The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
By C.S. Lewis
My favorite character in this book would have to be Peter. He was a little bit of a tough guy yet timid, but wasn’t afraid to fight for his siblings lives. Peter was the oldest amongst his brother and two sisters and was most likely the brains and brawn of the bunch. In this story, Peter has to fight off a wolf to test his courage or, in Aslan’s words, win his spurs. He returns victorious and is knighted by the lion called Aslan. His brother Edmund, a very mischievous boy and a bother to his sisters Lucy and Susan, looks up to Him though he never admits to it. Peter was definitely the highlight of this book.

Suddenly she found herself surrounded by a huge forest. There was snow all around so it was very cold, so Lucy put on one of the conveniently placed fur coats and went to explore the wood. She did not walk far when she saw a light walking closer she discovered it was a lamppost. It was here buy this lamppost Lucy met the talking fawn named Mr. Tomnas. The fawn invited Lucy to tea and almost turned her over to a woman called the white witch, but Mr. Tomnas ended up really liking Lucy so he couldn’t do it. Instead he led her back to the wardrobe door. When Lucy got back to her brothers and sister, she found out that no time had gone by at all since she walked into the wardrobe. Susan, Peter and Edmund didn’t believe Lucy when she told them there was another world called Narnia inside the wardrobe. Edmund was always following her around asking if she found any new countries in the cupboards lately, but Eventually Edmund found his way into the wardrobe land too, and met the white witch. She was kind to him, but was really a witch, and he allied himself with her. And without knowing he agreed to turn his brother and sisters over to her later he realizes the gravity of his mistake and how much of his brothers anger he is risking. Then Susan, Peter, Lucy and Edmund all find their way into Narnia and find out that the lion called Aslan expects them to be queens and kings over all in
An example is when in the three movies and the book series, Aslan is portrayed as a noble and powerful creation of Narnia. In the movies, Aslan is portrayed as king, protective, loving and even noble which is part of his character. In the book series, he is portrayed as a father figure to every character, talking to animals, playful and even having a sense of humor. For instance in the book, the Prince of Caspian, Aslan is shown as humorous when he attempts to make the Trufflehunter have belief in him through the picking of the dwarf with his mouth and giving a big shake. In the Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe, Aslan is portrayed as playful. This is seen immediately he comes back from the dead and begins playing with Lucy and Susan for them to try catching
In this both heart wrenching and slightly humorous memoir, journalist Jeannette Walls tells the bittersweet story of her rather dysfunctional and poverty stricken upbringing. Walls grows up in a family trailed by the ubiquitous presence of hunger and broken homes. Throughout the memoir she recounts memories of moving from one dilapidated neighborhood to another with her three other siblings, insanely "free sprinted" mother, and incredibly intelligent yet alcoholic father. The author focuses on her unconventional childhood with parents who were too lazy and self-absorbed to obtain decent jobs. Although Walls's childhood gushes with heartbreaking tales of searching through dumpsters for food, she remains as unbitter as possible and
In C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Lewis emphasizes the three points of philosophy, themes, and symbolism throughout his writing. Lewis was a strong Christian man, and wanted to make children see and understand all the stories of the Bible. Therefore, he put Christian elements through his books, but with fantasy characters as well. Especially in this story, Lewis conveys the differences between good and evil. Aslan is represented as Christ just as the White Witch represents the sense of evil. Lewis wrote several books in this Narnia series, but The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe became the most famous and recognized of his novels.
In this story, four siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie are sent away from London to live in the country with Professor Kirke due to the Second World War and the air raids. When she returns home, she eagerly tells her siblings about this secondary world, but they do not believe her. It is not until Peter and Susan are persuaded by the Professor that they decide to trust their sister and follow her inside the wardrobe. Once the four of them enter Narnia, the adventure begins. In this magical world, they go on a journey, where they face many obstacles
The story The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis takes place in Lewis’ magical world of Narnia. The story begins when two inquisitive children, Polly and Digory, decide to try at visiting an abandoned house two homes away from Polly’s. They inadvertently end up in Digory’s uncle’s forbidden study. There they get rings that allow them to travel to other worlds. Accidentally, they bring back an ancient Witch-Queen to Earth. Through a small and very public fight, they end up in the land of Narnia with their Uncle Andrew, the witch, a caddy, and his horse. The evil Witch runs away and the creator of Narnia, a lion named Aslan, sends Polly, Digory, and the horse (Which can now talk and fly) to get a seed for a tree that will stop her. Polly, Digory,
The four kids were playing hide in seek in their new house they were taken too during the war, and that is when Lucy discovered the wardrobe. She hid in the wardrobe, kept taking a step after step, further into the wardrobe, until she eventually fell into the world of Narnia. Lucy started walking in Narnia and came upon a lamp post and then approached Mr. Tumnus, who is working for the White Witch. The White Witch represents the Devil and the evil character. The White Witch does evil things to other characters in the book and persuades some characters to do evil things.
