Gun control has been a major controversial topic for quite a few years now. More recently however, the issue of gun control has escalated because of racial issues, terrorism, and an increase in mass shootings. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those radicals who believe there shouldn’t be any gun control laws. I believe there should be some gun control laws and restrictions. While restrictions on carrying concealed weapons have been beneficial to reducing crime rates, there shouldn’t be strict gun control laws against carrying concealed weapons because dangerous people still find ways to obtain firearms, we have the right to bear arms, and some states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murder rates. Imagine you’re walking to your car after a long day of school shopping with your children. You’re a widowed mom with two small toddlers, who are in the shopping cart you’re pushing. The mall was packed that day, so you had to park further away from the mall than you would have liked. Suddenly, you realize that someone else is walking very near to you and your children. You try to shake off the eerie feeling, and you keep walking towards your car. You can finally see it, and you start walking at a faster pace. You realize the person behind you has started walking at a faster pace as well. You frantically press the unlock button on your keys.
