to everyone. There are many flaws in the system that hurts the authenticity of the news when you see it. The media is indirectly part of the political system. Most news is either considered liberal or conservative by many.
Gun control in the United States has been a controversial issue for some time now. So much so that the Supreme Court even refuses to address this issue directly. Gun control really boils down to the the Second Amendment of the Constitution. Many people have different interpretations of the Second Amendment and the trenches are dug in deep on this issue. The Second Amendment can not provide the right to bear all types of arms to protect the people from governmental tyranny. If the Second Amendment was absolute, then we would allow the public to possess nuclear weapons, missiles, and other such arms, because like the 9 mm handgun that is an arm, a nuclear warhead is also a type of arm. The more our government restricts our rights to own

Criminals are provoked by self-protection and guns can thus be a disincentive. A majority of convicted American criminals have reported that they fear from attacking the victims who are armed. Their fear of encountering armed victims surpasses their fear of being caught by police (Lott, pp.05). Robbers do not attempt to break into houses after midnight because of the probability of being shot. Thus, society should be against gun control because crimes will decrease.
The Ethics of Gun Control The phrase "Gun Control" means different things to different people. One bumper sticker states that "Gun Control means hitting your target." However one defines gun control, the mere mention of it brings controversy. Opposing sides have for years fought over the laws that govern firearms.
Guns have become a serious issue in today’s society. There have been incalculable incidents that involved a gun causing physical harm to a person. This can occur when guns are not properly stored in a safe location. House Bill 75 has been proposed to help solve this problem. With this bill set in place, if a minor has the ability to access a firearm unauthorized, the person responsible for that firearm will receive criminal penalties. As a matter of a fact, there have been cases reported about this complication we face in today’s society. In spite of that fact, some may argue that there is no need for this Bill to exist. House bill 75, will definitely help out with gun control in America.
Gun laws have been debated for years now in America, and they have been debtated for various reasons. Recently, the idea of conceal and carry has been brought over to college campuses and schools around our nation. There are two main sides to this controversial topic, people who are for conceal and carry and people who are against it. There have been multiple bills proposed in florida to allow everyday people carry guns on campus. This topic has been a hot debate after incidents like the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting and even more recently the Ohio State shooting. Although the “Right to Bear Arms” is an amendment, conceal and carry should not be allowed onto college campuses and schools due to its potential consequences.

Some of the last news that has appeared on the news has been mass shooting. Which has triggered questions about gun laws again. A gun control group founded by former U.S. Rep. Gabby Gifford called for the shutdown of websites selling machines and parts that allow buyers to create a homemade, untraceable weapon. I feel that there is no urgency to trying to create stricter laws towards gun violence.
The US constitution is the blueprint of many other constitutions around the world. Our constitution is the cornerstone of many other countries bill of rights, even if they don’t follow it word for word the inspiration is clearly visible. The 2nd amendment “the right to bear arms” is something that isn’t seen in many other constitutions, and in the US there is major debate on it ranging from the interpretation, if guns should be banned, should anyone be allowed a weapon no questions asked, it goes on and on with no end in sight. I feel the 2nd amendment should be modified to include gun regulations, because other amendments were changed and updated for current times, regulations will prevent guns from ending up in hands of criminals, and regulations will not stop law abiding citizens from owning a weapon. Adding some extra words to the 2nd amendment will end debate over little things, and make all reasonable people happy.
What is worse, guns or people that own them? Many people are asking this question, and the answer is neither. Guns are generally used for hunting or defense and are owned by great people. Also, some bad people do happen to own guns (often illegally) and they do bad things with them. But if they did not have a gun, they would use a knife or a bat, guns are just tools. The right for people to bear arms should not be taken away because it is a second amendment right, and when respected and used properly, they are not a danger.
Two of the popular political topics that are currently being highly debated in the U.S. Government, are gun control and immigration. In the U.S. our two political are arguing two completely different viewpoints, that can be compared to the moral ideas of Emanuel Kant and Jeremey Bentham. Bentham’s approach, also know as the utilitarian approach, would agree with the Democratic Party that their should be gun control due to the massive amount of pain afflicted due to guns. He would also agree with the Democratic Party when it comes to immigration laws, because immigration can lead to happiness for those starting over in America. Kant would think differently on the idea of gun control, limitation would limit the ability for
Living a life in America, we all get to have all the rights that included in the Constitution. One of those was the Second Amendment which is the rights to bear arm, the purpose was to protect ourselves from danger but nowadays a lot of people have take advantage of it and use it in the wrong way. I believe our government need to have a strict limit on guns possession.
