Thomas Edison was born in Ohio. He came from a poor family. As a child he had scarlet fever. That caused him to almost lose all of his hearing. Around 11 years old he started asking a lot of questions. His friends and family would never expect his great success to come. This research paper will tell you all about it.
Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847. He was born in a town in Ohio, his home town was Milan. He was one of the seven children in the house. His parents where Samuel and Nancy Edison. His father was born in Canada. He was a politician in Canada. His mother was a great school teacher and was the major influence in Edison’s early life. He became sick with scarlet fever when he was young. That caused him to have a bad hearing loss in both ears, it caused him to be nearly deft as an adult.
His family moved to Port Huron, Michigan, that’s where Edison went to school for only 12 weeks. He was a hyperactive child and was said to be difficult by his teacher. After that he was homeschooled by his mom. When he as older, at the age of 11, he started reading books on a lot of different subjects. Edison was able to get self-educated because of all the information in the books that he read. Little did he know that this would help him later in his life and job.
