The term rhetoric is defined as a skill of speaking or writing in order to persuade or impact someone. Not everyone is required to have the same views on a particular topic or subject in order to be a good rhetorician. I believe that Anne Boleyn is a prime example of someone who has a wide set of views about herself. Throughout this course we have been given different texts and films about Anne Boleyn, and they have all shown Anne from a different perspective. These different outlooks of Anne allow readers to form their own opinions and decide for themselves who Anne Boleyn really was. This young audience would then be exposed to a positive version of Anne, which would in turn influence how they would see her. I believe this novel greatly impacted what would go into my interpretation of Anne Boleyn, because I do see Anne in a respectful way. In my opinion this book is a great example of rhetoric. As defined before rhetoric can be a piece of writing that is used to persuade someone to think a certain way. Since the book is fiction, most would probably assume that it is just for entertainment. However, if you step back and look at the big picture, you can definitely see a hint of persuasion in it. I feel that Dunn was able to influence her readers to think of Anne the way she does, and sways them to look at Anne in a not so typical way. This novel also shows great support for feminism. Feminism is a belief to advocate women’s rights and interests. Both of the main female characters, Anne and Kate, show an immense amount of strong traits and interests. They are both mature, honest women who stand up for what they believe is right.
Another work that has centered around Anne Boleyn is the documentary by Suzannah Lipscomb called Henry and Anne: The lovers Who Changed History. The goal of this film is to try to reveal the truth about Henry and Anne’s love story while also providing a different idea of how the two were
