The land of stories: The wishing spell
The book I choose to write about this quarter is “The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell”. The author of this book is Chris Colfer and there are now 6 books in the series. The Land of Stories is a set of fictional book that take place in a magical kingdom in the fairytale world. The Land of Stories point is in 3rd person because they're is a narrator during the story, and the main character speak as well. Overall the theme of this book discovering your true self and who you're going to become. This is because Alex and Conner discover many family secrets while they are in the fairy-tale world, as well as secrets about themselves. They basically are roaming a Disney lover’s dream life, but they have to get back home to the real world which cause more crazy secrets to surface.

The main characters are the two twins Alex and Conner Bailey, who are having their 12th birthday. Alex has short brown hair and always wears a headband, as well as her being a total teacher's pet and is an A+ student. She has a bubbly personality, however she a loner and doesn’t have many friends. She’s very smart though and is loved by her teacher Mrs. Peters. Her twin brother Conner on the other hand is more of the slacker type when it comes to school. He is more focused on being the class clown instead by making jokes and falling asleep in class. He has light brown, short, shaggy hair and has a small skinny shape. Both of them are very fascinated in learning about their family though, and would do anything to learn about their
The protagonist are Kayleigh and Andy Kayleigh is 12 years old and she is pretty brave and Andy and he is 11 years old he is brave also and there both curious about the “Klowns”. The setting is at the carnival in the evening and there trying to find what the clowns are up too. Andy is funny and he teases Kayleigh.
The protagonist is a 16 year old girl named Rachel. I think Rachel is one of those shy girls that don't like to talk to anybody like her crush Steve Millar and his mean sister Brianna. And thus all happens when Rachel sees Steve and the drama comes in.
The main character is named Jackson. He loves nature facts and wants to become an animal scientist when he is older. At first he doesn’t like Crenshaw and then they become friends. I can relate to him when he reads, because I read a lot too. Another character is Crenshaw. He is Jackson’s imaginary friend. He is a huge black and white cat. Another character is Robin. She is Jackson’s younger sister and loves driving him crazy.
Characters: The main character is Jayson Barnes. Jayson is 12 and enjoys basketball. He meets a friend named Zoe at his new school.
The novel that I chose was Spoiled by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. The main characters include Molly, Brooke, and Brick Berlin. This book is about a sixteen year old girl named Molly Dix, who, after the death of her mother, moves to Los Angeles, California to live with her biological father, Hollywood movie star, Brick Berlin and her half-sister Brooke. Molly isn’t used to living the life of a rich girl, so when she arrives, she is both excited and terrified; not only that, she’s meeting her dad for the very first time. Brooke welcomes Molly to high fashion and fame with an overwhelming dose of “sisterly love”. But in this town, no one is ever what they seem. I think that Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan built the story in a way that would
The Breakfast Club movie is about five high school students from Shemer High School with different backgrounds. It’s the story of “a brain (Brian), an athlete (Andrew), a basket case (Allison), a princess (Claire) and a criminal (Bender).” The purpose of the movie is to captive the feelings and perspectives on what other people have experienced and learned from each other. The analysis about The Breakfast Club is about the common insecurities and challenges of the teenager during high school. The Breakfast club is a movie to convey emotions, fears, and companionship that everyone can relate to. However, with new knowledge comes new perspective and emotions. This movie opens up a world of abstract thoughts because none of the five students know each other and it helps to create an interpersonal communication, they revealed to each other how their lives actually are. This movie is about Social Judgment Theory, Interpersonal conflict, self-disclosure, Social Comparison Theory and an unresolved life conflicts of a teenager life by finding their identities.
Although the children attend the same school, they were not friends with each other, nor did the other children act friendly towards Danielle. She is easily forgotten and the kids do not care to remember her. Danielle’s introverted personality
Jessica is the new girl, while Alexia is popular and bratty. Peter is the class clown, while his friend Luke is the smart kid and a total nerd. Danielle is shy and has a hard time standing up for herself. Anna is an outcast because of her home situation, and Jeffery hates everything. Mr. Terupt is the new teacher who knows how to deal with them all. The class wanted to have a great year with their new favorite teacher, but then a playful joke turns into a possibly fatal freak accident. So, the kids grow very close to each other as they hold onto hope that their teacher will be okay.
The learning activity chosen is for year 3 students, having the children chose a book they have read and enjoyed and get them to write up a book report detailing the Main characters, what happens at the start of the book, middle of the book and at the end along with the child’s personal connection with the book, what they think may happen to the characters after the story has finished and if they like the book or not and if they would recommend it to others. They will need to use the form provided to describe the main characters in the books and give an overview of what happens in the start, middle and end of the book. The children will also be required to explore the personal connection they have with the book and what they thought of the
Anyone who has ever been a high school student can probably find some way to relate to the characters in the film. The movie revolves around 5 students who for various reasons have been sent to Saturday detention by principle Vernon. The principle asks each of the students to write a one-page paper on who they think they are. As the day progresses, we see the teens begin to bond with each other and find out about each other and themselves.
The Demon’s Parchment, by Jeri Westerson, follows private investigator Crispin Guest and his apprentice Jack as they investigate a series of mysterious murders in 1350s England. The historical setting of the book references the Medieval Period of Europe, a dark age filled with superstition, disease, and political overturn. Westerson’s setting incorporates elements of religion and politics, offering a view of Medieval England from Guest’s perspective; the narrative also does a thorough job accurately describing the breadth and depth of the Christian-Jewish hostility of the era, as well as portraying the enormous role of the English Church in everyday life.
Today my book started with a girl Madeline. She had as a rare disease, she can’t go outside but she likes this boy named Olly. Madeline has to be homeschooled because the can’t go outside the doctor named Carla watches her and teaches her stuff that normal people do at home. A man ask her if she wanted to help him with his shop and she help him with the shop. Madeline set up the fake manikins and the fake food so after she helps him with the store she goes home and stays with her mother, they do not talk about her father.