The story started with the four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. One day, they stepped through a wardrobe and entered a different world, NARNIA, a land frozen in eternal winter, a country waiting to be set free. It was enslaved by the power of the White Witch. Edmund was absorbed by her, desiring to become the king of NARNIA. However, he was exploited, and his brother and sister would go to save him. They needed to face many problems. Thus, their adventure began. As all hope was lost, the return of the Great lion, Aslan, signaled a great change and even a great sacrifice. Finally, Justice would defeat the evil in the war. The four children ended up becoming king or queen of the NARNIA. Before long, they found the way to their
The movie Twilight was produced in 2008 by “Summit Entertainment” and was significantly successful in the box office, resulting in the “Twilight Saga” to begin on film: in fall 2009 New Moon was released and Eclipse is set to air this summer. The “Twilight Saga” is directed towards many people, mainly the hearts of young teenagers because it allows for them to believe that there is someone for everyone. Stephen Marche suggests the Twilight is a film about love between a homosexual male and a heterosexual girl who has wants to have sex with a beautiful homosexual. Marche goes as far to say that the “Twilight Saga” “is the equivalent of lesbian porn”. In addition, the “Twilight Saga” demonstrates the idea that everyone has their own
From the very beginning, Edmund gave the impression of rebellion toward his family. The White Witch met him first once he stepped into Narnia and she persuaded him to unknowingly betray his siblings through his gluttonous nature. He believed that he could rule over and torture his siblings if he followed the White Witch in her glory, but he pursued his dream, unaware that his family and he would, in actuality, perish. Lucy, Peter, and Susan opposed Edmund and the brainwashing power of the White Witch and followed the words of friendly beavers, stating that Aslan exised as the true King of Narnia and the White Witch would attempt at His life, as well theirs. A great mêlée instigated between Aslan and the White Witch where Lucy, Peter, and Susan obeyed the orders of the Lion, and Edmund came to the realization that he had made an enormous mistake. The opposition between two absolute powers and the brothers and sisters themselves created the backbone of the

Animals and human together help to convey moral messages for the readers. In The Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe, Edmund's attitude towards the White Witch can give young readers the message “not to trust strangers even if they offer candies”. Also, lying or teasing others can lead to negative consequences. For example, all the negative consequences Edmund endures when he was teasing his sister and lying about the White Witch. On the other hand, in Charlotte's Web, Wilbur's difficulties when separated from Fern can help children to understand separation anxiety and how to manage it by finding a good friend. Wilbur's attitude when separated from Fern can also show that not everyone can be a good friend. For some examples, the goose encouraging
Four siblings: Lucy, Peter, Susan and Edmund Pevensie are all sent to a faraway house to be safe from the conflicts of World War II. They each step through a wardrobe they discovered and out into the new world of Narnia—a land tyrannized and ruled by the vicious White Witch. Right before almost all hope is lost, the Great Lion— Aslan—returns, bringing with him a new found sense of hope and change. But with great victory, comes great sacrifice.
Aslan is a representation of adulthood and the idea of having responsibilities and reaching full maturity. In the story written by C.S Lewis, we learn each member of the Pevensie siblings have different charcter aspects that determine their view on Aslan (adulthood). Peter the eldest of the Pevensie siblings is the most courageous and brave of them. This shows the Peter is very mature and can face difficult obstacles that come in his way. His reaction was bravery and adventure, showing that he looks forward with confidence in his future and may be the most ready. Susan Pevensie, the second oldest, reacted with delight. Susan looks forward to her future also; delights, even, in the idea of being a woman and maturing completely. Edmund
