The Khorasan Group Introduction The US and the world at large have been facing eminent terror that has sent the world over thinking of security measures to counteract such terrorist activities. Such names as ISIS and al-Qaida have become common even to the youngest of our children. And while the world was still struggling with the above two groups, a more eminent threat was reported by the American Intelligence-the Khorasan Group. There are still divergent views on what this ‘enemy’ could be. In this piece we seek to divulge around 50 pieces of information on what this group could be, and what could be their mission among other facts. 1. Understanding the Khorasan Group: Khorasan is a group of top al-Qaida members who have their operations in Syria. It consists of few fighters of al-Qaida who are on the terror watch lists. They majorly coordinate with another group known as al-Nusra which is an affiliate of al-Qaida. 2. New and Strange: With all the terror group names known in the world today, as well as their leaders and financiers, Khorasan is a new and strange group whose name only came to the limelight recently, courtesy of the American administration. 3. Khorasan; geographical region: Khorasan is originally a name referring to a certain geographical region. Ancient Khorasan is the present day Afghanistan, the southern part of Turkmenistan and Iran. 4. Khorasan and Islam history: This region was established by Sasanian dynasty that came just before the rise of Islam.
Since the terrorist attacks on 9/11, America has been on edge about the topic of terrorism. ISIS is a terrorist group that sole purpose is pushing their beliefs on others and if their religion isn’t accepted in the appropriate way (how they expected) they then result to violence. Da’ish is the official name of the terrorist group known as ISIS, dramatically arrived and shocked many people in the West. The horrifying and violent events that have occurred since the appearance if ISIS struck fear into the hearts of people all across the world. Even though fear is an extreme emotion, the hatred that came with it is even stronger and is more Ernest.
The leader of this group was called Osama bin laden.Suprisingly enough it took usa 10 years to finally catch him after the 9\11 attacks. He was then sentenced to death and killed.
This case shows the relevance to the history of terrorism in the US by shedding light on just how well organized homegrown terrorism can be. This type of terrorism is harder to detect due to extremist having grown up or having been well assimilated here in the US. They are very familiar with the customs, language, and blend in easily all while staying under law enforcement radar.
